The Maze Runner, written by James Dashner, is an action packed novel about a group of boys who are test subjects trying to get of a maze like lab rats. The story starts when the main character, Thomas, is sent up an elevator to his new home called the Glade. The Glade is filled with only these 30 or so boys ranging from 12 to 17 years old. There is also a huge maze that the glazers are intensely trying to escape. The maze is there only way out of the glade that they have been working on for 3 years. Everything is normal until a girl comes up the elevator for the first time. Disasters start happening all over the glade and almost everything is ruined. “It looked like something from an experiment gone terribly gone wrong - something from a nightmare. Part animal, part machine , the Griever rolled and clicked along the stone pathway. Its body resembled a gigantic slug, sparsely covered in hair and glistening with slime, grotesquely pulsating in and out as it breathed. It had no distinguishable head or tail, but front to end it was at least six feet long, four feet thick.” (126) As you can see the author explained events in great detail which was very helpful for trying to depict what was happening in the book. One thing I didn't like was how the protagonists of the the book, the creators, were not given enough gravitas. Thomas is very curious on why the rest of the gladers seem to not care about them being controlled like animals. “Think about it. Our memories are wiped inside a place that seems to have no way out, surrounded by bloodthirsty monster guards. Doesn't that sound like prison to you?” (64) If I were put in a situation like this where I was held captive like that I would be asking a lot of questions
Thomas thought the Maze was the last of it, no more puzzles and no more running, however, he was wrong. After escaping the maze, Thomas, Teresa and several of the other Gladers are put in dormitories for the night. Unfortunately, insane zombie-like people called Cranks have an infectious disease called the “Flare” and are out in the city hoping to find their next victim to hunt. Making matters worse, the “Cranks” next victims are the Gladers in the dormitories and the Cranks try to break in. Thomas and the rest of the boy Gladers find that Teresa has vanished, and a boy named Aris is found in her room.
“Welcome to the Glade.”( Dashner 4) In James Dashner’s The Maze Runner, Thomas, the main character, faces many fears. He is stuck in a village surrounded by a maze. He has to fight monsters and find his way out of this maze but first he had to make friends. He can’t do any of this without his friends. Readers learn that friendship is important even in times of hardship.
The main character, Thomas appears in a metal box with no memory of who he is. He is placed in a box with a supply of food and clothing and is pulled out only to see a community of young boys all living the Glade. (A farm-like environment) Outside the Glade, beyond the walls is a massive Maze
The Maze runner is a novel by James Dashner. It is about a group of boys who are living in this type of forest world. None of them knows who they really are, all they know is their names, nothing else. They have established a life in this place, and for the last three or four years many people have come up through this box that opens in the ground. One boy comes up every month and all they're given is their name. The protagonist of the story is a boy named Thomas.
The book, The Maze Runner is about a group of teenage boys, who are trapped in an area called The Glade amongst themselves and have to learn to survive on their own. All of the boys have had their memories wiped by the people on the other side. The only thing each of them can remember is their name. The only way out of The Glade is to travel through the maze and try to find a way out. The only problem is that there are robotic monsters in the maze, called Grievers that will kill anyone who is left in the maze overnight. A new teenage boy arrives to the Glade every month along with supplies that the Gladers need. The main character, Thomas is the newest one to arrive. He is way more curious than everyone else. He’s determined to escape the Glade and solve the maze more than anyone else.
Alby is a dynamic character in the story the Maze Runner. The drastic changes that Alby went through after the Changing are clearly apparent. He is the dynamic character because in the beginning of the story he is nice and also strict and is a leader that manages the Glade. After getting stung by the griever and going through the Changing he becomes very different. He doesn’t want to be the leader and he becomes depressed, crazy and acts differently. It seems like he becomes a whole new person.
The story kicks off when Thomas, a teenager, arrives in a glade at the center of a giant maze. Similar to all the other men dumped before him, Thomas has no memory of his previous life. The glade is run by two boys Alby and Newt, who maintain order of all the boys. Outside the glade, consist of a terrifying labyrinth home of lethal creatures known as grievers. A day after the arrival of Thomas a girl is delivered to the glade.Unlike all of the boys she shows up saying weird gibberish and lapse into a coma. If that isn’t already strange enough, her arrival causes the Glad to change; the sun disappears, the supplies stop coming, and the doors stay open at night. This allows for the grievers to pick kids off one by one. Soon after, Thomas came up with a bright idea,
The Maze Runner by James Dashner is about a boy named Thomas who enters the glade. The glade is full of unique cultures, different personalities, peculiar societies, boys, and most importantly, a maze. The maze is a colossal structure, with numerous walls that move every night, making it even more difficult to figure out. The maze also closes at night, this is when the Grievers come out. The grievers are metallic monsters with six legs and spongy skin, if you get stung by the grievers you will go mentally insane, and the only way to save you is the grief serum.
The Maze Runner is a book about a group of kids and teens trapper in a giant maze. They call themselves the Gladers. Thomas is one of them. The starter boys (the first boys) came 2 years ago. The others have been coming once a month though the box.
The people of the Glade had a normal life (as far as can be expected) for three years, but since Thomas arrived strange things started to happen. Even though the book and the plot itself are wonderful, I disliked the movie because the director skipped a big amount of important details. To begin with,
Her name is Teresa. Teresa tells everyone that everything is about to change, then succumbs to a coma. Thomas feels a connection to her, but can’t figure out where he knows her from. Thomas then decides that he wants to be a Runner, Gladers who go out into the Maze in an attempt to map it and find a way out. While exploring the Maze, Alby is stung by a Griever. Minho, the leader of runners, attempts to get him back into the Glade before the walls close but they are not going to make it. Thomas sees them, then races out to help and becomes trapped outside in the Maze with them. The Maze is most dangerous at night because that is when the Grivers are most active. Despite being the most experienced, Minho panics and runs away leaving Thomas and Alby. Through wits and skill, Thomas manages to save himself with alby, and survive the night in the Maze. That made Thomas a hero and from that, Minho convinces the other Gladers to allow Thomas to become a Runner trainee. Thomas then begins training under Minho. He learns how the Runners map the Maze, looking for patterns to the maze every day. Thomas also visits Teresa who is still comatose. She begins to communicate with him telepathically and tells Thomas that she has triggered the end. The next day the sun has disappeared from the sky, replaced with a dull gray sky. Thomas realizes that the Glade is a fabricated place and that the sky was never real. Teresa tells

They all live in a place called the Glade, which is run by two boys called Alby and Newt. They maintain peace by keeping everyone busy and having a strict set of rules. The smartest and strongest boys work as Runners, running through the maze every day, looking for a way out. The Glade is bordered by tall walls that make up a maze containing strange, horrifying creatures called Grievers.
Minho, Newt, thomas and half of the Gladers go into the maze to escape the Glade. Teresa, Thomas, and Chuck jump into the griever hole. Chuck dies saving Thomas. The Resolution is how WICKED are the ones who made the maze and who put the Gladers in the maze. Then as Thomas and all the other gladers try to escape people come to save
However, this bleakness was challenged. There is one person that can lead the Gladers to the ray of light that shines in a room of darkness. Thomas. But, on the way to freedom, tears will be spilt, love shall cease, and sacrifices will have to be made. Nevertheless, there
“The Maze Runner” is a book that was written by James Dashner, he made a series about it. His book was the bestselling book in New York Times, so they made a movie about it. The book was mostly about young men were put in a maze, due to a disease that was attacking the people outside it. They had to escape the Maze.
