Student life, life that is all and only about enlightenment, social presence and activities of one’s choice. Today, almost all schools in the United States provide their students with the opportunities to participate in activities extending the curriculum known extracurricular activities. Where one institution may provide limited number of activities other may have more activities available than one can count! If I was given the opportunity to pick an activity of my choice to employ my time, I would blissfully choose the sport of soccer. I would choose the sport of soccer because of the benefits of fitness and potential future towards the sport. Soccer is one of the oldest sports in history that derived from ancient roman soldiers kicking around
When a student is in school, the options for what the student can do in their free time can impact them for the rest of their life. The choices to partake in an extracurricular activity, such as a sport could benefit one in many ways. They can create core values inside a person which then impacts other aspects of their life as well. Sports are able to give one a standard for the way their life should be spent. The ways a sport could influence a person are seen in The Other Wes Moore, giving both sides of the spectrum.
Soccer is it is the most popular sport. Soccer originated in England, but China claimed to have also played a similar game of passing and kicking the ball into a goal. In America, we call the sport soccer, but originally it was called football and it is still known as football to this day in all other parts of the world.. There are twenty one professional leagues across the world, but some of the main leagues are the MLS, or Major League Soccer, The Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and La Liga. When there is a game, the entire city becomes a party before the game, and when the favorite team of that city wins, there is a party after the game that goes on until the team plays again. The game of soccer has been around for thousands of years. At first it was not soccer at all until it morphed into a beautiful game. Although the creation of a rubber ball and a mob game in Mexico/Central america originated in the 600-1600, and the game of calcio was recorded in which might have became what we know call soccer. It all started in Ancient China around 2,000 years ago with a animal-hide ball. The English transitioned the game and recorded the first uniform rules for the sport. The first rules forbidden tripping opponents or touching the ball with hands. The Penalty kick wasn't brought into soccer until 1891. 22 years later, in 1913, FIFA became a member of the international Football association board of Great Britain.
With the help of the Pilgrims and Native Americans modern day soccer began to pick up in popularity.
Not much is known about the origin of soccer. However, the Greeks and Romans played football and ball kicking games. The London Football Association developed the first sets of rules in 1863. British sailors and settlers brought the game to India, South America and Europe.
While the current popularity of the sport is hardly denied, very few people know of its origins. According to a 2009 New Frontier documentary, soccer is believed to have originated about 2,500 years ago in China during the Han Dynasty. It was called “cuju” (zu-joo). In the documentary, Mr. Ma Guoqing, curator at Linzi Football Museum in China, states that the original rules were based on nature. For instance, a ball was used because the sky was circular and a square court because the earth was believed to be square. Just as there were twelve months in a year, twelve players would be in the game of cuju, six players for each team. The game was extremely violent, allowing players to collide aggressively with each other without any penalties. Not surprisingly, in the beginning, the sport was practiced by soldiers only, not by the common people or by nobility, as it would later be the case. The objective was to put the ball into a

Soccer (Football) is the most popular and fastest growing sport in the world. Over 240 million people play it regularly around the world. However, most people only get to view one side of soccer in their lifetime. They never get a glimpse of it in any other setting. For many people soccer is a very competitive organized sport. For others it is an everyday, fun activity. In some countries, soccer is their life, while in others it is just a sport. For those of you that don’t know, soccer is a sport where the objective is to score goals by kicking a ball into the other teams goal. It is a mix of offense and defense, with very fast paced action. You are allowed to use any body part except your hands and elbows. Soccers first appearance traces back to 3000 years ago in ancient China. But, the first modern version of soccer originates from Victorian England. Since then, soccer has spread around the world to the point where almost every country plays some form of it. I am going to address how it is different around the world and the reasons for this.
If you asked my teachers about extracurriculars, they would say they take students’ time away from homework. If you asked me, I would say they keep students’ motivated in school and spark their interest. Almost anywhere you go, kids involved in sports are referred to as “student athletes.” Being a student should always come first, but athletics holds importance too. For many of us, sports are our whole lives. For me that is definitely true right now. Athletics have played a huge role in helping me develop through my adolescent life, but I am not sure they need to continue to play as large of a role going into my future.
The history of soccer started long ago and has transformed over time. It will continue to transform for as long as it is played internationally. Soccer evolved in Modern Europe from the 9th Century (“Crocombe”). As far back as 300 B.C., Chinese military played a gamed that was really familiar to soccer called “Cuju”. This was a sport
Activities are essential in a student’s life because every student needs fun and value in their life. Accordingly, I have participated in fun extra-curricular activities including color guard with the fundraising, practices and competitions in addition to the school’s auditioned choir with the hard work and concerts.
Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Center is a multi-purpose fitness offering swimming pools, health clubs, and group fitness classes for students and local community. Macquarie University’s sport club also offers Mac Warrior which includes the different levels of the competition and competitive sporting programs such as AFL, cheerleading, cricket, quidditch and so on. Baldwin (2012, paras 8-9) finds that traditional sport clubs usually have strict training timetables and regular matches such as football, basketball, or rugby so less conventional sports are widespread popularity among the students. Macquarie University’s sport club should support more social sport groups like hiking to the sport club. The members would enjoy outdoor sport trips in the weekends throughout the academic semester. There are many reasons the students should join the clubs in terms of social skills, personality development, and management skills and friendship and fun. Gidda (2013, paras 2-8) examines that joining a university society member is the best chance to find out social benefits and do not stick the familiar activities that you know. Moreover, Harris (2013, paras 12-17) finds that competitive sport reflects the bigger impact on a student’s grades of 14-18 years old than join the debating or drama club. It can be said that sport helps to develop a mentoring relationship in adults at school because sport leads to help develop time management skill and ability to work with
