Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
Intersect Investment has been in the financial services industry since September 11, 2001. A year ago, Intersect CEO Frank Jeffers identified a new vision. The problem with this is that implementing this vision will require revolutionary organizational change, particularly in sales. Frank has already replace the EVP because he did not support the new philosophy Frank was leading his organization in and expects that his new EVP will get associates on board with his new vision. The issue is there is a lot of push back not only from employees but several of the important players. If some of the main stakeholders don’t jump on board quickly

Intersect must create an environment where their associates feel comfortable giving feedback on ideas and initiatives that are potentially in the works or being implemented. Your associates are going to be carrying out the vision so Intersect must create an environment that they feel safe delivering their opinions.
Secondly, Intersect needs to develop a reward and recognition program that will pay for performance. This will give the employees an additional reason to excel in the job they are to complete. The employees will begin to associate excellence with reward and although they are already getting paid for a job well done, employees tend to go the extra mile when they know there is a prize attached to the task. There is also a vision for Intersect to create an extensive line of communication amongst the employees that will provide feedback to them in a timely fashion on their sales initiatives as well as the interactions they have with customers whether good or bad. Associates deserve to receive feedback from their managers, this will assist each associates as they begin the journey to becoming close, trusted advisors with each of the customers.

However, diversity of the group is not managed properly and conflicts are not handled effectively because of poor communication. There is a serious degree of trust problem in the team. For example, Merz has not much confidence in team members’ competence and she is not believing in their ability to deliver the product. Therefore, we can’t talk about a team efficacy for this team. Everyone asserts his/her expertise and experience but no one regards and trust each other’s. Lastly evaluation system of performance of the employees is a serious problem. While they were working both in the project and in their functional areas, they were evaluated only on the basis of performance on their functional area. This situation definitely destroys motivation of the team.
It would have been good if this fundamental vision was in place right at the very beginning of the company’s formation. In the end it is the customers that make the company, so it makes sense to work towards satisfying this customer relationship. To become profitable and achieve market share are secondary objective that can be measured on a annual basis and overall company well being targets can be rewarded with incentives that link into the company’s performance as opposed to individual contribution to the company’s success.
Group member cohesiveness was absent from the group meeting for several reasons, but the primary reasons were due to the fact that the group members did not have a common description of value or structure to the discussion. Each member viewed their own area of involvement within the organization as being more valuable than any other area, and it was this exclusion of other valuable traits that lead the group to begin to clash in such a

The nature of an effective a senior leadership team (SLT) will be the topic of this essay. The idea of team work and various models of SLT will be covered linking their roles, strategy, values and pitfalls. I will interlace this essay with some personal experience and relevant literature Belbin and Fullan to conclude through an historical analogy, my personal understanding of what SL T represents.
For the month of December, I was given an assignment consisting of $100,000 and four stocks to invest in. My four stocks were The Ralph Lauren Corp., Visa Inc., Master card Inc. and The Chevron Corp. As stated I was given a month to record my data and I ended up with a total capital gain of $5,518.36 for the one month period for my investments. I have to thank you Mr. Acker, this project was not difficult, but it did confuse me. Receiving this assignment scared me in a way, because I didn’t know what I was getting into. The finance world is scary and tricky, one minute the market is doing good and other days it would be low. While calculating my capital gains or losses I thought I would lose a larger
Clear responsibilities and roles, the structure of the team, job descriptions, competencies, accountabilities, resources, tools and equipment should all be provided. Generally, the team dynamics are good and the team works well together since the members know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Looking at the team from the context of Tuckman’s model of team development, I believe that the team is past the forming, storming, and norming stages, and we are now at the performing phase. The performing stage is usually characterized with optimal task attainment and a high level of cohesion, collaboration, and communication as well as genuine pride in the successes of the team (Management training Australia, 2015). Everyone within the team is strategically aware and understands what the team is doing and what is expected of them. The leader delegates activities with minimum supervision and members within the team look after one another. Although disagreements may arise every now and then, the team is now mature enough to attend to such disagreements and solve them in a positive way. The following are the team members;
In the following section, we will see that there are several types of teams to be discussed. Regardless of the type team, conflicts are inevitable and therefore, resolutions must be found to remain productive.
