From its beginnings within the time of Muhammad around 610, the Islamic Civilization's conquests led to its expansion to Persia and Egypt by 656, and to Africa, Spain, and other parts of Persia by 750. Around the end of 750, the Islamic empire was spread from western Persia, down south, and all the way to Spain. Some major mainsprings that caused such a movement are the following: the conquests of the military and how those who were overcome had the new influence of a Muslim presence in their societies, the aid coming from the government of those nations conquered to help convert to Islam, and the spread of the Islam religion through merchants traveling along trade routes helped in doing so.
After Mohammed's death in 632 CE, faithful Muslims waged wars to spread their faith beyond the Arabian peninsula. Even though those who were conquered were not forced to convert to Islam, the presence of Islam after the captures were enough for a magnitude of people to convert. The Muslims were commanded to, “‘Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not be the aggressors.’” Any wars that were fought against unbelievers were to be in representation of God and were to lead by example of the Prophet (Document 5). So, they brought their faith with them into battle, and therefore the

The spread itself, however, was an outcome of the Muslim’s battle tactics. The Muslims were brutal when it came to the way they fought their battles and the end
Around the years of 632-750 C.E., Islamic followers created an empire that reached across North Africa into Europe and dominated the Middle East. Due to several aspects leading up to expansion such as war, geography, and establishing an organized impressionable government, the Islamic empire grew rapidly.
According to the documents A, and B, Islam expanded from military conquest and peace treaties. Document A talks about how they conquered land and how fierce the Muslims were. It also says that “In the battle of al-Yarmuk cetin Muslim women took part and fought violently. Among them was Hind, daughter of ‘Utbah and mother of Mu’awivah ibn-abi-Sufyan, who repeatedly exclaimed, “Cut the arms of these non-Muslims with your swords!” It also says that it was one of the bloodiest battles ever fought. “The battle they fought at al-Yarmuk was of the fiercest and bloodiest kind. Document B is about the Treaty of Tudmir. It talks about how they will just make the people of Tudmir “pay one dinar every year, together with four measures of wheat, four measures
The Islamic empire expanded in many different ways. One of the ways the Islamic Empire expanded is conquering land. In document A Islam killed the Greeks and conquered some of their land. This means that that the Greeks were taken over by Islam so Islam had more land than before. Another way the Islamic Empire expanded was they made a treaty with Tudmir. In document B “The slaves will not be killed or forced in any way but will be slaves.” This means that Islam had a truce with Tudmir. Islam will have a bigger civilization from getting more slaves/warriors from getting slaves from conquered
In 610 A.D., in a cave on the Arabian Peninsula, a merchant from Mecca, Islam named Muhammad was meditating when he was interrupted by the Angel Gabriel, who told him to recite and spread the words that Allah is the one God, which he would later be spread and known as Islam. So, why did Islam spread so quickly? Some people argue that Islam spread so quickly because of trade, military conquest, or treaties, taxes, and toleration. However, the main reasons why Islam spread so quickly was because of military conquest and taxes, treaties, and toleration. To begin with,

The Islamic civilization spread to encompass such an extensive empire by using their resources and becoming a peaceful civilization with peaceful people.
Did you know that many individuals, including Al-Khwarizmi, Lubna, Abbas Ibn Firnas, and Abu al-Qasim al Zahrawi, played pivotal roles in shaping the Islamic Empire? The Islamic Golden Age witnessed remarkable advancements across various fields, thanks to the contributions of these scholars. They made significant achievements in mathematics, literature, aviation, and medicine, leaving a lasting impact on the empire's intellectual legacy. Together, these intellectual, cultural, and legal developments shaped the Islamic Empire's legacy and left a
The rise of the Islamic religion and the growth of Islam’s territory happened rather quickly. During the life of their prophet and Islam’s originator, Muhammad, and interestly it even increased after his death, but how? Islam spread so fast after it was originated because of three things: trade, military conquest, and the appeal of its government.
The people of Hims (the Syrians) felt that the Muslims were better rulers then the Byzantines. In Document F The Origins of the Islamic State “We like your rule and justice far better than the state of oppression and tyranny in which we were. The army of Heraclius we shall indeed … repulse from the city.” This is when the Hims broke off with the byzantines and decided to help the Muslims. Because of the Byzantines oppressive rule. In 1954 when the vietnam war broke out between the communist north and democratic south America stepped in. Just like the fight in the story The Origins of the Islamic the fight had three group. America was protecting the south just like the Muslims protected the Hims. They didn’t have the same ending the
In the beginning, Muhammad started to preach his teachings, called Islam, in a populous trade center known as Mecca. Though, at first, his preachings were resisted as the people worried that idol worship and pilgrimages, or journeys to a sacred place, would end. This, in fact, proved to be true as with enough support, Muhammad ordered that the idols be destroyed and that a shrine dedicated to Allah be built instead, making Mecca the birthplace and foundation of Islam. However, within 100 years of Muhammad’s death in 632 CE, Islam had spread to multiple other countries including Europe, North Africa, and Asia. The question is, how did Islam spread so rapidly over the course of 100 years? Briefly put, Islam spread rapidly due to trade routes, military campaigns, and non-Muslim converts.
There are many reasons why Islam spread so quickly. The main reasons are trade, military conquest, and religion. Trade played the biggest role of why it spread so quickly because it went to Spain, Africa, and Europe. Military conquest because a large amount of land was conquered by Islam military. Another reason for Islam spreading is their religious views and spiritual ideas.
Lastly, Islam spread quickly through military campaigns which is depicted in “The Spread of Islam (map)” (Doc. C) This map shows how the people that were conquered by the Muslims chose to convert to Islam
The spread of Islam and Christianity. Both belief systems spread both rapidly and were efficient religions that brought great change for the greater good. They were the largest religions in the entire world and both happened to be monotheistic. Both religions share a similar history and tradition. Christianity appealed to the people because of their unwillingness to live on and how hopeless they were to move forward in poverty. Travel played an enormous role in conversion because of the missionaries sent out to unknown lands to spread the faith through trading routes (Christianity) and contacts (Islam). Islam prospered, on the other hand, with a vision of the angel Gabriel from Muhammed (became a god messenger and prophet of Allah). Interactions with other civilizations developed the Islamic World. These new religions led to more growth in the aspects of their social, economic, and political systems in addition to influencing other upcoming religions in history.
Islam is a major world religion. Its origin can be traced back to 610 CE in Arabia. The basis of this religion is the revelations to the prophet Mohammad. Dissatisfied with his life, he traveled to deserts, hills, and the wilderness surrounding Mecca, where he lived, to meditate and reflect. He became a new man through his revelations, which many of his followers believe Allah transmitted to him through his angel Gabriel. Islam was originally an Arab religion, but many different beliefs and practices were added to it, making it extremely popular and aiding in its rapid spread. This new religion spread to many different areas surrounding Arabia, both under Mohammad and after his death. The Muslim Empire grew to encompass Spain and
One reason Islam spread fast was because Muslims used force. From the beginning, Muhammad believed that Arab Muslims should not attack other Muslims. However, they could raid non-Muslims and take their things. These were called ghazu raids (Document D). Later the raids got bigger and became military campaigns and spread across the middle east, North Africa, and into Spain (Document C). Without force, Islam would not have spread so quickly.
