In the 1800's through the 1900's machines and manufacturing in factories became big. So big in fact 65% of the population were farmers, then it shrunk to 25%. This was called industrialization.
It was a period of urbanization and when a bunch of new machines were invented. A lot of farmers moved from the country-side to city. Factories were also built to hold machines, and people from men to even kids worked. t a invention but a way to make goods, it was called a assembly line. Basically one person has a specific job, making the process faster and easier. But as long as there is good things, there is bad things. One example is monopoly. It is when people raise low prices, because there no competition, and demand is high. So government created
During the Industrial Revolution everyone had to adapt to the massive work load that was created. Back then demands for products was so high, the only thought and concern the Business Man had was how he was going to keep the currency rolling in. They used Humans as machines, without care and regards to their health and well being. Once they were faced with consequence for their disregard for life, laws were put into place to protect the workers. This in turned probably caused them more money and slower production in obeying the law.
The Industrial Revolution started in the early 19th century. It brought about a wide array of changes, both social and political. Before the invention of machine and the factory system people had to make everything by hand which meant people would make anything they could by hand and buy things they couldn’t make from people who specialized in making the particular thing they needed. The groups of people who specialized in making something were called Guilds and they would take on younger kids and teach them the craft. Working in a guild required skill and were often smaller exclusive groups of people which meant that most people lived out in the country as farmers. But then factories filled with machines started up and suddenly there was a
Industrialization changed the way of living for Americans. Before industrialization, there were not many consumer goods and those goods that were there was very expensive for the under privileged families. American household had maybe a few sets of clothing for each family member. After industrialization, things changed. Goods were produced in large quantities and became more reasonable for purchase. What does this mean? American households were now able to buy material goods at an affordable price (Backer, 1948-1984)
The vast industrialization of the United States in the 1870’s contributed to World War One and World War Two because powerful banks outwardly supported the Allies, an influx of European trade caused American merchant ships to be vulnerable to attacks, and American imperialism in Hawaii created unavoidable hostility with Japan. Elites whose wealth was prompted by mass industrialization became a prominent voice in American politics surrounding foreign policy during this time. Overseas trade with Europe caused the United States to be subject to naval attacks, which drew the America closer to war. Additionally, The United States’ territorial expansion into the islands of Hawaii and Japan’s desire for control of the Pacific caused a large amount of dissent between the two countries, which led America into World War Two. The industrialization of America in the 1870’s advanced engagement in World War One because one of
Industrialization began in the 1790’s and continued all the way through the the early 1900’s. While industrialization was evolving, so was the ideology that came with factories. Industrialization began during the Revolutionary Era when Samuel Slater created the cotton mill and these innovations continued all the way through the Gilded Age along with the creation of labor unions. Industrialization had the reputation of opportunity, which is why so many people came to the US and caused industrialization to evolve so quickly. As people came to the cities and to the United States of America, the industrialization progressively created dirt and filth within the cities. As industrialization spread through America it brought
How do you think industrialization was in 1880’s? How about in the 1900’s? Well I’m here to tell you that most of it was good. Some of the best things at the time were the industrial tycoons, the labor unions, and the federal government. All of these things helped us get to the industrial level that we are at right now.
Industrialization and urbanization that happened in America after the civil war, is a good manifestation that the country was moving along the right path. After the war, progress in terms of investments, industrialization and urbanization was inevitable. After the civil war in America, people from the south who had been displaced and the people who were free could now move to the west to work in the cattle drives, fight the Indians and also begin a new life as farmers. Social Darwinism philosophy was adopted, and everyone believed that the poor had the right to be rich. The paper will focus on the right path that the country followed in the feudalism period between 1865 and 1914 when the country became a feudal society based on the capital and not on the land.
The new industrial America brought changes everyone’s lives in the United States. Lots of new inventions were being invented. The increase in natural resources, creative ideas, and growing markets are what fueled this monumental industrial boost along with technological advancements. The Industrial Revolution in the United States took place in the early 1800’s in the northeast, in the New England region. There are many historical figures to thank for their innovative and revolutionary ideas such as John D. Rockefeller, Henry Ford, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Edison.
“No place is free of the threat implied in such phrases as economic growth, job creation, natural resources, human capital, bringing in industry, even bringing in culture—as if every place is adequately identified as the environment and its people as readily replaceable parts of a machine. Devotion to any particular place now carries always the implication of heartbreak (Berry, 2007).” During the Civil War, government contracts were issued to factories in order to produce shoes, clothes, weapons, food, and other goods for the troops. Business owners wanted the money being offered by the government and knew how to get it. People were willing to give up life as they knew it in order to work in the factories and stores, despite the conditions

Industrialization occurred between the late 1800s and early 1900s. During this time period, America was tremendously changing. This was the age of machines and electricity being formed and developed. The first automobile, light bulb, and steam engine were all invented. However, what people might consider these as all positive, industrialization had an overall negative impact on American society. For example, working conditions for workers were beyond dreadful, while their tenements they lived in after a 16 hour work day were atrocious, and then having immigrants come in and trying to steal jobs was just unimaginable.
The Industrial Revolution was a time period of rapid growth in society. Referring to the 1700’s century in England where the output of machine made goods greatly increased. Prior to the changes made during the Industrial Revolution, workers often manufactured products in their homes using handtools and basic machinery. However, industrialization marked a shift of labor from small farms in rural areas to large factories in cities and was a time of new products, inventions and methods of work. The results of the Industrial Revolution led to many positive outcomes because new cultivation methods spread rapidly around the world. The Industrial Revolution made a significant political, economical, and social change throughout Europe. The Industrial
The Industrial Revolution started in the late 1700s and early 1800s which helped the transition from agrarian to one of industrial. Before the factories were made, the common folk would work on the farms that would make the food that they would need to survive, and they would also make their own clothes. All the clothes and materials that the people had before the industrial revolution they would make themselves because there was no mass production of items being made and the people who would sell the items never had enough in their inventory for everyone to buy. Factories started to arise making it easier to mass produce items that the people wanted, like cloths and eventually everyday materials. Those factories and opportunities for work is why people moved into cities.( History.com)
