Introducing sex education in the schools of India is an important issue. A 2007 ministry of women and child development study shows that over 50 percent of children are sexually abused. Sex is still considered a taboo in India. Parents feel embarrassed to talk openly with their children in this regard. Due to the ignorance of sex education they fall victim to AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Many NGOs are trying to create awareness on AIDS. This could make the children open up their problems and help the parents root out the cause. Interaction with the friends of their children also would give an idea about their background and the minds of the younger lot. The parents should take in their children as confidants and warm them against developing friendships with immoral friends.
There has been a rise in incidents of physical abuse to children. According to a WHO study over 50 percent children have faced one or more forms of sexual abuse. Children fall victim to the advances of elders. According to a survey, 50 percent children are abused by people known to them. They keep silent and live with the trauma throughout their lives. Sex education can supply our young people with the tools to report and resist abusive behaviors, and provide them with a forum for expressing their fears and feelings honestly and openly. In a world, full of exploitation, children are the most vulnerable section of our society. They need to be taught the difference between gentle touch and bad touch in order to protect themselves from various forms of child abuse.
Many psychologists have argued that sex education has the potential to liberate us from socially organized sexual oppression. In addition it helps adolescents come to healthy terms with their sexual identities and overcome feelings of guilt shame. During the period of adolescence children
Bobbi Kristina Brown is in hospice in what may turn out to be her final days. Family members gather around her bedside for a never-ending prayer vigil. It should be a quiet time for her and her family members, but it isn’t. A storm is raging in spite of the soft music playing in the background and the lit candles. Someone entered the room and snapped a picture of Bobbi Kristina. Then he or she tries to sell it to the highest bidder. According to TMZ, July 7, 2015, this resulted in banning all members of Bobby Brown’s family from entering the room. Security at the hospice has orders to keep everyone out, except for a few key members. The only ones exempt from the ban is Bobby Brown, Pat Houston, Cissy Houston, and anyone else involved with Bobbi
In 1913, sex education became a topic that was found to be an important education tool. Since then, this form of education has been a hot and debatable topic among many Americans. The original reason for sex education classes was to reduce problems such as sexually transmitted illnesses and prostitution. In recent years, abstinence has become the focus of sex education curriculum. Abstinence means refraining from sex completely. Although, it is the only one-hundred percent way to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies, abstinence-only instruction should not be the only form of sex education taught. Our youth need to know about all aspects of sex. This intails how to protect them if they choose to become sexually
In 1608, George Kendall, who was a captain of the British Crown and a member of the first council at Jamestown, was the first person to be sentenced to death by the Virginia government in the U.S. George Kendall was a spy of Spain and he offered the British Crown’s secret information to Spain. For this reason, George Kendall was executed by a firing squad (Grizzard and Smith 108-109). The death penalty, also as known as capital punishment, can be defined as a sentence of execution for criminals such as terrorists, murderers, or spies. The death penalty are nine methods to execute criminals, which are “hanging, shooting by firing squad, shooting, beheading, lethal injection, stoning, gas chamber, electrocution, and falling from an unknown height.”
A subject that is talked about a lot in today’s society is whether or not kids should receive sex education in public schools. With rates of teen pregnancy and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases on the rise, it is essential that school aged adolescents receive appropriate sex education courses. Though many parents across the nation believe that it is crucial to curriculum, how much they should be taught and what exactly should be taught is up for dispute. Articles such as “Abstinence and Abstinence-only Education: A Review of U.S. policies and Programs” written by John Santelli, Mary A. Ott, Maureen Lyon, Jennifer Rogers, Daniel Summers and Rebecca Schleifer and “The Impact of Abstinence and Comprehensive Sex and STD/HIV Education Programs on Adolescent Sexual Behavior” Douglas B. Kirby analyze the two types of sex education in the U.S. and their effectiveness on teens. In “Abstinence and Abstinence-only Education: A Review of U.S. policies and Programs” Santelli et al. claims that even though sex education programs that only offer abstinence-only instruction are ethically flawed, abstinence from sexual activity is efficient behavioral choice for teenagers to make. In order to support their claim, the authors focus on the federal government’s involvement on funding for these abstinence programs and the censorship of the information that they portray. In “The Impact of Abstinence and Comprehensive Sex and STD/HIV Education Programs on Adolescent Sexual Behavior,”
So many teens go through all of these changes and turmoil in their lives completely alone and uneducated, or even made uncomfortable by it all. Schools refraining from teaching proper etiquette of sex and personal health care won’t fix any problems. They are often written off to just keep it to themselves, and so some certain dangers are presented by this. Adolescents should absolutely be taught all the gory details about the human body and its functions.
Teenagers and sex are two words that are often heard together, whether we like it or not, teenagers are having sex. Some schools don’t teach sexual education and because of that students are suffering. There’s no way to make teenagers not have sex but there is away to teach them about having safe sex, that is why I believe that we need to require sexual education be taught in high school.
