Nature is often conceptualised in opposition to culture, and yet in practice they are inextricably linked. Discuss the ways in which images of nature within visual culture (art, design, cinema, etc) position nature in relation to a variety of urban themes.

Introduce the subject:
Nature [noun]: The phenomena of the physical world collectively, including plants, animals, the landscape, and other features and products of the earth, as opposed to humans or human creations ~ Oxford dictionary.
There are plenty of ways one could define ‘nature’, this definition being just one of many. Should ‘nature’ solely refer to anything pristine and untouched by humans? If animals too use up the natural resources that the earth is gifted with, and they too pollute, destroy and kill, then what effect is it that humans have on our natural environment that separates us from other species? In this essay, I will be using the term ‘nature’ in reference to the Oxford dictionary definition, exploring the relationship between humankind and our natural environment within a variety of cultural themes.

One pivotal scene in the film is the discussion around the dinner table after the characters witness a cow being devoured by three caged velociraptors in a matter of minutes. Malcom says ‘I think a lack of humility before nature is being displayed here’, he adds ‘Genetic power is the most awesome force the planet’s ever seen but you wield it like a kid that’s found his Dad’s gun.’ Here, Malcom voices the ethical concerns related to the controversial nature of the scientific establishment. The reference to a child describes the scientist’ childlike and irresponsible behavior as they play with powerful science methods and disregard the possible

Jurassic Park is a science fiction novel written by Michael Crichton which was published in 1990. The book follows a mysterious island that is inhabited by genetically engineered dinosaurs created by a bioengineering firm. The story lets us watch as visitors land on the island at the request of the rich billionaire who owns the island and the bioengineering firm, which is named InGen to revel in the wonder that they have created. We follow all the miss-steps until all is lost and the island has to be destroyed. The novel is one to give us insight into what can happen when we try to play god and foreshadows what possibly could go wrong by taking that next step into genetics that could be considered reckless and dangerous. Crichton lets us
What first drew me to Jurassic Park was hearing about how well the effects had stood the test of time, and how incredibly intricate the details were. When I finally watched it, however, my favorite part wasn't even the dinosaurs, but the debate on respecting nature, the character development, and each person’s view on how much control humanity has over the world around it.
The films Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccol in 1997, and Jurassic Park, directed by Stephen Spielberg in 1993 seem like two films that have no connection. Gattaca is a film about a man, Vincent Freeman, overcoming his genetic disadvantage to become an astronaut. Jurassic Park on the other hand is a film about bringing dinosaurs back to life, while also causing massive chaos. However, despite these major differences in plot, both films are based on a similar idea, genetic engineering. Genetic engineering is defined as the process of directly affecting the genetic makeup of an individual using biotechnology. In fact despite having two totally different plots, Gattaca and Jurassic park approach the technology of genetic engineering from very

The movie Jurassic Park is based on scientists trying to successfully extracting dinosaur DNA from the thorax, cloning it, and breeding a variety of dinosaurs. Everything took place in a remote village of Costa Rica. As a plot unfold, it becomes very clear that the Velociraptor is the most dangerous of them all. John Hammond, the man who started it all, made his project more cost efficient by using a few personnel as possible in the park. However, the park never got the chance to open, due to the tragic that happened during a visit by private parties.
The force was definitely with everyone because the first installation for the new trilogy hauled in a hefty $517 Million, making it the biggest North American debut of all time according to a studio estimates. Now I think, to say that the force was strong on this one is an understatement.

In this paper I will discuss how different people each value nature differently. I will discuss Aldo Leopold`s essay about the value of nature and the main points he talks about on how humans should be parted of the community instead of destroying the community. I will compare his views with present day views on valuing nature. I will describe different ways other people value nature, also to describe the value of nature in my opinion and to compare my views with another person whose views contradicts my opinion. I will give my opinion how to go about solving these differences in valuing nature between another person an I.Aldo Leopold discusses how humans should consider themselves as
It’s well-known that the film Jurassic Park completely revolutionized cinema. Released in 1993 the special effects of this piece wowed audiences and had the film leaving award shows wildly successful. While the effects and cinematic mastery were ahead of its time the themes shown in the storyline have been explored in different media sources for ages. In Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg viewers are invited to ponder the age old question involving power and actions. Just because someone has the ability to create life and change the world as we know it, does that mean that they have a duty or right to use those abilities?
Dinosaurs are creatures that seem to fascinate humans, since all we have left are their fossils. Although, through art, their bodies can be put back together and we have a better sense of what they looked like. The problem with art is that pictures can sometimes be disproportionate, unrealistic, or even made up. Young children who learn about dinosaurs may think that they are actually different colors and can talk for example. This is why it is important to make dinosaur art as realistic as possible and more informative.

The urban environment that I live in is my nature. My nature is filled with birds, cats, grass, and flowers. It may not be as abundant with mother nature’s resources compared to most places, but it still provides me with an experience of nature. Nature is not limited to just what we see anymore. However, you must use your senses to truly achieve the full experience of nature. In nature, you must smell the wonderful odors from the flowers, you should use your sight and observe the natural beauty of the ever-changing sky, touch the rough and jagged bark of the trees, and hear the spectacular songs of the birds that fly above you.
