According, to my interpretations of the documentary 'War Made Easy’, the news media plays the social role to inform to the people, but moreover is a business that needs high rating to sell and be profitable, which makes necessary to cover what is a subject of interest to the people, many times no weighting or making an objective analysis of the situation, and war is not the exception. In order to determine, if the news media are biased as anti-war or pro-war or pro-military or anti-military is very important take into account that sometimes, media is an instrument that could go in favor or against of the military, which means that could be an allied or an enemy to the government’s political interest, because militaries do not make war by themselves.
The nonfiction piece “American Sniper feeds America’s hero complex, and it isn’t the truth about war” written by Alex Horton explains a major question most Americans have about war. Are the movies we watch and the video games we play a correct perception of real wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? By using three literary devices: analogy, tone, and anecdote, Horton is able to persuade us to believe those accusations made are false. As soon as Horton gets out of the hook of the piece he begins talking about Call of Duty and movies such as “Black Hawk Down” and “Zero Dark Thirty”.
