What really defines James Shaw as a hero in this instance were his actions. His quick thinking. His bravery, his ability to act in a life or death situation. In his words, another opening like the one he had would not appear again so he had to act on the window. He states, “If it came down to it, he was going to have to work to kill me.” Though 4 are reported deceased and several were injured, his actions saved many lives of
Based upon what I have read in the article I believe that James Shaw Jr. Is a hero. I believe he is a hero because during the waffle house shooting he risked his life by unarming the suspect, Saved the lives of the survivor's in the shooting, ended the thirty-four-hour manhunt on the shooter Travis Reinking, and lived to tell about it. James Shaw Jr. Ended a thirty-four-hour manhunt by disarming the perpetrator to, as he states in the passage " save his own life. Though his actions consequently saved more than just his own as many people walk away alive that day along with a few minor injuries. Shaw not only could have lost his life in this incident, but he could have also left his four-year-old daughter behind. Shaw threw himself at the shooter
He risked his own life and he turned into a Clapper. He pulls the fire alarm to save Connor and Risa. Connor is a hero because he shoots a traq bullet into a guards leg so the three unwinds can get away. He takes a baby that's on the doorstep and saves it. He figures out who killed the Goldens.
Base on what I read I can ensure you that James Shaw Jr. is a hero James Shaw is a 29 year-old man who stopped a gunman by the name of Travis Reinking from shooting up a Waffle House. James Shaw is now recovering from a burn from him, grabbing the barrel of the gun and a gunshot gaze. James Shaw risk his life to save other at a local Waffle house. In his speech he states that he
A hero can be many different things. A firefighter, a police officer, but a hero can also be anyone who does something selfless. If you've ever picked up a dollar and turned it in, you did something selfless. In the book “The Outsiders” Johnny Cade, Dallas Winston, and Ponyboy Curtis are all heros. The book is about a 14 year old boy living in the 1960’s with his 2 brothers after his parents died. The plot of the book is basically surrounded by the fact that Ponyboy and his gang known as the greasers are the underdogs and seen as bad compared to the higher class “rich kids” that they calls Socs. After Ponyboy and Johnny are jumped and Ponyboy’s life is put at risk, Johnny kills one of the Socs who is hurting Ponyboy and
I believe Bob Shaw is a hero. I think he is a hero because he showed many of the characte-
Not everyone is a hero but they do show it in their lifetime at least once, sometimes it is unknowingly or deliberately. He showed it unknowingly because he did not know when or why the church is going to catch on fire when he saw the church on fire he just went in their and tried to save the kids. The 14-year-old did not even think about his life even once before he went into the flaming church, all he had on his mind was to save the kids from the church. Heroes not only save people but also help them by being loyal and honest, Ponyboy helped Johnny escape when he killed Bob, Ponyboy was being a loyal friend that cared about Johnny. Being able to help your friend when he/she killed someone is a big thing that only some people could do, in this case, it was Ponyboy.
Johnny Cade is hero because he was one of the Greasers that were saving the children in burning church without thinking. Johnny is a hero
Heroes had existed all the time in different part of the world and many of them risk their life’s to perform brave deeds in order to save people. One of them is Chris Mints after having the courage of putting himself between the gunman and the students as a wall protection he was shot seven times. Unfortunately many people had die in Oregon school shooting after the hero Mints try to stop it saving as many lives as possible. After all the souls that where lost one thing is sure, many others were saved by the hero that risk many things that he had in change of people
Since at home,he had a terrible life,it would be thought about that he could have left those kids to die. No he jumped into the face of danger to save younger souls unlike what Darry would have done. And that’s what is called a hero, not just someone who runs around fighting crime in tights. No,that’s a superhero, but a hero would be police, firemen, ambulance, parents, and teachers. So a hero is just someone selfless not selfish.
Heroes are not people who think about themselves. Instead, they are people who do things they think are best for their country. For example, “The rehabilitation was rigorous and I pushed it, building back my muscle and learning how to use the prosthetic leg.” (SB 58) As Tristan Eugene Segers says, he was driving his armored vehicle as a homemade bomb explodes right under him and shoots his right leg off. He has not given up, Segers has run a marathon and has a specially
In “The Complexities and Processes of Racial Housing discrimination” by Vincent J. Roscigno, Diana L. Karafin, and Griff tester, the main concept of racial disparity and inequality among neighborhoods is discussed, and how those inequalities became to be. They first highlight the wide range of potentially exclusionary practices, through qualitative and quantitative data comprised of over 750 verified housing discrimination cases (Roscigno, p. 162). Citing the U.S. Census, it is found that Blacks, compared to Hispanics and Asians, continue to experience high levels of residential segregation. This is done through discriminatory practices, whether they be by exclusionary or non-exclusionary methods. Even after the passing of the Fair Housing Act in 1988, discrimination against Blacks and Hispanics decreased somewhat, though African Americans still appeared to take part in racial steering, and Hispanics continued to have limitations in regards to opportunities and access to rental units (Roscigno, p. 163).
As you can see, the population has been increasing rapidly over the last 10 years, very much so, due to the large amount of immigrants. Also due to the large amounts of immigrants, the fertility rates would probably increase because the most countries that the immigrants come from have very high fertility rates.
Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.
