Jeannette Walls grew up in the 1970’s with her family traveling around the desert states. She was a young, fearless child that enjoyed adventure, family, and the ability to live anywhere. Jeannette was independent at a young age, cooking food, caring for her siblings, and growing up with very little. Jeannette was a skinny girl when she was young and was always dirty from her mini adventures.
Jeannette Walls is a critically-acclaimed author (of both biographies and works of fiction), despite her unorthodox upbringing. Her parents supported giving their children excessive amounts of freedom, even though they were clearly too young to be taking care of themselves, causing Walls to light herself on fire while cooking herself a meal at only 3 years old. Also, they did not believe in proper treatment, hence why they force Jeannette to leave the hospital, although she is not finished with treatment, and still had third-degree burns all over her body. Considering her father would waste all of their money on cigarettes and alcohol, there were periods of her life where she was homeless, and would have to sleep in a cardboard box, that of which she shared with her three other siblings (and this is if they were lucky; otherwise, they would be forced to sleep in their car). However, a young Jeannette’s father would manipulate her into thinking it was “an adventure,” causing her to get

Ruby paved the way for Civil Rights actions, this makes her a Civil Rights Activist Leader and an inspiration to many.
“The pen is an instrument of discovery rather than just a recording implement. If you write a letter of resignation or something with an agenda, you're simply using a pen to record what you have thought out ("Billy Collins Quotes").” This was written by poet Billy Collins. He was a class clown in the schoolhouse of American poetry. Most of his work was not noticed until 1990 when he wrote questions about angels which was selected for the national poetry series (Cunningham "Billy Collins" 2017).

When I was a child, reading meant a magical story that I believed would come true when I grew up. Reading today is antithetic to how it was back in my childhood days. Having a want to read, meant that the library would become my best friend. As a child, my parents wanted me to stay active, which meant I was either at a ball tournament, camping, playing outside, or playing games with my friends, but I made sure I read before bed or on my way to and from ball games. When I was in preschool and elementary school my favorite books to read were The Rainbow Fish and the Junie B. Jones series. The Rainbow Fish was my favorite book because I remember seeing the cover of the book with all its vibrant colors that drew me to read it, which looking at the pictures were good enough for my attention span. Junie B. Jones book series were my favorite in grade school because I could relate Junie B. Jones life because I was the same age going through the same issues. The series was popular for children my age at our school, which we made a competition of who can read all the books first.

During the 18th century, Cork was recovering from an economic setback due to tempestuous times of the 17th century. During this time, the power of the crown, which was in alignment with Protestant ideals of Reformation, was re-established over Ireland. Reformation occured in the 16th century and essentially formed one of the three branches of Christianity, Protestantism, (The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1). Reformation was initiated in England following King Henry VIII’s attempt to produce a male heir by marrying Anne Boleyn, resulting in the pope ceasing communication
