Immigrants Faced In America

The challenges United States Immigrants faced were unlike most challenges any U.S. citizen would have faced.They were discriminated against, had to compete with, not only other immigrants but, with U.S. citizens for the same low-paying job. They had to deal with being put into separate housing units by race called ghettos which were often overcrowding which led to new sickness and diseases that made for only more challenges that were to be faced. During and after reconstruction several immigrants from around the world got word about america and it’s promises so they began to spill into the united states looking for the work that was promised to them. Immigrants came from Germany, Ireland, Asia and many other countries. These immigrants came to the United States to escape the prior issues from their homeland to begin an entirely new, better life for them and their families in the United States. With the vast number of immigrants coming to the United States several problems and challenges began to erupt as well. Immigrants faced being judged, discrimination, the overcrowding of cities, as well as competition of the jobs available.
