John Akers stated in his " 12 problems caused by students with phones," that teens can take advantage of the usage of phones, using them to take innapropriate photos of students, bullying others, and texting other fellow students. These are just a few of the many complications caused by students using phone in class. Phones can be advantages in classrooms, if teens don't take advantage of them. Phones in school can also be advantages to some of the students that have access to them. They can allow students to contact parents if there is a problem, such as they forgot their homework at home, or they need a ride after school.
To begin, teens have the privlage of having phones at school, but some can abuse that privlage. They will use their phone in class, or take innapropriate photos of students. As a result of these actions, their phone privlages will soon dissapate. In John Aker's "12 problems caused by students with phones," he stated " Photographing exam answers to use during the exam." This is an example of students abusing their phone privlages.

Close to 70 percent of schools in the united states have banned the usage of phones due to some of these reasons. In John Aker's 12 problems cause by students with phones, he quoted, " Cheating (i.e. recording, sending, or recieving test questions and /or answers." Some may think that having a phone out during a test may help or improve the students learning ability by telling the answers, but that is not the case. Sometimes, the internet can give the wrong answers, thus, dropping the students test scores. Students that have access to phones may cyberbully eachother. That could double the amount of bullying in schools today. Millions of kids and teens each year get bullied, which leads to more suicides. If phones were put up during school, there could possibly be less bullying. The students would have less access to
Although phones help with the learning process they are used a social status. Most kids have cell phones, and for those of which don’t, the ones who do share. They can be used to record group discussions and it gives us a chance to be more independent(Doc #3). On the other hand they are used as a status symbol. Jesse Scaccia says, “when their phones ring while the teacher is talking everyone laughs”(Doc
What, you think using cellphones at school is a good idea. Now days cell phones have so many used apps and while student's are at school they are attempting to look on their phones. Everywhere you go in this present time all you see is toddlers on up to adults with phones because they are so addicted to technology. People would rater buy new phones that the company comes out with instead of buying things that they need because they think they can survive with a cell phone. Cell phones are very helpful but so many people have took advantage of that and have become so addicted to them. Now days in this particular time everything is at everyone's fingertips and they get what they want when they want it. When they ask someone for something they want or need that they can't get on a cell phone, they expect to get it right at that second that they ask for it. Using cell phones at school is a bad idea. School's should not allow student's to use their cell phones at school.
Having phones as technology in school could help or hinder students education. Some of the reasons phones should be used during class is because it helps with them study, while people say why phones shouldn’t be used is because they may or may not educate them and students spend their being on phones instead of working. Think about the amount of time you send and receive those 200 texts a day and think about the time you can be studying rather than
Kids would be better off if phones were allowed in schools. Phones provide students with a learning tool and allows them to earn teachers trust. Also, when kids have their phones they are happy, and happy kids are smarter kids. Cell phones can be used for a lot more than talking. Cell phones can be used in the classroom to help students with their assignments. Teens can use the calendars to record due dates for homework and tests. As teens we have grown to rely on our cell phones for all of our communication. Plus, students need cell phones in case of an emergency.
To start, children can take pictures when they’re not supposed to while having cell phones in school. They can cheat by taking pictures of the test and sharing it to their friends. Maybe even the whole school. In the text, “Cell Phones in School” it states, “This allows for a student to take an exam, take a photo of the exam, and send the picture to someone for the purposes of cheating” (Lee et al). This can cause some serious problems. In addition, kids can take pictures of notes before the test and discreetly look at them during the test while the teacher isn’t noticing. “pictures may be taken at home of notes that can easily be hidden within a phone and later used to cheat on an exam” (Safe Search Kids). This is worse. Lastly, having kids take pictures when they’re not supposed can cause cyberbullying. Kids can take pictures of other kids (that can be something embarrassing) and post it on social media. Cyberbullying can affect students’ classwork by not focusing, or not going to school. According to the text, “Cell Phones in School” it states “Camera phones can be used to take embarrassing photographs of classmates in private areas, such as restrooms and locker rooms, and share them with others electronically or posting videos on YouTube” (Safe Search Kids). When they’re doing this by taking pictures and

Although cell phones can be a distraction in school because of social media, they come to a good cause if teachers actually look at it. Phones can be in a good cause because, when students go on field trips. The students would be able to capture field trip memories and post them on social media, the school could have a school website and the students would be able to post that to the website. Students would be able to imagine Historical figures and how it is used. Students would be able to research and look up things like pictures on instagram they have there on pages for Historical events. When students are in science they can record science steps and post, then instagram so people could get the video off of them and try them.
Author of “Students Hail End of Cellphone Ban” includes: “Many teachers embrace using phones in class to conduct quick surveys, serve as calculators or access the internet”(Brody 3). Cell phones are becoming an essential tool in the classroom because of new capabilities. Teachers can connect more with their students through activities involving cellphones. Cell phones have a sort of “pull” to them, and by using them for school activities, some pay more attention. Brody also adds: “Now there are phone apps that let students connect with interactive whiteboards at the front of the classroom”(Brody 3). The way teenagers are learning is changing with the times. Instead of learning new material through pen and paper, teens can learn it through their phones and participate in activities that utilize them properly and educationally. Author of “Smartphones Go to School”, Doug Arnett, quotes: “Many teachers now want students to use phones for homework and in class;from research to quizzes”(Wells 1). If teachers can encourage students to use their phones to complete class work, they may be more willing. Teens use their phones every day for a variety of things. In the article Teens’ Newest Use for Smartphones? Writing School Papers on Them.” student Samantha DeWitt quotes: ”Oh yeah”, says Samantha Dewitt, a sophomore at King Philip

Some educators insist that cell phones provide a unique opportunity to capitalize on the learning experience in the modern classroom. In conclusion having phones in class could help out students a lot. It will help with school work and it can help students in emergencies
Many students have used their cell phones to share answers to tests and quizzes, and to report inaccurate and offensive information about other students and their school. Cell phones can be distractions in the school environment, evading classroom time and reducing student’s academic success.
Phones at school can be used for cheating, phones can be used as cheating devices during exams. Students would say that they would want phones at school but phones at school can cause a distraction
Many students will play on their phones and not pay attention to the teacher and the lesson that the teacher is giving. Students are sent to school to learn and by playing with cell phones during classes students are not learning anything that will help them with a career or their futures. Students can also text friends in other classrooms and not have their minds in the classroom that they are in. Students may eventually stop coming to school because they can just stay home and use their cell phones and do other things.
Even though phones can be used in school for educational purpose, as in taking test or getting research, they can also be a hazard. Many teachers and even parents are worried about whether or not phones need to be band. There are many reasons to why phones should or shouldn't be banned, but more of the problems that teachers run into are against cell phones not for. With kids bullying or being bullied through social media and even text and videos, cheating may occur, along with texting in class and not paying attention in class.
Cell phones aren’t usually that big so it gives the students a great opportunity to cheat. Most of the time during a test, students go to different websites to look for answers .Since they get free Wi-Fi in classrooms; it even becomes easier for them to cheat. In addition to that students can also trade answers with other students in class through Facebook, sms, kik, message and other social apps.Nowadays, cell phones have become one of the most useful source in America. In other words, a month earlier, I was looking through some photographs in my library class .The pictures were about students who cheats on class works, tests, quizzes and homework and can even go to Gail for plagiarism. On the other hand, today’s students take this as a joke. They don’t realize how it affects their grades. You can cheat a lot in life but one day there will be nothing to cheat from or anyone to get the answers from. In spite of this it is not always mandatory for someone to depend on a source more than themselves. This was another reason to explain why students should not be allowed to bring cell phones to school.
