Safety is key. Safety is very important in our community, but do we have enough? Children playing on roads, animal crossing, and etc. A good example is more stop signs on road, especially neighborhoods. This will help keep kids safe. More ice skating rinks would be nice. More people will have fun. A better mall would be great also for the community, more people would want to go see the new mall and it would help the stores financially. Healthier restuarunts would be very good, 68.8 percent of adults are considered obese in the U.S. These restaurants will help people with their health and make money. The community will always need improvements and most of the problems we have to fix have a huge price. One of the biggest problems in my opinion …show more content…
People would want to go and learn how to skate, and for the people who already know it would be even better, so they could go skate with family or with friends. An ice skating rink would also be great for the community because in Chester we don't have any ice skating rinks. We all have to drive, about thirty minutes to have a bit of fun, when we could have all the fun we wanted close by. I think an ice skating rink would improve the community by helping families do more fun related activities together, and the rink would also make money.
Another thing that could help the community is more stores, or a mall, yes we have South Park Mall nearby here in Chester, but it barely has any teenage stores in it. Adding more stores for teenagers would help a lot. More teenagers would come and the stores would make more money. Also parents who used to drive to Chesterfield Towne center, wouldn't have such a drive anymore.
The last thing that would improve the community is better restaurants. Restaurant's are a place where friends, and families gather. Restaurants like Chili's and Applebees are well known, and people want to try new things. I think a way to improve our community is to add more foreign restaurants. Families would want to try new stuff together and of course couples would go
There has been big changes in the U.S. Since the turn of the century. I moved to Houston 4 years ago from Dallas and since then where I live in Houston has been changing every day. Its so remarkable within 5 years time a new community has been formed and its getting too crowed every where. New schools, hospitals, stores and roads are coming up every corner, when we think its crazy but actually the demand is getting higher. There is everything near you to meet our needs. But the traffic is getting too much in Houston, I think government can do better in that area and make less crowed.
I think what would make Botetourt County a better community is more affordable housing And lower property tax. Firstly It would be beneficial because more and more of Botetourt residents have had to move out because of increased property value and tax so if there was more affordable housing they would be able to stay, secondly more jobs would be created, lastly more people might move into botetourt because housing is cheaper.
If I had the authority to change my community in a positive way some changes I would enforce is volunteer to clean up the trash, organize a special event to raise money to help out around, give food out to the families in need and start a place to help/hand out food to the homeless. Many people don't realize how this could change or how much it would help. If we get people to help out in the community it would make other communities to do it so then the world would be great.
There are several potential community problems in this area such as low test scores in the school, high employment rate and lack of adequate transportation. Any one or all of these could compound difficulties for a community member struggling to get by in this community.
The hall of fame deserves to become the eighth wonder of the world because of the amount of people who love and care for the sport of hockey. Over the years of the hall of fame being open, many more people have started loving the sport of hockey. This could be in the form of playing it as a kid or watching the games on TV as an adult. Many people also travel to toronto every year to look at the new players who were added. Also, the importance of the hall of fame is the history of the building.
There are many changes that I have observed in my neighborhood since living here for 21 years. There has been a recent migration of homeowners moving out of the neighborhoods. The home owners are either renting out their homes, to a new influx of section 8 tenants or they have chosen to walk away from their homes leaving many in the area to go into foreclosure. Foreclosure and crime are two of the biggest element of change that I have noticed in my neighborhood, and many of these problems arise from the economy, health and illness, and familial structure breakdown.
Floor hockey is a stick and ball game played indoors on a flat floor. Players typically wear indoor sports shoes. There are several different variations of floor hockey. Floor hockey evolved from ice hockey. British soldiers invented modern ice hockey in the 1950's when they were stationed in Canada.
This research paper is going to discuss facts about hockey and rules of hockey and the history of hockey.
