Some of the obvious internal factors would be such things as the company’s own strengths and weaknesses, which could include values, goals, skills, and even the attitudes of manager and the workers in the organization. If there is a shoe to be made to provide better comfort to athletes, Nike is leading the market in making new changes to make that shoe.

When analyzing an individual, it is evident that there are external and internal factors that impact a humans’ behavior. The three basic elements of the multidimensional approach is the person dimension, environmental dimension, and time dimension; within each of the basic elements exists multiple dimensions, such as physical environment, culture, biological, spiritual, event time, and communities (Hutchsion, p. 10, 2012). By understanding of the multidimensional approach, I can analyze an individual in a movie and how multiple factors can affect a person’s behavior. For this assignment, I chose to analyze the main character’s brother, Dicky, in the film The Fighter. After viewing the movie, I could comprehend how the brother’s behavior was influenced by the person dimension and the environment dimension.
During the late 80s and early 90s Nike was faced with a series of labor strike back at home due to unethical labor practices by its independent countries in third world countries. It is well known for Nike to outsource almost all its production from third world countries at cheap prices and sell them in U.S. market at an abnormal profit. The company began outsourcing its products from Japan where labor was competent and wages were very low. The living standards were raised which prompted Nike to outsource its products from Thailand, Pakistan and Indonesia since wages in these countries were extremely low and labor for these products were competent due to rapid development of the Japanese economy. The outsourcing of footwear products from Asian countries enables Nike to earn high profits and enjoy a competitive advantage over its rivals in the footwear industry. The company invests the high profits realized in marketing its products through celebrities. For instance, Michael Jordan was used to advertise the positive image of Nike Company (Lipschutz and James, pp. 87-96).
