Terry Tempest Williams and Wangari Maathai are both very powerful women who devoted their lives to improving the world one step at a time. Williams, the author of Refuge, is a naturalist, a feminist, and a writer who brings such power into everything she touches. Her passion for change has brought so much goodness into the world. She has beat many obstacles, including her own struggle with herself, which to her is the same fight we have with nature, and finally accepting the outcome; whatever that may be unnatural, or natural, is the secret to life. While we read about what Terry Tempest Williams writes about her mother’s difficulties while struggling with cancer, we also have Wangari Maathai speaking about all the violence she faces in Kenya.

Bush admired his history professor Thomas T. Lyons at Yale. This admiration led George to major in history. George had very little intellectual curiosity and was not interested in politics. However, some of his classmates believe that being a stickball commissioner and the head cheerleader were pre- political experiences. While he was a well known figure, there were many times he faced conflicts at school for being a male cheerleader, and some agree that this prepared him for the world of politics. Bush himself claims that his student activities qualified him for the White House. After he attended Andover, he persistently demonstrated the same leadership: “not a powerful intellect or dazzling policy but rather an exceptional ability to make friends, work a crowd, cheer people up and take them all in his direction” (The New York Times Company). When he was the governor of Texas, he worked with both Democrats and Republicans, and built successful coalitions which led him to become a popular leader without becoming engaged in policy details (The New York Times Company).

During my early days, I used to go to my father’s office where I had a great chance to observe different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory of politics. After finishing high school, I made up my mind to pursue a career in Political Science. For this reason, I was enrolled to Istanbul Bilgi University’s Political Science program. After
