Jon And Patsy Ramsey: Harsh Media Backlash

JonBenet Ramsey was a six year-old pageant star, who was murdered on December 26, 1996. She was found dead in her basement, by her father John Bennett Ramsey. Investigators were able to determine the cause of death, but not who killed her. It has been over twenty years now, and the crime is still unsolved.

It has been almost 21 years since the murder of a little six-year-old girl by the name of JonBenet Ramsey of Boulder Colorado. Her parents were John and Patsy Ramsey. The question remains til this day “Who killed JonBenet?”

JonBenet was found dead on the morning of December 26th. The murder happened either late Christmas night or early December morning. Evidence shows that it would have been impossible for an intruder to enter through the basement window, so they would of had to enter through a more obvious location, such as a door or another window. In the case of a family member committing the crime, they would have been inside the house. While investigating the location of the murder, John Ramsey walked immediately to where his daughter was.

On the morning of Monday, June 13, 1994, investigators found the dead bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. They were brutally slashed the night before. This caused a lot of news coverage because of who Nicole Simpson was. She was married to a O.J. Simpson, a famous football player and celebrity. From the start, many people suspected O.J. for the murders because O.J. and Nicole recently separated. So theorists asserted that when Nicole started hanging out with Ronald, it caught the eye of O.J. Critics said that O.J. killed the two out of anger and jealousy. In my poster I am trying to satirize how the shooters of a mass shooting are treated by the media and the people; compared to how the victims are treated. Every time there is a mass shooting the media tries to profile the shooter, and provide details about his life and background. When these shootings happen the victims are forgotten and not even recognized. The victims and their families are the ones who have to suffer; not the shooter. When the media gives the shooters false attention it glorifies them, disrespects the victims, and motivates potential shooters.
