It actually took sometime to see Isadora Duncan as an important person in changing the country because of the way she would danced. Not until she went and travel to perform at a theater at London, that's when they started to like what they saw in the way she danced. Isadora Duncan was important by both in arts and history. She believed in equal rights for women and did not think a couple had to be married to have children. Isadora had two children, Deirdre and Patrick, by two different men. She was not married to either of them. She also did not hide the fact that she was bisexual. She had a number of lovers, both men and women. Isadora was was really into fighting for equal women's right for marriage. This means that she thought that couples did not had to be married to have children. Western Iowa Tech Community College draws all kinds of people in from a variety of different states. Western Iowa Tech is located in Sioux City, Iowa. One of the students that it drew it is Alexis Johnson. Alexis is a freshman attending WIT this year. There are many reasons on why you would choose a school and hers is very specific. Alexis chose to attend WIT for its has an outstanding Police Science program. She is enrolled in the forensic science program for a very inspiring reason. Her aunt and uncle were involved in a bad car crash about 5 years ago, which resulted in Alexis’s uncle being paralyzed from the waist down. This not only has affected her way of life but her future as well. The driver of the other car was drunk. The drunk driver that was involved in the car accident with her aunt and uncle was only put in jail for 6 months and this was his 3rd offense of driving while intoxicated. Not only is Alexis against drunk driving but it also motivated her to want to become a cop to help stop drunk drivers.
Born on May 4, 1844, in Martinsburg, Virginia, Boyd was the eldest of the eight children of Benjamin Reed and Mary Rebecca Boyd (Abbot). the age of 11, Boyd rode a horse into the family's home during a party to protest her exclusion from an adult dinner party and asked, “Well, my horse is old enough, isn’t he?”, which displayed her strong-willed, high-spirited and quick-witted personality (Moore). Boyd was able to receive a good education, and was able to attend the Mount Washington Female College in Baltimore, Maryland, even though her family were not the wealthiest. (Abbot).
On February 21, 1933, Mary Kate Waymon and John Divine Waymon begot a child named Eunice Kathleen Waymon in Tryon, North Carolina. She learned to play piano at the age of 3 and sang in her church's choir. Growing up, she wanted to be the first African American concert pianist. Eunice taught piano and worked as an accompanist for other performers when she attended Juilliard; however, she had to leave school after she ran out of funds.
