Dato Jimmy Choo is a fashion designer who was born in Penang, Malaysia on 15 Nov 1948. Choo Yeang Keat is his real name. he was educated in Shih Chung Primary School. he comes from a poor family and was involved in shoemaking since he was small as his father is a shoe cobbler. Also, he was determined to follow the footsteps of his father in this field. He made his very first pair of shoes in the age of 11. Afterwards, he became a trainee in Hong Kong Shoe Shop located at Munti Street to learn a trade from a popular shoemaking Mr Wong Sam Chai. He graduated in 1983 and now the college is a part of fashion college in London. After graduating, he then worked in a shoemaking factory where he started from the bottom to learn the process of making shoes. He launched his very first shop in Hackney in 1986. Yet, it did not last long for him to build the reputation. His shoes were featured in Vogue magazine within 2 years. Thus, he became famous and Princess Diana also wore his shoes everywhere she went.
