Research Question The central question for this project is “how Justin Trudeau celebrity status is linked to his father’s legacy”. If so, what is the impact? More so, there are also fundamental questions about why the media frames both Justin and Pierre Trudeau as celebrities. Answers would be provided if there are false equivalence about both prime ministers. Methodology The methodology for this project is congruent with Sterling’s thematic analysis for qualitative research. Forty articles from different publication and writers were examined for this project. A total of 12 publications drawn from 40 news articles includes the National Post, The Toronto Star, Postmedia news, The Winnipeg Free Press, The Ottawa citizen, The Globe and Mail,
This article talks about Liberal leader Justin Trudeau and his vow to bring Canadians together as one and to make Canada an open, confident and hopeful country. At a rally in Brampton, Ontario, he criticizes Stephen Harper’s “small and fearful” vision of Canada and promises to change that. Trudeau uses a direct quote of Franklin Roosevelt (“We have nothing to fear but fear itself”) to compare Harper’s plan for Canada saying that he has nothing to offer us but fear. Trudeau states that it’s a prime minister’s job to build Canadians up and together, not to tear us apart. Nearly 5 000 supporters attended the rally and it ironically took place in Brampton because it is one of Canada’s most ethnically diverse cities. Half of the population are immigrants

Anyone who lives or has relatives in Canada know that Canada is a young country that was established about 150 years ago. But a lot of people don’t know in the time span between the 150 years and now Canada (canadian figures) has accomplished many things that may have even shape the world we live in today. In the past 150 years a lot of things Canadian people did cannot even be forgotten, like the likes of Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Nellie Letitia McClung, and Harriet Tubman. Canada got their independence not that long ago and it all starts with a man name Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Pierre Elliott Trudeau has done many things how is today to be.
In 2017 Justin Trudeau has made a big impact in Canada. Trudeau has stepped up big time and although a lot of people have underestimated him. He has pushed through that to prove them wrong. Although a group of people do not like what he has done a great job to change Canada and a load of other countries too. Trudeau is part of the Liberal party in Canada, he has changed Canada significantly in good and bad ways, but mostly good.
Pierre Trudeau—who I consider the greatest Canadian in history—was Canada's 15th Prime Minister. Born on October 18th, 1919, Trudeau came from a wealthy family in the suburbs of Outremont along with two younger siblings. Born of Scottish and French descent, he grew up fluent in French. As adolescence, Trudeau graduated from the prestigious Jesuit preparatory school Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf; then, got a law degree at the University of Montreal. In 1965, the Liberal party invited Trudeau and two colleagues to run for particular seats. Because of his charismatic and flamboyant personality, he became a “fan favourite”, i.e., well liked among voters and became Minister of Justice. Not long after, in 1968, Trudeau was the 15th Prime Minister of Canada.
Pierre Elliott Trudeau was a remarkable man who has made a significant impact in the Canadian society. Trudeau was voted to be the fifteenth Prime Minister of Canada from April 20, 1968 to June 4, 1979. Trudeau has put a lot of effort into making Canada a better place and he was truly passionate. His actions spoke louder than words and he proved to a lot of Canadians how he was the best Prime Minister of the Post- war Era in a lot of people’s eyes. Back then, a lot of people liked and supported him and his actions, that’s why he has been re-elected and continued being Canada’s Prime Minister from March 3, 1980 to June 30, 1984. Trudeau’s ambitious attitude and determination has brought him to all the successes he had made during the fifteen
Colonist Lakritz, Naomi writes that Justin Trudeau at the age of 12 could not have been immune to the headlines. The celebrity status of his father and the media attention during his Parent divorce coupled with his mother’s sexual escapades during his father's years in office was widely framed in the media as a Canadian affair.
As a teenager, Pierre Trudeau attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, a French-speaking Jesuit institution. At home, the Trudeaus spoke a mixture of French and English, so Pierre found the transition from an English school to a French one quite effortless . His interest in politics has waned slightly. Instead, he wanted to become a sea captain, explorer, or an astronaut, a term not yet coined. He loved to travel, and just before he had graduated from high school, he toured the Gaspé Region on foot, rode through the three Maritime Provinces on a motorcycle, visited British Columbia, and took a train to Mexico.
Pierre Philippe Yves Elliot Trudeau, better known as Pierre Trudeau, was an author, a university professor, a lawyer and a politician. Through his political actions, as well as through his personality, he stimulated a great deal of emotions, both positive and negative, among the Canadian public. Thus making him a very memorable figure. He introduced important political initiatives, which strongly influenced many aspects of Canadian political and private life. His significance is still recognized by Canadians at present, which is illustrated by the fact that in 2004, he was selected as the
From watching his dad become Prime Minister to becoming one himself, here are the impacts Justin Trudeau has made in this year.
Justin Trudeau is said to have revolutionized the structure of the Canadian Parliament this past November with his policy for a gender-balanced cabinet. For the first time in Canadian history, the Canadian Government sits with a 50% female, and a 50% male cabinet as a reflection of Canada’s diversity (Murphy). Yet what may have stunned citizens even more than the country’s step towards gender equality, was Prime Minister Trudeau’s explanation for the gender parity: “because it’s 2015” (Murphy). Despite it being the 21st century, a century that strives for gender equality in all areas of life, the political arena still “appears somewhat stuck in time” (The Canadian Press). That is to say, gender equality in the political sphere is far from
I think Donald Trump has made a big impact on Canadian society in a bad way. Canada’s close relationship with America has been rattled by the election of Donald Trump, Donald Trump made radically overhauling U.S. trade arrangements a key issue in his campaign, and this issue could have the greatest effect on Canada. If trump sticks to his word there will be a Hard-won progress in the fight against climate change will be dramatically rolled back, Trump also vowed to back the United States out of the 2015 Paris agreement, a landmark international climate treaty aimed at curbing emissions and limiting global temperature increases. If anything good is to come out of him being president it is that
Described below is a critical appraisal of a qualitative article by Lisa Booth using the frame-work suggested by Ryan, Coughlan and Cronin 2007 to establish its believability, robustness, credibility and integrity (Ryan, Coughlan & Cronin, 2007).
Everyone possess critical thinking skills but when it comes to criticize a journal article it can be difficult for the first time, one of the best ways to develop critical thinking and reading skills is to use some strategies when reading and evaluating a research study (Wood & Haber,1998). The following essay it is going to focus in a critique of a qualitative journal article by giving its strengths and weakness, critical appraisal it is going to be done with support from different references and frameworks relevant to a qualitative study.
When utilizing a qualitative approach, the task becomes one of determining the qualitative method to be used. Additionally, Stake (2010) used purpose, research design, and methodical data techniques as a way of classifying types of qualitative research. Similarly, Cresswell & Cresswell (2007) spoke of five practices of qualitative research. These five practices consist of biography, phenomenological study, grounded theory study, ethnography, and case study. This researcher chose a phenomenological study for this research project.