The majority educational facilities require the enrollment of middle school or early high school students in a necessary health class educators teach students about all of the “horrible” events that will happen to them if they have sex. Sexual education should not scare adolescents out of participating in sexual activities, it should teach them about their bodies and their bodies abilities. Adolescents are curious and some even become curious before they hit middle school. It is not worth it to bear the risk of not teaching the teenagers the safe way to perform a sexual activity in order to not corrupt their innocent minds. Teaching adolescents to avoid sex all together is only giving them additional drive to find out what it is like themselves. Therefore, sexual education is important in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, to allow the adolescent to learn about their body, and to give the adolescent the knowledge needed to make educated judgements about participating in sexual activities.
There is little to no argument from anyone that children should be not taught Sex Education. It’s a vital part of human existence and can prevent a lot of harm. However, the real question is not doing it but from whom is the adolescent hearing it from. It’s been common in the United States since the 1980’s for almost every school to offer some form of Sex education. Even as early as Elementary years. The real debate on the issue is whether or not the school system is doing it properly or even whether or not it’s their job at all.
It seems to be that sex is a major topic among teenagers, and young adults. This is a topic that is sometimes frowned upon by families. Some parents are afraid to discuss sex with their children, and there are others who just don’t feel the need to bring it up. Each child deserves the opportunity to be given the knowledge to protect themselves from the cons, as well as how to be prepared for the pros of having sex. They should be informed of everything that has to do with sex from the beginning to the end in order to understand the blessings, and situations that this thing called life unexpectedly throws at us. How to protect themselves is a major part of this. This is why a sexual education class should be implemented as a mandatory class
Should sexual education should be taught in schools? The answer is simply yes. Sexual education should be taught in schools because it can help many teenagers prevent life threating things that come without knowledge of the subject. Without any knowledge on the subject of sex, many teenagers can put themselves in danger that can easily be prevented.
I think sex education should be mandatory in the U.S. public school system because it is my young male experience that our youth is having sex younger than we think and need to know more about their bodies. A lot of explaining is needed in America today with all the increase in diversity of the families. It needs to an open conversation at home and school. It need to be explained and re-explained in each stage of education and become a requirement. Even when I was a child in school it was not taking serious and there was rallies even then about the potential harm it may do if our youth is not educated about their bodies. In my opinion I believe that is why we have an increase rate of single parents. In my community most pregnancies are not planned and as a result they parents are struggling and uneducated and resort to some type of public assistance. We live in a day and age where diversity is obvious and there many types of families and how can you know where you fit in the world if you don’t even understand yourself.
Sexual education should begin at home. Parents and guardians ought to be the primary instructors of sex education for their children. Daily, parents should
According to National Public Radio, former president Barack Obama, says about racism, “It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don’t overnight completely erase everything that happened 200-300 years prior.” From that, it is clear that Obama believes discrimination still happens to this day. Also, he thinks that it will take time for the society to overcome the battle of it. Although Obama said that on June 22nd, 2015, To Kill A Mockingbird was published in 1960. To Kill A Mockingbird is a realistic fiction novel that was written by Harper Lee. The story is told by Scout Finch, the daughter of Atticus Finch and the sister of Jem Finch. It is set back in the 1930s, where discrimination was a large issue as well. Atticus, a well-known lawyer living in Maycomb, Alabama, is given the job of defending Tom Robinson. He is an African American man that was accused of raping a white woman named Mayella Ewell. The Ewell’s are extremely poor and are considered one of the lowest rankings in the town by class, due to their lack of education and money. Tom falls underneath them, merely because of the color of his skin. Because of the current time period of racism, Atticus is faced with a huge task. Despite the difficulty of defending Tom, Atticus puts forth his best effort by doing everything in his power to help him. Harper Lee expresses in To Kill A Mockingbird how discrimination can negatively affect a community through
Although These classes show a lot of improvement in having great results because they can teach the students about teen pregnancy and reduce these statistics However these classes have a lot of potential because they can teach the students things like reducing teen pregnancy ,Reduced disease like HIV/AIDS, Understanding that it’s a struggle having a kid while still being in school, and lastly debunking myths sexual references . Should all schools adopt more sex education classes in schools ? Schools are reconsidering of adopting more sex educational classes in all schools mostly in high schools because kids mostly in high schools are making wrong decisions and being sexually active without the right knowledge about situation so that is why more schools are trying to have these type of classes.
In the modern world and with all the means of technology we frequently use in our daily life, we will always informed almost entire news and cases which are occurred in this world. As a person who concerned about humanity will notice that the number of Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STD) and sexual harassment cases shows an upward trend. This shows a clear view that we are facing an issues about sexual behaviour and health. However, this problem can be solved at least by reducing the number of cases and avoiding from it become worse in future. Sex education in schools is one of the method that can be used to solve the problem occurred and help to reduce the number of pregnancy among youth girl and STD. On the other hand, most of the parents
