Influential Religious Figures
Influence is the process of producing effects on the actions, behavior, and opinions of another or others. Influence plays a major role in world religion, as it is present through the activity of key figures. History has shown that certain religious figures have influenced the creation of three major religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam. These three figures are Jesus Christ, Moses and Muhammad. These figures have gained many followers worldwide by just simply spreading the word of their respected God. A follower is a person who follows another in regard to his or her ideas or belief. Through the holy acts of Jesus Christ, Moses, and Muhammad, each figure is looked upon highly in their respected religions. The nature of Jesus was filled with humanity and divinity, made him an outstanding figure in the Christian society. Followers of Christianity believe that Jesus was sent here to Earth to serve, not to be served. What differs Jesus Christ from Moses and Muhammad is that, he was not just a prophet he was the Son of God. It is also evident that the three figures have some common characteristics. Moses, like Muhammad is the author of the Torah books, whereas Muhammad is the author of many Moslem scriptures. Both of them influence the society through writing down their ideas. They also claim to be inspired by their God who used them to pass on messages. Jesus and Muhammad spread their belief through preaching and teaching and asked followers to continue spreading the word of their God.
