The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is a story about two socially injustice rival gangs. Johnny is the greatest hero of the Outsiders. Ponyboy and Johnny were taking a walk when they got jumped by a bunch of socs, one of them called Bob. Johnny killed Bob to save Ponyboy. Dally hid them inside an abandoned church. The church catches on fire, but some kids are trapped in it. Ponyboy and Johnny ran into the church to save them, and Johnny died due to injuries. Johnny is the greatest hero of the Outsiders because he is protective and brave. A group of socs jumped Ponyboy and Johnny, they pushed Ponyboy's head into a fountain and almost drowned him. Johnny himself was terrified too, but he kept himself together and saved himself and Ponyboy. Another example of why Johnny is the greatest hero in the Outsiders is he's brave. Johnny saw some kids trapped in a burning church and ran in to save them. Shut up. We're goin' get you out! Johnny wasn't behaving like his old self. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the door was blocked by flames, then pushed open the window and tossed out the nearest kid. I caught one quick look at his face; it was red-marked from falling embers and sweat-streaked. Johnny kept his emotions in check and kept himself together while inside a burning building to save the kids. Johnny had scars and burns, risking his life to save the trapped kids. He was able to keep calm and keep everyone else in control even though they were in a dangerous situation. Because he is brave and protective, Johnny is the greatest hero in the Outsiders. "A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself" (Joseph Campbell). A true hero is someone willing to sacrifice themselves and ignore their own gains for the sake of
Johnny is the best supporting character in The Outsiders. Johnny is Ponyboy’s closest friend. His mother and father are not involved in his life and do not really care about him. Therefore, while he was alive in The Outsider, S.E. Hinton decides to characterize Johnny as a thoughtful, brave, and fearful teenager.
The characters Johnny Cade, Cherry Valance, and Dallas Winston, could be considered heroes in the novel, The Outsiders, for several reasons. The character, Johnny Cade, can be considered a hero for his many good qualities, but his heroic actions in saving children from a church fire, ultimately resulted in his untimely death. The character, Cherry Valance, can be considered a hero because Cherry sacrificed her social life and reputation to do what was right. Additionally, the character, Dallas Winston can be considered a hero because he stays loyal to Johnny and Pony by lying to the cops about where they were. To begin, Johnny Cade is undoubtedly one of the most heroic characters in the novel.
Johnny is a hero because he saved kids from a flaming church. He and Ponyboy ran into the flaming church to save little kids from dying. In the process, Johnny broke his back and died in the hospital. That makes him a hero because he risked his life for some little kids he didn't know. In chapter 9 Johnny died a hero. He was missed by the entire gang, Dally and Ponyboy saw him as a hero.

Written by S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders is a fantastic book, exploring all ideas of person vs. person, person vs. self, and person vs. higher power. The main character, Ponyboy faces challenges dealing with lost, family, law, the higher class (known as the soc’s) and his innerself. The book starts with Ponyboy walking out of a movie theater only thinking about a ride home. When he finally gets to his house Darry, his older brother yells at him for walking by himself. Throughout the book Ponyboy has arguments with Darry, whom after their parents passed away becomes ponyboy and his other brother, sodapops gardien. The arguments get so bad that one day Ponyboy decides to run away. Ponyboy meets with his friend Johnny, sense Johnny already had problems
Johnny is a hero because not only did he save kids life at the church fire but he also saved Ponyboy's life. When they got in a fight with the socs and Bob was drowning Ponyboy Johnny stepped in and saved Ponyboy’s life. He wasn’t

When they arrived there was a field trip going on and there were kids inside the church. Johnny and Ponyboy jumped out of Dally’s car and ran inside to save the kids. When they were inside Johnny threw some kids out of the window to save them along with Ponyboy. After Pony helped save the kids Johnny pushed Pony out the window. The reason why Johnny is a hero because of him throwing the kids out of the window,is because Johnny stayed in the church and he got hurt instead of the kids and Pony. When they were about to get out of the church Ponyboys jacket caught on fire and Johnny got hit with a falling piece of
The outsiders book by S.E Hinton In The Outsiders, a fictional novel about fights and gangs, the author SE Hinton reveals lessons of life through Johnny Cade, an innocent boy in the middle of a hateful, hostile environment. Johnny is often described as an innocent puppy, but by the end of his life, he comes out of his shell due to certain events that take place around him. Throughout Johnny's life he reveals three strong aspects that are part of his personality; he is timid, good-hearted, and a follower. Johnny Cade is a prime example of a timid gangster.
By stabbing Bob, he also saved Pony from drowning by scaring the rest of the Socs. However where he genuinely shined, was when he jumped into the burning church in Windrixville to save the innocent children trapped inside. Sadly, by saving them, a log fell on him that later killed him. What I find special about Johnny, is that he was raised in a house where he got physically and emotionally abused by his parents. Yet he made the ultimate sacrifice anyway to save kids despite his background.
Johnny, despite what Dallas told him to do, went inside to try and help save all of the children that were trapped inside. Johnny demonstrates heroism in this act seeing how he could have let the kids in the church burn, however he did not think twice about heading inside to save all of the kids. There is no doubt that Johnny Cade from “The Outsiders” shows heroism in a variety of ways throughout the
Who do you think is the biggest hero in the outsiders? The biggest hero is Ponyboy some people think johnny is the hero. Ponyboy is the hero he saved kids from the burning church. Ponyboy was in the rumble and won. He also stands up for his brother.
Who is the real hero in the outsiders? Some people might think it is pony because he is the main character and it would make sense that S.E Hinton would make him the biggest hero in the book, but that is not what some people think. The real hero in the book the outsiders is Johnny. First of all Johnny was strong, helpful and smart. Jonny was not treated right from his mom and dad they fought and hit him to the point where they did not want him and he did not want to go home the only time in the the book that they cared was when Johnny was in the hospital and he dealt with that and he also helped the other boys with there problems.
Johnny is a hero because. He defended his friend. On pg.52 ponyboy says ¨you really killed him johnny huh¨ then johnny says ¨I had too they were drowning you pony. This quote shows me that johnny is a hero because. He defended his honor as a greaser and he defended his best friend ponyboy.
He also takes up for all of the Greasers and he is always there for them because they are like family to him and i think he will do anything to keep them safe. When they were in the fire Johnny gave Ponyboy the jacket so he wouldn’t get hurt but Johnny did get hurt because of the firewood. First,Johnny
