The intense need to be in front of a camera has always been apparent since my early childhood. I knew, at a young age, that I wanted to star in movies. It was an interest that sparked from an accomplished actor that would star in movies that I loved watching. Johnny Depp was my idol, and continues to be, and is what gave me the hope that I have today to be just like him. I have yearned for years to be admired and looked at as I have with him, and that certain spark holds true to my heart; I must become an actor. His confidence and the way he portrayed his characters had struck me in a way that held his performances so memorable, it made me look up to him as a leader to help me improve my skills. I want to dazzle the audiences with my performance just as he does, and being able to go to a 4 year University to acquire a Theatre degree will help me hone my talents for my

To get started, however, I have to pursue my ambition. I applied to Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI to join the theatre group and learn everything that has to do with stage and television. Then, I plan on transferring my credits to The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, California. and was accepted a week later after my audition in Detroit for their acting program, and was thrilled to find that I have a chance to finally get out on my own and go across the country to become a star. But due to financial issues, it seems almost impossible to follow those dreams. But I am determined to follow this path that has opened for me. These college’s will not only give me the opportunity to become an actress, but will provide for me special classes that will teach me advanced skills and knowledge that I will need to know upon entering that career. I want to be able to attend the academy and broaden

Chris Pontus states that Lateral violence, bullying and workplace harassment often are one and the same. Defining the different aspects of lateral violence Pontus explains that there are three categories which make up lateral violence: harassment, discrimination and bullying. Harassment is a form of unwelcome conduct ranging from unwanted comments to physical violence (Pontus, 2011). Discrimination includes a person being treated inversely and less favorably based on gender, race, sexual orientation or capability. Finally, workplace bullying is categorized as many events of unwarrantable actions of an individual or group geared to a person or group over a long period. To expand, Pontus explains that bullying behaviors are persistent, offensive,

“I really started dreaming... and broke out of my shyness when I got to Howard University. My first acting class was an Intro to Acting class with Professor Bay, who really broke me out of my shell, encouraged me to follow my dreams and make them a reality” (Gross). I’m going to talk about how to open the door of show business into Hollywood and show you how to potentially reach success. Many talented actors don’t succeed in show business because they forget the first rule: show business is a business. So what I’m going to tell you here briefly covers the business details behind the world of film, television, and theatre. In order to better understand your role in the larger scheme of show business, you need to understand the wants and needs of the wealthiest people in the industry. The business of acting is simple. You help others make money, and they’ll help you make money. But first, you need to figure out how show business really works.
It has always been one of the largest parts of my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve learned to manage it, make it work for me, and how to work with it best for my needs. I’ve been shaped by the media I and the people around me consume, and I’ve worked to try and make media with technology that would please those people. From my youngest and most formative moments, to this very day, I have existed in this kind of world. Because of this, I’ve been planning to go to film school for some time to broaden my horizons. I hope to gain experience and meet interesting people to work with. Working at a professional level has always been a dream of mine, whether that be by myself or with others as part of a studio. At the end of the day I want to do the highest quality work according to my ability, and to know that my work has entertained

Beginning Acting was a tremendous growing and learning experience, as an addition to my final year here at Salve Regina University. The course provided me the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and pursue a different set of skills pertaining to an actor. The exercises throughout the course allowed me to develop unique traits and qualities that actors embody. Moreover, the feedback offered by the professor was extremely beneficial as it allowed me to take into account new approaches and behavior, which may not have been explored without proper guidance. The critiques offered by the professor would later serve necessary for the following exercises. I also found it beneficial that each exercise was a continuation of the previous, but
“Talent” is not like a requirement for us to become a supposedly important person because we are, just in a different way. We have our own individual importance and as we have that on our own, we also passed through experiences in a different way. Sometimes slower, sometimes faster but that doesn’t mean we won’t be what we are encouraged to be. Passing through the experience to read this chapter gives more opportunity to deeply get a knowledge of what passing through acting experience can
From a young age I have had a passion for sports. Not just a single sport but all sports. The understanding of the sport either it be soccer, baseball, football, or rugby came easy to me and I was always thought of an important player of the team from my coaches. I love being on the team yet still performing individually. Late in my teens another passion developed and it too came easy for me. This passion would be the performing on stage; Acting. The beautiful art of Acting has recently impacted my life in a way I cannot describe. After success with other performances at my high school, I have been encouraged to seriously step foot into the world of acting. Being enrolled at Indian River State College will allow me to begin my journey and stay close to home but not for long. I plan to transfer to seek my Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and I may even double with a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts. I see my future as being someone who is in the spotlight. I plan on using my Bachelor’s Degree to achieving my goal of becoming a head football coach of an unranked University team and raising them to the top and proceed to the Professional level. My focus will not be on me but on my players. I will seek to find what motivates them individually and combine them to produce a winning team. On a different note, I just might use my Bachelor’s Degree to pursue my passion of acting. It is hard to describe the feeling of being on stage in front of an audience and see their
“Every day is a creative act: a step closer to becoming who you want to be.” Tom Hiddleston certainly has taken some very large steps in fulfilling his dream as a world-renowned actor, film producer, and musician. He has enjoyed success on the stage, and more recently in the film world. He has become my favorite actor because of his amazing acting skills, his unique personality, and his willingness to try anything.
Next up for the young actor and a role on FOX’s new series 21 JUMPSTREET, at first he turned down the part. Depp thought it beneath him, or at least wrong for a serious artiste. But no one else was right for the part, so the producers asked Depp again and this time he took it. The show took off, with Depp as its most popular character. Very rapidly, he became a teen idol, worshipped for his looks, and was receiving 10,000 letters a month. From the start he did not like being a “Heart-throb” as he was dubbed by his largely female fans. He wanted out, but Depp was trapped.
