Starting with the EPQ, E stand for extraversion-introversion, P stands for psychoticism and Q for neuroticism. John could be consider with high extraversion because even though when he was little he was alone and bullied but regards that he always seek for attention like being a Scout Boy and as he grew he was more extrovert he was always for the neighborhood, throwing event and assisting to charities. For psychoticism, he would score high because he was very aggressive and violent. For neuroticism he will also score high because his emotions were very unstable, he was constantly bullied by his father and others but still he tried to grab their attention. He had anxiety problems because the way his father treated him and also the fact he was bullied at a young age and keep it as a secret lead to mental and emotional difficulties. For the Big five that stand for OCEAN. Openness, John will be low because he was not an open person, he lacked imagination and he do what people told him. For conscientiousness I think he would be between the middle not low but not high because he was a hard-working person and organized with his crime like the idea of first making the victim grave before killing it and also he was not very conscientious. Extroversion stands the same as the big three and he would score high. For agreeableness, he would score low because he was a cold and ruthless person with his victims. Neuroticism stands the same as the big three which will be high. I would consider John as a psychopath because he never form an emotional attachment or feel empathy with his victims, he was very manipulative and make his victims trust him. He would look like a normal educated man with a decent job, but he was another

John's life seemed to be one major drama after another; he didn't have a good male role model as a kid, and it seems he never was able to get on track. What was amazing about his life was the number of problems that he seemed to get into and how he wriggled out of them (with the help of a friendly person who just happened to meet him) only to run into more problems.

His classes were for 8-12th! He began each day at 6! After lunch it was P.E., but he retired that to go and study in his room. John always dressed in a blue uniform of tailcoat, waistcoat, and breeches, with silver buckles on his shoes. It is shown that John changes in the end with his conservations with Virgil;“John shook his head. ‘Haven’t you figured it out yet, Virgil? There are no such things as dead ends. Only people who find dead ends. I sometimes wonder if that’s the only thing I have to teach”(Taylor 337).
John is a caring person. He is young so he is open to new ideas like the
The major development seen in John’s character takes place near the end of the story, as he seeks a more pure life in a remote location. John feels as though he’s been poisoned by this new civilization “I ate civilization. It poisoned me; I was defiled. And then, I ate my own wickedness.” (241). He wants to not only live a noble life, but to make this life on his own, so chooses an abandoned lighthouse, far enough away from the disaster of a community he views Brave New World as a negative place with negative ideas. This is a major change from the identity he showed before being poisoned by this civilization, but once again he stays true to his values by leading this new life on his own. John’s strong moral values prove to be the one constant in his character.

He finally seemed to a secure job and things seemed alright. After a couple of months working as a reported John realized that he did not fit this kind of job. "Due to his lack of experience John was never given a chance to show his talent and he was given unimportant assignments with no value"(Morrow 75). Numerous times he failed to show up at work and was soon after fired.
John is brave, mature, and hardworking. John is brave because, it is very risky being a spy and he cannot get caught. John is mature because, he is a tutor and tutors have to be mature. John is fearless because, when he got captured by the British he kept calm and got out of there. Throughout Time Enough For Drums John is brave, hardworking, and strict.

In Didion’s essay “John Wayne: A Love Song” she argues that John Wayne influenced her dreams and shaped her by playing the character of an ideal man. In this essay Didion brings two different personalities of John Wayne: John Wayne the Character and John Wayne the the human. Starting from the beginning of her essay, Didion talks about his good character and how that influenced the dreams of America. Here, Didion is reinforces the existence of this admirable character and has already defined him as an ideal man.

Although many confuse mental illness with deviance they are both very different things that can be related with each other due to the fact that having a mental illness is not normal and being deviant is also not normal.
