There are many human services organization across the world, and all of them work in differently when helping someone. When doing my research, I came across the North Philadelphia Human Services Development Corporation. The North Philadelphia Human Services Development Corporation strengthens by connecting families. With the opportunity, resources, and with a great team to give that support system they need to raise healthy educated and happy children. As well as the support for adults. The way NPHSDC was created out of the need to start a community-based conduit that would create programs offering an array of intervention and preventive services for individuals and families residing in north central Philadelphia and surrounding communities. …show more content…
Interoperability is an organization describe as the ability of different information technology systems and software application to be able to communicate, exchange many types of data, and use that information that has been exchanged. Dick schoech explain his point of the article to have future social worker understand the changes that are being made with service delivery. He goes on to explain that since the main focus of his paper is on the impact of global data interchange. The difficult technical issues surrounding user authentication, security, and privacy as well ( interoperability," 2010). Interoperability is one of the most critical concept facing the adoption and implantation of enhancing electronic information technologies into the health and human services as well. The article explains that historically, the real power of technological innovation is always due to link, through railroad, telephones, and electronic …show more content…
One major task of a travel agency is to develop travel plans based on a traveler's need and wants. A similar set of social worker task is to develop an intervention plan based on a client's needs and wants. Contrasting how these tasks are handling illustrates the features of the network model of interoperability. This model goes on to explain that today's interconnected information available to a travel agent has caused major changes in how travelers find vacations that meet their needs. Some of these organizations even use the information provided by the traveler to further their goals. An example the model gives is that immediately after the traveler makes an airline reservation on a travel site. The information can automatically be used by an airline application that optimize airline profits by ensuring that each plane is full with the highest paying passenger. Advantage this model has it that now u can consider technology is typically used when clients want to find a counseling service that meets their needs. Clients can just call 211 if implemented in their area to obtain a list of possible agencies to contact. Having this type of access they don't have to feel alone on making the decision about traveling they can feel confident with the decision that is made. Disadvantage on this model Schoech explain the major issues is how to make a globally connected system out of many independent local agencies. They face
Two organizations migrating to a common health information system would need a system that meets current regulatory requirements, meets the needs of the combined organization and their practice environment. The implementation of a common health information system would require an interdisciplinary group of forward thinking innovators, and an interoperable electronic medical record system that includes standard nursing terminology.
Identify one kind of human services organization—for example, mental health provider or foster care provider—and describe the services provided.
Today’s on-line travel market is succeeding because the companies are using a more software-centric, online business model termed “E-commerce.” This has become the popular avenue for businesses as it mirrors the ideas of mobility. The sheer amount of data available, coupled with the advanced operating systems and social media platforms, have created new possibilities for E-commerce organizations. The infrastructure of E-commerce has expanded into platforms such as peer-to-peer networking, crowd-sourcing, social websites, and mobile devices and media. E-commerce trends are findings ways to incorporate every aspect of our daily lives into an online package associated with our everyday needs (Fishbein, 2013).

I believe that an internship in either Human Services or Health Sciences will be an an exceptional way to see firsthand what I have been reading in textbooks and discussing in class for the last year. I have always had a particular interest in the clinical side of psychology, so given the choice I would like to shadow a practicing professional rather than spend time "behind the scenes" or in a lab, which in turn will give me hands on experience with patients and a better understanding of psychological disorders and issues. Through such interactions I hope to fully display my communication, analytical, and problem solving skills and eventually put them to the test. I hope to gain not just the experience of the work life, but also I want to learn
Interoperability is the way information is shared across an organization. Sharing information across all avenues of health care is imperative to quality patient care. Coordination between all members of the health care team can occur through a congruent system, eliminating unnecessary phone calls and paper work that take away from patient care. The sharing of information electronically reduces the likelihood that files could be lost or stolen which creates a liability for all those involved in the care of the patient.
Our textbook provided us with the many functions of The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and described it as “the main source of regulations affecting the health care industry” (Pozgar, 2016, p. 183). I honestly didn’t know its full functionality until I read the chapter. Not only does it deliver a wide variety of health and human services, it also “conducts life-saving research for the nation, protecting and serving all Americans” (HHS.gov, 2017). In researching the DHHS, the one agency that I found intriguing that is under their umbrella is the administration for children and families. The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) “promotes the economic and social well-being of children, families, individuals
Among such challenges are that the specific features for human services agencies, for instance, multiple & ambiguous goals, altruistic missions, moral rationales of work, democratic impulses, as well as multiple stakeholders, create difficulties when it comes to long-term planning. Through the review of the literature, it is revealed that human services agencies operate in a hostile environment something that creates a challenge ith regard to acquiring resources as well as legitimacy. It is revealed that it is quite difficult that change is achieved and that MOCD’s success solely depends on the means by which such challenges are resolved. The literature review uncovers a lot of things about MCOD including what it is, how it is achieved and how it can be measured, as well as the challenges involved. It is quite informative about the topic. Again, by revealing how difficult it is to acquire MCOD, it clearly signifies the significance of studying the area to uncover important challenges and solutions to make it easier for organizations to acquire
What is health interoperability? I think health interoperability is how our technology in the health world is changing today. It is the ability to get to patient’s charts and medication lists easier. It is the way we are constantly growing in the technological world every day and it is constantly changing. It is the way all of the systems we are using to get patient’s charts and medications are communicating with each other. They are communicating with each other in order to get all the correct information right away. Also, if a physician or nurse were needing some information that was not on the system they could contact another system and someone can send them the information they are needing to know. It truly is amazing how these systems
The human service professional is central to the help process. They have the training to meet different human needs through an approach that utilizes special skills and knowledge. In doing so, the human services professional aims at both prevention and cure. The overall aim of human service professionals is to improve the general quality of human life. They strive to ensure that the community functions effectively. Therefore, human service professionals spend much time solving other people’s problems in a professional way. They do this by listening to their clients’ problems, helping the clients understand their problems and advising on the appropriate solutions to the problems in every unique situation.
Human Services is a disciplinary geared towards meeting the needs of people from a multiple knowledge bases ("What is human services?", 2013). Multidisciplinary human services is an approach to involving a variety of disciplines to address a topic or problem ("Multidisciplinary Human Services Specialization," n.d.). This paper will compare and contrast three commonly applied theories to research in the field of multidisciplinary human services: social
Child welfare is a one of the programs of HHS and who uses strategic management processes to help analyze data that will help in the developing of resources that would be made available for clients use. The child welfare program of HHS offer services that includes counseling, financial assistance, support methods, and family services. The Child welfare practice models however, does emphasize on family-centered practice (Casey. 2012).

Brailer (2005) acknowledges that a sizeable number of citizens receive treatment from multiple providers at a time. Interoperability is a gateway for many business ventures in healthcare to accommodate for patients being admitted in multiple provider organizations. All healthcare professionals, especially managers, must communicate effectively. A good example of interoperability is transformation of electronic medical records, or recruiting physician specialists to operate on a specific procedure (Hellberg & Gronlund, 2013).
