Good afternoon Professor Sobol, I hope you are having a lovely holiday break. I am leaving for my honeymoon on Saturday and wanted to order my books for the wintermester class. I have not been able to find the syllabus in Howdy or eCampus. Would you please point me in the right direction or let me know what books I need to purchase? I am greatly looking forward to this class. Thank you for your help. Sincerely,
Yaez Mon was a small island that had little to no contact with the European states until the 1400’s. Although it was close enough to see from Europe, nobody really payed attention to it until the continent began colonizing the “new” world. Yaez Mon was colonized by Great Britain under the rule of Henry VIII, in 1515. The people of Yaez Mon (Monians) did not take lightly to this invasion after a few years of oppression took to the streets and rioted in what is now known as “The Ten Year Rebellion.” This revolutionary period led to Britain retreating and a constitutional republic formed led by rebellion kickstarter, George Smithe.

Council Bill 20-409 establishes adequacy by addressing the social concern of marijuana possession in small amounts for personal use. Prior to the bill, individuals were charged with a criminal offense which remains on their permanent record. Having said violation on a permanent record potentially has negative effects on employment status and housing options. The bill, which decriminalizes small amounts of marijuana now provides for individuals caught in possession the opportunity for a self-sufficient life.
This proposal is to help bring to life the Semester on the Appalachain, a semester long expedition on the Appalachian Trail for a group of ten participants, in order to provide an environment that can not be replicated in a typical classroom setting. In the proposal, it will provide research on the benefits of experiential and expedition education, improvement on psychological health, and organizations that run similar programs.
Royalton High School follows a 7 period day schedule, 50 minutes class periods, typically 5 days a week beginning at 8:15am and ending at 3:22pm. A regularly scheduled day consists of seven four minute passing periods and a 15 minute homeroom at the end of the day. Homeroom is not considered as a scheduled class, and even though it is not required, it is still beneficial to many students. The sole purpose of homeroom is to inform students of extracurricular activities, scholarships and college visits, the announcements, and reduce class absences.
“Wonder if I” that's how it all starts(Owl City, Wonderfilled). Wonder brings joy to people. With joy comes Oreo Cookies. Oreos spread joy and friendship to whoever receives one, which makes Oreos the best dessert there is.
Hi Brandi. I must speak on the comment that you stated about the wear of clothing. I think that all of this starts and stems from the parents. Just take a moment and look at our society the grownups are doing it so what should we expect from our little ones. The teaching and training all starts when they are little. However some teachers are pretraying the same images. Why they are not forced to wear school uniforms. In my opinion it's not about the image it’s all about the money. Which when adding school uniforms as a requirement for school cause individuals and parents to spend more money.
Hi Angel. My opinion , thoughts, and concerns on school uniforms in the county where I lived were deciding to let the children wear uniforms to school was the same as your ideals that you have express in your initial discussion. However my opion has changed. It has been a couple of years and I think that uniforms is just another way for parents to spend money. Similarly to every month having a holiday in it which most individuals in our society observe and that cause spending cash. When it comes to individuals wearing name brands those name brand clothing can still be worn in school uniform. The county where we live guidelines speak of the lego being small if one is present. I have learned that our society has found loopholes in everything
I love to tell stories about my childhood. Looking back now, through all of my life’s experiences, it almost feels like I was living in a fairy tale. It brings both joy and sadness to my heart when I share these memories with my daughter. The joy comes from remembering how things were back then and how those things impacted my life today. The sadness comes from knowing that she will never get to experience those things, therefore, she will only get to live them through me. Even now as a young woman, she will say to me from time to time, “mom, tell me a story about the Good Ole Days”!
The symbol of the scaffold evolves in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet letter is build around the symbolic scaffold. The main characters transform the scaffold from the exposition to resolution. Next the traits of the scaffold itself deteriorate throughout the novel. Finally, the scaffold is applied symbolically throughout Hawthorne’s novel.

Going to college is very important to because it extends my education giving me a better chance of achieving my goal, of getting my computer science degree.Well for the most part I believe that college will open up many doors and provide opportunities that I wouldn't be able to get with a high school education. Lately it has become increasingly hard to obtain a well paid job without a college degree. Why is this? Well employers are more likely to choose a college graduate for the job instead of the high school graduate, because of their more extensive learning experience. More than likely people that don't continue to college end up working in ether in a fast food joint or outside in a back breaking job. Both jobs which I wouldn't like to

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “the ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people”. This quote resonates with me because it explains how normal it has become in our society to dismiss history or the various forms of oppression and dominations. Prior to reading An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States, I had very limited knowledge of the massacres, enslavement and tragedies that the Native Americans tribes endured because of colonization. As an immigrant to the United States, I did not know a lot about Native Americans nor were they part of the larger academic conversation. In school the most we were taught about Native Americans were that Columbus sailed the oceans in 1492, looking for India but instead he discovered
As I watch multitude of videos, some were self explanatory and easy to understand and some did not make any sense. The more I thought on the subject the more I realized that there must be a way to understand J. Collinse’s concepts if not fully at least partially. Once I started reading the book about ten or so pages in the process it all his ideas started to flood in and make a gigantic impression. It would be sacrilegious not to mention at least 80% of his videos but since assignment calls for 2 I chose the ideas that were the most impactful. The two videos that created the most commotion and mad me think differently are: The “First Who” concept and Greatness is not a Function of circumstance.
