The book Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity written by David Entwistle (2010) talks about the relationships between theology and psychology throughout the history of each and how they both can be integrated. Some people see Christianity as areligious belief and psychology as a profession.
Entwistle (2010) explains that the worldview with which you were raised, are modified by your personal experiences and reflections. The worldviews ask four questions: “Who am I?” “Where am I?” “What’s wrong?” and “What’s the remedy?”. In revelation there are scriptures about people who experienced psychological problems and those scriptures help us understand the experience of human anguish and they remind us of responsibility to help those who suffer.
The Theocentric Unified Model of Knowing is about human finitude, frailty and seeking knowledge. Human beings are rational, spiritual, and biological beings. Theology and psychology can be desirable if we as humans can seek a complete picture of human nature and functioning.
The things that we are assume and believe in our culture stop us from gaining knowledge. According to Entwistle (2010), “we must acknowledge our own sinfulness affects human thinking”. The book talks about how sin affects our thinking with God. But we must also remember from a Christian perspective that we are frail, fallen and finite
