How does the speakers' rhetoric evoke a reaction from the audience, in the speeches? Political speeches use rhetorical devices to persuade the reader to engage in their speech. "I have a dream” by Martin Luther King Jr, ESPY award speech by Jimmy Valvano, JFK's inaugural address, the Gettysburg address by Abraham Lincoln, 2009 inaugural address by Barack Obama are examples of political speeches that contain rhetoric. Throughout the speeches asyndeton, procatalepsis, allusion, antithesis, ethos, pathos, logo, repetition and parallelism are used.

First, we must stop all new interventions in foreign countries and rely on our allies to complete the ones at hand. We will leave the title of “world’s police” to the United Nations so that we can efficiently use our allies’ military strengths. This will aid us in repairing the ties with our strongest allies. Second, we will cut the military budget by sixty percent saving us billions and still keeping us ahead of rivals like China and Russia. We will reaffirm ourselves with N.A.T.O and make sure they too are keeping to the agreements on military spending. Third, we will end all foreign aid and pull out of nonessential bases. We must focus our full attention on Isis, and defeat them with the help of our allies. We need to coordinate our attacks and use the latest and greatest technology at hand. We will not put American troops on the ground, but tap into our allies in the region. Then when that is finished, we will sign a duel agreement with Russia to leave the bloody civil war in Syria. We must pressure the dictator to give up all chemical weapons. Then we will cut military ties in the region and only use our military for defense

An effective speaker carefully considers the audience when preparing a speech. Ask yourself these questions:

During the speech, I was also a good speaker in many ways. I had a good voice projection, my hand moment was consistent, I was always facing the audience and held eye contact, and had facial expressions to emphasize the importance of a topic. Right off the bat when I was explaining my citation saying According to the U.S Census Bureau “there are alone 5.7% Asian’s in the United States,” I was pointing my hands to make sure everyone was paying attention to the numbers. Another thing I did well during the speech was, that I kept eye contact with everyone during the speech

As Kelly Anderson’s Foreign Policy Analyst, the following memo will address three areas of the United States’ foreign policy. The U.S. has gone through may transition when it comes to its foreign policy. The United States has been an isolationist, neutralist, and internationalist country from the year it was founded to now. The executive branch and the president apply their power to influence and change the nation’s foreign policy. There are specific departments within the Executive Office of the President (EOP) created to assist the president in his or her process. Political context and historical events have occurred to prove why intervening with another country’s issues does not benefit the national interest and why isolationism is a better system for this country. Hopefully, the memo will accomplish informing what the foreign policy is, was, and should be.

According to the conditions made by Aquinas the United States are justified in waging war on ISIS. Under the first condition, authority must wage war. Therefore,The United States President has the authority to wage war. A just reason is needed to wage war. The informative speech tends to be one of my personal favorites when it comes to publically performing the speech in front of a group of peers. This speech tends to be one of my particular favorites due to the fact that if you are going to be presenting it, you should be the one who knows the most about the topic and should be delivering it in a fashion in which your peers find interesting. Even if the topic itself isn’t a very popular topic you as a presenter should be able to make connections to the audience during this time which makes them very intrigued with your topic and maybe even considering further research in that area
