The new company I am in charge of is a restaurant called Red Brick Tavern. I want to promote a human resources approach when it comes to the treatment of my employees, I want my employees to take on the jobs given to them with a role making mindset. When conflict does arise in my restaurant, as in any organization, I would like to see my employees use a collaborative approach. I believe that these approaches will allow for my employees to understand each other better because the expected methods and attitudes they are to have are ones that promote respect, individuality, and acceptance. I want to promote the human resources approach in my restaurant because I have personal experience within the food industry myself, and have seen firsthand …show more content…
He told me that one of his past employees had played around with the packed mix that came in the box by adding two spoonfuls of garlic and a spoon and half of horseradish to enhance the flavor. By listening and not getting angry with this employee for adding to the seasoning, this restaurant had a slight gain from original ideas, which can be and are used to better the company. This is an important part of the human resources approach, developments can come from unexpected areas to make the company even better.
Instead of my cooks getting stuck in the normal role taking grind, I would like my cooks to take the job and make it their own. I do not want to hinder the creativity that can come from making food. I think this creativity is an important factor for a restaurant. If the cooks are able to take their job and form it into something they enjoy and are able to use their imaginations, as an owner I will see great food combinations emerge from my kitchen. Which in turn will produce happy and repeat customers. This will not only benefit my restaurant but it will allow my employees to have an increase in job

I need to ensure that I would deal patiently with difficult customers and treat them respectfully, and advice other employees to do that too to perform a timely service delivery without losing customers or our good reputation.
“The restaurant manager brings together three elements: customers, the operation and employees. The operator’s task is to manage these elements to produce satisfied customers.”
This report will discuss and evaluate changes made to the food service processes within The Finest Catch Restaurants and how these changes have affected the performance objectives Quality, Speed and Cost. Therefore examining how changes to staff labour can affect the perception customers have of the business, and in turn how that has affected their outlook. Altering visibility and volume of staff can change expectations of consumers both old and new (Slack, Chambers and Johnston 2010). Reshaping the processes that a business uses can change the maximum value they may have for customers and minimise costs within the company (Johnston and Clark 2005). However it is this sort of thinking that can lead to the satisfaction of

In the production of a restaurant the first lean management principal of finding “what creates value for the customer” (Russell & Taylor, 2016), can be applied during the concept of the restaurant. By determining what is valuable you can plan around it. If you determine that the guests come to the restaurant for the quality of food and great service, then we can develop a menu that meets or exceeds expectations. The sequence of activities would be the chefs in the kitchen preparing the food for the guests to enjoy while the server tends to the guest’s immediate needs such as taking their drink order and filling it for them. The server might also be asked for suggestions of wines to pair with the meal they just ordered.
The restaurant has undergone several staff changes during the last year and appears to have a turnover of staff issue mainly with the chef and waitress positions. The manager and assistant manager both know that this is causing a negative impact on the whole team and the operational side of the organisation has shown signs of not reaching the necessary standards set for satisfactory customer service. In the current team only the manager and assistant manager has been employed there longer than twelve months.
The fierce marketing competition drives company to seek new resources to improve their core competences and adapt to changing of the internal and external environment of organisation. A growing number of HR professors argued that strategic human resource management can be regarded as a source of sustained advantage for competition (Zupan and Ograjenšek, 2008). But there are lots of limitations exist in previous literatures, which do not answer questions like which strategic human resource management practice is best fit to enhance performance of organisation or is there any most effective SHRM model? Thus, in the article “the impact of bundles of SHRM practices on the performance of European firms”, authors mainly adopted the quantitative
Most people have worked for a company that has offered some type of training and development for their employees. From in-office classes to specialty workshops to college hours, it all adds up as an investment in your business, as well as your employees. With current economic conditions, some businesses are making the decision to steer away from developing their most important asset, their employees, because they don’t see the need for it any longer, or they are simply trying to cut costs.
To work in the Human Resource management field you must maintain and improve the company by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resource policies, programs, and practices. It is a challenging and yet rewarding field to work in. However, just like every business field, people who work in the human resource department face many challenges when it comes to discrimination.