Communities have access to more resources. The resources can then help in
As a University of Delaware student, I will feel most comfortable with the academics and the ice hockey rink. My high school is very rigorous academically. There have been many nights where I have had a lot of homework and studying to do. Although I found it challenging, I am very organized and have become accustomed to a heavy academic workload. Therefore, I think my high school has prepared me well and I will be ready to meet the challenges at University of Delaware. When I am not hitting the books, I will be trying to hit the ice as much as I can. I have played ice hockey since I was ten years old. I love everything about the sport and have spent many hours on the ice. I had the opportunity to play in a tournament at the University of Delaware a few years ago. Although I won’t be playing Division 1 hockey, I look forward to continue skating perhaps with club or intramural level hockey.
We would definitely have some benefits for our community and some towards the nation. One of the benefits we would have is providing a gradually safer community. I can personally say that I live in a decent community. Our neighbors are friendly and our streets are fairly clean and eco-friendly. But when I go out to work, school, or shopping, I see many immigrants standing nearby stores and moving companies such as Home Depot, U-Haul, and other equipment related stores. Now, to some people, that may be a bit frightening or shocking to see multiple men just standing and hanging out in front of stores and parking lots. You never know what might happen or what reputation that location has because of that. I’m sure that it wouldn’t be great for a community to show its number of immigrants multiplying each day of the year, standing in parking lots, taking up space in streets and parking slots, possibly putting a negative reputation as a “not so safe or friendly community”. Just as a typical thought, when you imagine and safe and friendly community, you may think of a quiet town, clean streets, well maintained offices and buildings, and friendly people. As for the other imagination of a “bad” community, you might think of poorly constructed roads, busy and loud streets, seeing people just hanging out on the corner of convenient stores and bus stops, poorly landscaped homes or yards, which may be the case of low-working class people. That may also be the case of a higher crime rate. If you were to research communities of wealth, middle class, and low class, you will find that there would generally be more of a higher crime rate towards the lower class communities, and by communities, it could either be neighborhoods or counties. For the people living here in the United States, we would want the best and safest place to live in. I know I wouldn’t want
Especially going to somewhere like South Korea, it could benefit the fan base. The NHL is mostly just North America watching but when you broadcast hockey worldwide, that's a whole different audience watching. Anyone who is a fan of the NHL and of hockey wants to see the best players in the world compete for the chance to win a gold medal. There's the Stanley Cup and then there's the Olympics, for the players, they can't even compare one to the other. The Olympics is something an athlete dreams about year after year to be apart of.
Hockey is a sport thats origins may be from Persia, Egypt or China, while archaeological evidence shows an early ball-and-stick game played in Greece in the 400s BCE. As civilization spread, so did the games. In 1872, a young man from Halifax, Nova Scotia named James Creighton moved to Montreal, bringing the sport of ice hockey with him bringing with him hockey sticks and skates. Which in turn a man named Lord Stanley created the first national hockey organization. In 1912 the very first professional hockey game. I’ll present my information in chronological order with also talking about how and when hockey affected the country presented.
Losing a loved one is often a very sad experience. For humans it is natural to mourn the loss of a loved one. Although everyone suffers differently, grief is a universal experience. For most people grief resolves naturally, but some people can face symptoms similar to that of major depression. Although the typical grief period carries on for about two to six months, people can now be diagnosed with major depressive disorder within weeks of experiencing symptoms. Even well-known psychologists such as Sigmund Freud have stated, “...although mourning involves grave departures from the normal attitude toward life, it never occurs to us to regard it as a pathological condition and to refer it to a medical treatment. We rely on its being overcome after a certain lapse of time, and we look upon any interference with it as useless or even harmful’’(Shear, 2011). The elimination of the bereavement exclusion from the upcoming Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition will pathologize the normal grief process, which will soon lead to over diagnosis of major depressive disorder and blur the fine line between grief and depression.
Communities that are becoming more gentrified have already seen an improvement of life, and positive lasting changes in those communities. Patrick Gillespie
