Internet Tools at Dirt Bikes Dirt Bike’s management is concerned about communication expenses and how much money is being spent on obtaining information on the subject of developments in the motorcycle industry and the global economy. In order for this organization to effectively communicate and obtain information efficiently. An intranet system will be discussed. Two other Internet tools will be introduced to the organization that would be beneficial if utilized. The benefits of wireless technology will be discussed and the impact it would have on the Dirt Bikes organization. A comparison of costs between wireless and wired networks is also included for management’s

Wireless communication helps businesses more easily stay in touch with customers, suppliers, and employees and provides more flexible arrangements for organizing work. Wireless technology has also created new products, services, and sales channels. If one requires mobile communication and computing power or remote access to corporate systems, you can work with an array of wireless devices: cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and smart phones. Personal computers are also starting to be used in wireless transmission. Mobile laptop computers equipped with wireless network interface cards link to the wired LAN by communicating with the access point. The access point uses radio waves to transmit network signals from the wired network to the client adapters, which convert them into data that the mobile device can understand. The client adapter then transmits the data from the mobile device back to the access point, which forwards the data to the wired network. In order to get the Dirt Bikes Company up and running smoothly I would recommend that they install a data base system. With a data base system they will be able to input all the companies’ information and distribute the needed information throughout the company faster and more accurately. All the different departments throughout the company can also add input or print
Wireless Routers is a wireless local area network (WLAN) that determine the next route of the packet should travel to the destination (Rouse, 2005). It converts the internet connection that was received from phone lines into radio signals and brings convenience to the portability devices that has built-in network card to gain the radio signals to get to the Internet connection (Switcher, 2015). Table 2 refers to the comparison of three models of wireless router.
Wireless network infrastructure has become just another connection method for corporate and home users alike. This rapid acceptance can be attributed from:

In reviewing the information available regarding Dirt Bikes’ operating system, there are a few recommendations that will help the organization improve their communication and costs. Starting with incorporating a local area network (LAN) would allow a better line of communication between each employee, as well as able to obtain information more efficiently. Building an intranet system will support the organization in allowing employees to access information stored from a central depository such as a database server. Dirt Bikes’ can also implement a Voice over IP system.
There are many Internet tools that could benefit Dirt Bikes employees. Of the vast number of choices, I have decided on two that I feel the company should implement soon than later. The first Internet tool that I recommend for the company is a Virtual Private Network (VPN). “A VPN is a secure, encrypted, private network that has been configured within a public network to take advantage of larger networks, such as the internet” (Laudon & Laudon,2013 [Leave a space after the comma] ). VPN benefits are endless, but the most obvious is, the company would be able to e-mail one another with no risk of outsiders gaining access to sensitive information. This would be particularly helpful if the company develops new products and sensitive specs need to be e-mailed to a manufacturing employee halfway around the world. In addition to the added security VPN's provide the benefit of lowering communication costs by providing encrypted services at a lower rate than say a traditional non-Internet provider would offer.
As I suggested in the business proposal a wireless connection will allow not only yourself but your employers to access the internet which will help with sending/receiving emails as many other things that the business will need from the internet. This is also a great way to be able to use not only a computer but a phone or a tablet and even your printers, so your employers are not stationed in one spot the whole time. When using the wireless internet, you will need the router which I also suggested in the business proposal to help you connect too. It serves as a router between the home LAN and the ISP, routing the traffic between the computers within your LAN and the
Dirt Bikes had been spending thousands of dollars in cost on communicating with people inside and outside the organization to obtain information about the developments in the motorcycle industry and the global community. I investigated and found that the company will save an average of 75% simpy by investing in Information Systems. Dirt Bikes can benefit signifinatly by providing its staff members with intranet. Networking and Communication has continued to be an important trend in the Dirt Bike business. Advancement to wireless access has also become one of
Background: Dirt Bikes USA was founded in 1991 by Carl Schmidt and Steven McFadden. These two entrepreneurs saw the increasing demand for Dirt bikes, and took the initiative to capitalize on their idea. These two former bikers took their knowledge of dirt bikes and their love of the sport and developed on that foundation. Their idea was to give the customer a product that was aptly suited for the specific needs of the customer. Also the duo wanted to give something more than just a bike, they wanted to provide the highest possible satisfaction at a reduced cost than their competitors. To reach this goal they developed frames for dirt bikes that were more suited to off-road handling and started using these frames to build
Dirt Bikes USA, a small company headquartered in Carbondalewas founded in 1991 by Car Schmidt and Steven McFadden, two young but experienced bikers with engineering backgrounds who saw that dirt bikes were becoming very popular in the Unites States as both sporting and racing motorcycles. In the early time, they developed frames for dirt bikes that were more suited to off-road handling and used it as a model to build their own dirt bikes models by using motorcycle engines manufactured by other companies, such as Honda and Rotax Motors of Austria. When Steven got the first place in a race, other peoples began to very interested in their

This report includes the recommendation process strategy which will be appropriate for the Peddle and Power: E-Bike and the risks using it. The chosen strategy is job shop strategy and the issues are high variable cost on hiring skilled staff and expensive equipment. The report moves onto the process design, which provides explanation of the companies assumed flow chart, which are customer purchase order, sales order, determine the quantity, create a work order, assemble the bike, package the bike, create packaging slip and invoice and final stage is ship to the customer and the value stream map, which both can be viewed at the appendices 1.9.2.1 and 1.9.2.2. The capacity discusses the future capacity requirements over next five years the company should consider, how much they need to produce, and think if they have the capability to meet the production goals. Furthermore the suggested expansion strategy is match capacity strategy. For location for the assembly plant and warehouses the company should consider: the infrastructure of the building and its area, cost of labour, and location of the most attracted customer locations and the overall recommendation is the Mt Wellington near the motorway. The reason behind the designed factory layout (refer to 1.9.3 in appendices) was the time efficiency to design the different departments close together as possible also added staff room for the workers to take a break. For the location of finished goods storage room
A wireless network is any type of computer network that uses wireless data connections for connecting network nodes .Wireless networking is a method by which homes, telecommunications networks and enterprise (business).Installations avoid the costly process of introducing cables into a building, or as a connection between various equipment locations. Wireless telecommunications networks are generally implemented and administered using radio communication. This implementation takes place at the physical level (layer) of the OSI model network structure.
Mobile computing is technology that has enabled users to obtain internet services while being in a state of constant motion. Conventionally, internet could only be accessed only via Ethernet cable and users had to sit on one place in order to access internet. In this way, there existed no concept of taking work to a trip or connecting to world anytime. With the invention of mobile computing, users can take their work in their hands. One can now get internet service anywhere needed.
The Motorcycles and Related Products segment was responsible for virtually all of the change in consolidated revenue as the result of increases in both motorcycle unit shipments and Parts and Accessories sales. Year end data indicate that the domestic motorcycle market continued to grow throughout 1993 and demand for the company's motorcycles continues to exceed supply. International demand remains strong with export revenues totaling $262.8 million during 1993, an increase of approximately $23.4 million over 1992. The Board of Directors approved a comprehensive manufacturing strategy designed to achieve the goal of a 100,000 units per year production rate in 1996. Basically, it is an enhancement of the Motorcycle division's ability to
