Higher Education is Necessary Higher education, it is vital for success, a better future, and the key to many opportunities. This has been what we have been told our entire life, but is it true? Is higher education necessary? These are the questions that pop into the heads of many college students every time they must write a paper or have a hard test coming up. Is it really worth it? Should I stop? Then the answer to all these questions come flying to their heads, and they continue writing those papers and study those flashcards once more. With this higher pay they can enjoy a less stressful and a more comfortable life. With higher education one can make more money. Higher education not only provides higher income but also knowledge. In the article, “Top 20 Reasons why Education Is Important” it is stated that “The basic thing that you get from education is knowledge. You get to know about various things ranging from mathematics to history, literature to political science” (Khemka). The importance of this statement is the fact that education provides knowledge. And with higher education comes even greater knowledge. The knowledge you receive from education plays a great role in your future life. It can help you understand what is happening around the world more cohesively. In high school you receive knowledge about economics, the US government, and the human body which are later fine-tuned and greatly added to by higher education. The knowledge received from higher education helps us understand our own government, our rights, and today’s society. As the intellectual reformer, philosopher, and champion of modern science Francis Bacon said, “Knowledge is Power”( Simpson). He was one of the greatest philosophers and contributors of today’s society and he gained his knowledge and wisdom from no other then, higher education.
