I've always loved to help people. I want to be able to make a difference in a life of someone. The world of today is full with such hatred and negativity, seems like kindness has completely gone away, that's the difference I want to make. "A smile at a time", a smile with kindness and happiness can really impact a person's life. Being a medical assistant involves interacting with so many kind of people, I want to be that person who people are happy to see, I want to make them feel comfortable and respected because evvmery patient deserve that. I want to have a positive and kind spirit towards everyone, I want to start to make a difference to the world a step at a time. Show people that there's still kindness left to this world. I want to be
I came to America from Vietnam when I was just three years old. I spent a majority of my life with my grandma, who has always taught me the importance of helping others. She always told me to have; you must give, and if you have nothing to give, you can always give your time. This phase has been a huge guide in my life, and it has truly shaped me into who I am. At a young age, I always felt that my purpose in life was to help people. After attending many doctor visits with my grandma for her health check-ups, I was confident my future occupation would be in the medical field. During these frequent doctor visits, I had the chance to watch the interactions and cooperation among different healthcare professionals in different settings. Being in this inspiring environment, I hoped one day I could mirror them and make a difference in people’s lives and the community. Although I have always wanted to help those in need, I was uncertain of what specific career role would allow me to fulfill my passion for helping others.
Through the many trips that my family has taken to the hospital due to various reasons, I have become fond of the hospital and its many wonders. After all the things that the medical field has done for me and my family, I decided to contribute to my local hospital to volunteer and help out those who pay visits to the hospital. Through my exposure to various clinical populations, I want to improve my ability to serve others in this capacity that can guide me towards the medical profession in the future.
Call for help immediatly, than ask the patient question like , where is the pain coming from and how much pain is the patient is in.Observe the patient and hear the patient for his breathing. The patient can be having a heart attack or angina. If its angina they can take aspirin until help comes. If patient becomes unconscious you will have to do CPR until help arrives ( Heller,2013).
Not only to prescribe medicine, and help with a cure, but to uplift them with love and compassion. I would like to walk into work everyday with an infectious smile, and brighten their day. I whole-heartedly believe that helping others makes the world a better place. And becoming a physician assistant would allow me to little by little help people and actually make a difference. Attending __________ would give me the necessary tools of knowledge to embark on my journey of life. This summer I had the privilege of volunteering at a physical therapy office and I can honestly say that it has made me want to enter the health care field. I made real relationships with patients; one older lady who attended physical therapy was named Maria. Maria opened up to me about her sister with ALS while doing her exercises for therapy. She told me that she doesn’t talk about her sister much and that she’s grateful she has me to talk to. With tears in her eyes and her hands in mine she told me her life story, how her sister struggled through life, she told me the ups the downs and everything in between. After the physical therapy was over she gave me a huge hug and walked out the
Growing up with my grandparents had helped me determine my decision of pursuing a career in the medical field. My grandparents were Chinese farmers who would always reaching out for our neighbors and providing them with life needs. By growing up with them, I obtain their personalities as well. They taught me to be humble, responsible and caring. I remember a quote by Stephen Richard, “When you reach out to those in need, do not be surprised if the essential meaning of something occurs.” This quote was later proven by my own experience, which I would get this indescribable gratification I get after helping someone. Therefore, I wanted to become someone who can reaching out for others as my grandparents ever since I was little. Being in the
Overall, the most valuable lesson I took away from my externship experience was that at the end of the day it does not matter who you are, young or old, black or white, rich or poor, Christian or Atheist, your life can change in a matter of seconds. Having family and friends who are supportive as well as medical staff who are patient and genuine can significantly impact your recovery or transition period. With that being said, empathy, respect, and patience are three of the most important qualities I feel a medical assistant should
The medical assistant should prepare the child by letting them know what is about to take place. This can help to emphasize that it might hurt for a few seconds but the pain will go away quickly. The medical assistant can engage with the child and make the feel like a partner in the procedure. An example of this would be, making the child feel like they are a big boy or a big girl buy given them the option of helping through the procedure with their cooperation. Sometimes it can be a simplified explanation, such as “keeping you from getting sick”, may possible be enough to gain and older child’s compliance. The medical assistant may be able to use a distraction such as quiets voices, songs, pacifiers or bottles.
Should kids get trophies for participating, yes because if a kid lost a game and he did not get anything it would probably make him feel bad and most likely he would not want to play that sport again. When a child gets a trophy it shows them that they tried their hardest and gave it their all to finish and accomplish their goal. Getting a participating trophy is good because They teach kids about good sportsmanship and they teach them to accept when they lose because they tried. So is it good that everybody gets a trophy or is it bad?
Discuss the mechanisms of neural communication and explain the impact that different drugs can have on this communication.
Intro to Health Occupations opened my eyes to the many, many amazing healthcare career choices that there are. After completing a two week long career project, I was certain that my answer to the question was, “I want to be a physician’s assistant!” I have seen how much healthcare workers have positively impacted people, and that also really helped me to figure out “what I want to be when I grow up.”
In the future, I am striving to become a Physician's Assistant in cardiology or neurology for neonatal/pediatric care. I want to first become an RN and have a background in nursing. I’ve wanted to be in the medical field since 8th grade. It is a lot work as I am a CNA and worked in a nursing home. I can’t wait until I am working with patients watching them grow and get better. I’ve always been interesting in the heart. It is an interesting muscle that we know is there, but don’t think too much about. I also want to get married and have children who I can love and care
Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. My eyes started to lose the strength to stay open and my vision
Why I want to be a medical assistant and my journey to where I am today. When I was little I always liked helping people but never thought about because a medical assistant or doctor or anything. I would always share whatever I ate and give people helpful advice and just be there for people. And then one day when I was about twelve my older sister who I looked up to very much told us she was going to collage to become a repertory therapist. That’s when I found out what I wanted to do when I was older I wanted to be like my sister and help people.
A medical professional essential role always boils down to serving other people faithfully. For me, I have always found great joy in serving the community in any capacity, but found a special joy in health care. I have found my desire to serve is what continually motivates me to become a Physician Assistant. This drive has help me maintain a 3.80 GPA, while leading my college soccer team as a captain for the past three seasons. All while establishing myself as a chemistry lab assistant and tutor. The balance between the three is great preparation for the future as I prepare to face the challenges ahead. I am aware of the value of education and gaining as much knowledge as possible, however I equally value establishing relationships with people.
