Everyone adjusts to change differently. For example, the character Lou Ann, had a baby and her husband left her. There are several ways that she could have handled it. On one hand she could have said, ?To heck with him, good riddance.? But she chose to take it hard, she slipped into a form of depression and was easily pushed around by others, because she was afraid of them leaving her if they got mad. In almost all stories, the main character or characters usually have many personal experiences that change their views in one way or another. Three good examples of this are Abuela Invents the Zero ,Little Women ,and Home .One of these stories has one major experience that quickly affects that character's views. Another story includes many small events and moments that in the end affect a certain character's views and habits. The last story shows how previous life experiences turnout to not only not benefit but actually hurt. Notice that there can be many different kinds of situations that have an influence on a character and can change a character for better or for worse.

Carter Aarestad was born on May 24, 1996 into something he would do for the rest of his life; farming. Farming may sound pretty simple, but deep down there are a lot of things a farmer does. Before you can become a farmer, you have to learn how to farm. There are three main things you need to learn. You need to learn how to plant, spray, and harvest. Throughout life people find themselves in tough situations. Situations that change them. In Don Aker’s novel The First Stone, we are taken through Chad Kennedy also known as Reef’s journey of how he went from being a young offender that couldn’t have cared much about others to becoming a person who shows kindness to others. We are shown that by being around certain individuals people are able to change, people are also able to change from doing certain actions, and people can change from learning from their mistakes. People can change the way they are as demonstrated by taking advantage of opportunities provided to them resulting in the ability to make better choices.
