Welcome to our little family, and welcome into the world. Your parents love you very much and are excited to start this new life with you. Today I am writing this letter to you not only as your mother, but as a woman as well. Though you are only little right now, I am writing this letter in hopes that you read this when you are growing up and learning about the world and all of the crazy things that go on in it. You’re probably wondering where this is going right? I am writing this letter to you because things like stalking, sexual harassment, molestation, murder, and rape are real things in this world. These are not words that you only hear about online, in the news, and in school. These are a reality of the world. This is a harsh reality that most women face at least once in their lives. It has nothing to do with their age, marital status, or even looks sometimes. It happens. As you grow and mature, I imagine that you will hear many things about what it means to be a man. You will learn from the people around you including your father, kids at school, and even random people you will meet on the streets. I am sure that you will spend a lot of time talking with these men about things like cars, working out, and maybe even talk about women. When you look back on the past, you will see that a man named Donald Trump was elected as our 45th President of the United States. Why does this matter you ask? Because this same president talked about kissing women without their
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with your company. After our conference call last month, I was very exciting to work with you to provide many different services to your clients.
and now we see it in something like the Ferguson shooting. Yet what about the ones who are supposed to protect the law, it seems they alway either get away with no penalty or have a very light sentence. The justice system seems that it has been tested on many occasions and still is broken until something can be done to it. The justice system might be fixed in the future in which all people will finally be treated equally by the law despite their
Dear Aunt Bessie, I want you to know that I love you and appreciate what savings and fortune you have given me. I understand and respect your request to give it to needy causes. It is very thoughtful for you to give it to a needy cause for the better of our country. In saying that, I have put much thought into where I will invest the one million dollars. I have pondered and concluded that the first and most important cause I will contribute to will be child labor.
How have you been? I hope life is going well. How is mom doing? Are you and her eating and sleeping well? I want to be very honest in this letter. Please do not tell mother what I am about to tell you. I don’t want to worry her. I don’t want to worry you too but you’re stronger than mom. What I am about to tell you please take it into consideration but also don’t worry as much.
I am writing this letter today to express my extreme disfavor of the United States’ corrupt school system. Not only that, but also what I believe a justified punishment should be for defrauding my beloved English teacher, Mr. Hyde. Given this task, I have felt that it is the most appropriate time to reflect on the never ending issue of our unprincipled, ineffective, and crooked school system. This reflection is not in any way intended to take the blame away from myself, because I am fully aware that not only plagiarizing but turning someone else's book report as your own is dishonest and unacceptable. I can’t articulate how much I regret swindling my teacher, but I can guarantee to you that it will never happen again. I have learned my lesson through pure humiliation and acquiring a disheartening zero on the assignment, which resulted in me having to watch my well
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” (SOURCE). Manhood and being a “real man” is defined in many different ways depending on the person. However, most of these things that men are defined by can be done by any gender and there are people that make it their work to prove that. The social construct of manhood has overall negative consequences on society; however, not all men uphold this construct, and can prove to be advocates of change.
What defines one as becoming a man? I lead a book club that met every Friday evenings last spring term of 2016. The book was titled, “Resolution Of Men For Men”, and was written by Alex Kendrick, Randy Alcorn, and Stephen Kendrick. One week we discussed the topic of the becoming of a man; we tried to capture an event in our lives in which we defined ourselves becoming a man. Some stated how becoming a man came with driving a car on their own, or turning 18 because you can sign permission slips for yourself. There was one student who told his story of how he believed hunting his first deer, on his own, on a beautiful Sunday morning before church, was his rite of passage into manhood. I described myself not feeling like I was a man quite yet in my own eyes, but I am starting to discover the characteristics of the man I want to be. Throughout this paper, I hope to bring you along those discoveries.
In the wake of the 2014 fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, national attention has focused on the use of force by law enforcement (ACLU, 2016.) To rebuild trust between law enforcement and communities, President Barack Obama signed an executive order establishing the Task Force of 21st Century Policing. In 2015, President Obama met with members of his Task Force and delivered a message to the press which highlighted the need to collect more data and information stating; “…there was a great emphasis on the need to collect more data. Across this country, we’ve got 18,000 law enforcement jurisdictions. Right now [law enforcement and local communities] do not have a good sense,

Dear Mayor, one way to benefit our community would be to open more restaurants. I think that we should open more restaurants because, if opening more restaurants it would benefit by reducing the lines at restaurants, bring in a lot more money to increase business, people could benefit by getting more jobs.
I am in Newark this morning to talk to some therapist regarding their notes. I will also go to Homecare Association to attend the meeting at 1:30pm, today.
Dear Mr. Penny, I have a problem with the cancellation of 8th grade advancement and have some reasons for why I think you should rethink your decision. Firstly, I would like to say I utterly disagree with this decision completely. There are many reasons I dislike it thoroughly, such as students already picking out suits and dresses. Secondly, I believe that there is no such reason to cancel the 8th grade advancement because we could raise the missing money through fundraisers. I believe Advancement had been a tradition at this school every year for years, so students would probably all pitch in to help their dance. I think it is expected and an anticipated part of the school year for the 8th graders since beginning of the school year and also as a reliever from
For generations, one question has been asked and continues to be asked by males all around the world. What does it mean, for one to become a man? Man, a term defined as “an individual human; especially: an adult male human” in the Webster Dictionary seems like a straightforward concept, but, like most words, has more than one meaning. Man is not just a word for the human race or one geared toward males, but rather a coming of age term. We all start out as children, with an immense amount of immaturity, as we all grow older, we begin to lose the immaturity bit by bit, and ultimately our choices and results of our choices build us into men and women. Becoming a man means; to grow up, to become mature, to be the best version of yourself. However, many have trouble becoming a man and rely on others for some ideas to jump-start their brains. Leading to the creation of society's idea of “Manhood”, but just because there is a generalized idea of manhood does not mean that there isn’t room for some individualization. There are many ways for one to interpret the criteria they have to meet for one to be a man, this could be anything from owning a gun to having a successful career. However, three areas are crucial in them determining what it takes for one to become a man: values, past experiences of men, and what kind of life they want to live.
What does it mean to be a man? In many cases the definition of a man is someone who is strong and does not show a lot of emotions. The media has many stereotypical meanings of what a man is, also these stereotypes mold men into what is being portrayed in social media. Family values also have a huge impact on how young men act. In some circumstances, father’s do not nurture their son’s as much as young girls are nurtured at young ages. This then leads young men to not handle their emotions very well. Traditionally when a father has a son they are more tough on boys. While, if a father were to have a daughter they are treated completely different. Fathers are highly overprotective of their daughters while for their son’s, they don’t care as
