5 days after the questioning Maurice’s Mom and Icy come to visit Maurice. His mom wants Maurice to write a letter to his older brother Will, because Will is getting in alot of trouble and she wants Maurice help Will change his ways of being bad. Icy talks to Maurice about school and her grades and about her friends, and wants Maurice to write letters to her every week so they can talk. Later that day a kid named Luis gets in a fight with the one kid who that came from prison and Maurice tried to break the fight up and Mr.Cintron thought that Maurice was fighting but it was actually Luis. Mr.Cintron wouldn’t believe Maurice that he wasn't fighting so Maurice and that one kid went to solitary confinement

Later Helen meets a boy named collie. He lives in the same apartment building as Helen. Julie meets a man named Bud. Ray and Julie go to the Greggs house to investigate. They met David’s sister Megan. She then tells Julie about how the wreck affected her family’s life. They found out that they didn’t just kill a boy, they destroyed a whole family. On the way out of the house Ray notices something about the house, that someone much taller than Megan was painting the house. After this they study the evidence. Later Helen walks into her apartment room, and hears a voice behind her. She is startled to see Collie sitting in a chair in the corner. He then proceeded to tell Helen how he knew. Helen tried to lock her self in the bathroom. While in there she tried to look for a way out. Collie tried to take the hinges off the door to get in. Helen Jumped out of the bathroom window, and fell and became unconscious. Meanwhile Julie is waiting for Bud to go to the movies. Her mother insists that she does not go, and Julie agrees. Bud came to the door, and convinced Julie to walk with him to his car. Bud then squeezed Julie’s hand, so she can’t get away. He told her how he found out, and that he was angered by the fact that she sent yellow roses. He said it was like sunshine, but there was none. He then put his hands around her throat and started strangling her. Ray came up and hit Bud on the head with a flash light. He found out from the paint on Bud’s hand from the Gregg’s house. Heather tells Melinda that they can’t be friends anymore and Melinda gets mad because she feels like she is the one who took Heather under wing since she was brand new to the area and didn’t know anyone. Pat starts to become uninterested in continuing with the dance competition, which makes Tiffany upset as she was looking forward to it. Ridgewood High School is not exactly the perfect school. The school is full of delinquents, guns, and drugs. Lunch period was the prime time for trouble. The sound of the glass shattering from the window awoke the whole school. The people started to gather around the three boys creating the commotion. One of boys Douglas, a big, mean bully was heaving rocks at two boys Glen and Taylor. Glen is a smart fella who wants absolutely zero trouble. His only desire is getting into MIT. Taylor is the starting wide receiver for the football team and tries to protect Glen. During Lunch, Douglas pushes Glen to the ground and Taylor steps in front of Douglas in attempt to stop him. In the end, there were a couple bloody noses and several broken windows. On the other end of the school, Davis is waiting to sell Kevin marijuana. Davis really needs the money and Kevin has nothing going for him. He cuts class, abuses drugs and flat out does not care. After their exchange, behind them stands the school narcotics officer.

Rob aims to get Simon elected Class favorite at the end of the year. They look for Ash in the house, in the backyard, and in bushes. Kaitlyn gives him the money and just as he give Ash back to her he grabs Kaitlyn and runs and Mrs.Philipps start’s the car and chases the man , once she caught up with them she gets out of the car and helps Kaitlyn fight the man and once they are free they drive away and call the police because they are both happy,scared,upset, and shocked. Thomas Hardy, the author of Jude the Obscure, focuses on multiple themes throughout his book including social order and higher learning which is mainly seen in the first part of the book. Jude, a working class boy aiming to educate himself, dreams of a high level education at a university, but is pushed away by the cruel and rigid social order. In the second part of the book, Jude abandons his idea of entering Christminster and the focus shifts to Sue. The themes of love, marriage, freedom replace the earlier theme of education and idealism. Hardy pushes each of these themes to his audience and challenges everyday ideology by his audacious story about Jude Hawley.
