Dominic Aragona had been paid to protect the life of Harold Peterson, senate hopeful, but now the candidate was in the intensive care unit, clinging to life. In the waiting room, Dominic sat with Peterson's oldest son, Lyle, each of them slumped in their chairs and visibly shaken. While Lyle was not very large, lean and under six foot tall, the ex professional wrestler turned bodyguard was massive. Well over six feet with broad shoulders and muscles that looked like his suit wouldn't contain them, Dominic made an imposing figure. That was when he didn't have his face in his hands, ready to cry. “I'm sorry, Lyle,” Dom said, almost in a murmur. Lyle was staring at the floor. “You said that already.” The teenager sniffed, shifted in his seat and then looked at Dominic. “And I already told you

There's something about celebrity status that kind of erases a person's social status and past history. The exception came with tell all books or shows like behind the music, where childhood friends of the star were interviewed. Pro wrestlers were a little different. For a guy like Dominic, a big guy who wasn't making a move from wrestler to actor, most people would not be interested in his story. They were missing the juicy stuff. Before his big break, he'd been the type to mix it up with anyone, unafraid of personal harm. Usually, he was the guy inflicting the harm of some wanna be tough guy. It was one such bar fight that had drawn the attention of an executive from the wrestling franchise who'd just been out to have a few drinks. Dom's size, demeanor and ability to throw guys around like rag dolls were the attributes the company was looking for. But the wrestling career was a dead end for him. Sure, the money was decent and it was fun to be recognized every once and awhile in public, however the rest was not fulfilling. The bodily harm, backbiting and poor treatment from management had gotten
The reason why I like wrestling as much as I do is because there aren’t really favorites in wrestling, like there are in other sports. In wrestling if a coach has a favorite and that wrestler is J.V. there is nothing that coaches can do to make that wrestler a Varsity wrestler. Unlike, say Baseball if a player's dad is a coach, that player will most likely be a starter or play quite often, even if he isn’t that good. In wrestling you have to work for what you want, if you don't think you won't be where you wanna be. This lesson will help me later in life by showing me to work for what I would like, because if I won't push for that then I might regret it for the rest of my life.
He knew it was going to be an extremely long few days in the company of a man who was able to provoke a reaction out of him so effortlessly, and he silently cursed his short fuse. If he did not want Booker to get the better of him, he needed to pull himself together, act like a professional and not let his dark-haired protagonist to distract him from doing his job. He could not allow Booker’s presence to unnerve him because if he did, it would reveal his vulnerabilities and he would rather die than give his nemesis more ammunition to use against him. Therefore, come hell or high water, he knew he had to stay calm, otherwise Booker would win and he would be open to even more
During the time he was an assistant coach and his retirement, he had contact with the young victims who were a part of the program that he helped create for children in need. Some victims such as victim 1 stayed at his house and Sandusky called him out class for private wrestling sessions, which looked very odd to the wrestling coach.
Similarly both authors agree it 's not just finding one 's true self, it is finding oneself in society. Jenkins may comfort some by showing them how they could fit into American society, while Gabler reflects on the ones who are unique to society. Both, however, reflect on American individual values and how that represents us as a whole. Jenkins and Gabler split American culture up by categories: social class, morals and emotions. Both authors decided to use American individuals in their essays that are often in the spotlight or their narrative has become a spectacle for all other Americans to see. Wrestlers and celebrities alike live a similar lifestyle. WWF wrestlers fight in melodramatic, morally conflicting intense matches, and
Both of these men have been through many hardships like homelessness and lack of support, many people personally think that with everything that these men have been through, they could have gone to much higher heights. For both of these men, they struggled with support. At home, Shawn Grim struggled with his entire family. His dad was an alcoholic and almost never supported him through his tough times.
His father eventually left him, his siblings, and mother. His father was teaching at a nearby school and dating young college women, only visiting Andre and the rest of his siblings rarely on weekends, Andre was left alone and to fend for himself. Neighborhood bullies pick fights with him and he can barely hold his own. He had finally had enough of their harassment and bulks up in the gym. He works out and boxes almost every day and can hold finally hood his own in fights.
After discovering a God-given talent, a young boy struggles to achieve his only dream; to become the best there ever was. Baseball is all he has ever known, so he prevails through the temptations and situations laid before him by those out to destroy his career. His hopes and dreams outweigh all the temptations along his journey. These hopes, dreams, and temptations are depicted through archetypes in the movie The Natural.
In Thomas C. Foster’s “How to Read Literature like a Professor”, myth and archetype are thoroughly discussed and analyzed. Some of these themes are exemplified in Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s work, The Yellow Wallpaper, in which a nameless narrator experiences her own personal hell, driven into madness by her improper psychiatric treatment. Gilman’s text is not only a story of a woman who is essentially driven into the underground, but also a criticism of society’s view of women and mental illness. She describes the narrator’s descent as a journey, through the use of symbolism and her treatment as a mentally ill woman.
In Homers epic poem “The Odyssey” there are many archetypes, many of which were the origin of the archetype. An archetype is a character type, place, or symbol, every culture shares. In “The Odyssey” Homer uses archetypes to evoke meaning to the story. Some examples of archetypes in “The Odyssey” are the temptress, and the father-son conflict.
Same concept behind the whole being a wrestler idea. It’s tough but tough things build you up tougher. Like my coach always said “a move is never right if it’s easy” It should never be easy if you're working the right moves. It just makes you less

In wrestling, it feels amazing when you see some who that has worked so hard and win. During an interview with tom brands, he said
Athletics. After an unsuccessful career in the minors Ron Williamson became a drug addict and an alcoholic whose life steadily got worse. He could not keep any job and he began spending most of his time in bars, and living with various friends. He soon accumulated a criminal record that included DUI?s, check fraud, and two rape charges that did not result in conviction. He became a heavy user of
Once there was a woman who told a story. However, she had more than just an entertaining tale to tell. She chose common images that everyone would understand, and she wrapped her story around them, and in this way she was able to teach the people . . .
For some, that degree of immersion will always work. And the fact that people can do that regardless of whether they should or not is a part of pro wrestling's appeal. I understand and respect that devotion, even if it gives me pause at the same time. But extremes aren't as useful in the long term.
