The movie Super-Size Me provided a lot of insight on how important it is to be fit, and eat healthy on a regular basis. Sixty percent of Americans are obese, and America has become the largest country in the world. Super-Size Me shows what eating out can do to your body in just one month, and even if it isn’t eaten every day, it will have the same effect but slower occurring. Many kids and adults are involved in athletics, but not nearly enough. There is a lack of exercise in all ages, especially with teenagers. With all the stress from school, grades, and friends, people usually eat more, and with a lack of exercise this is bad. This is why I strongly disagree with the idea to eliminate PE and health due to budget cuts. Fundraisers or other things can be done to get money, there are better ways to fix the school’s budget than getting rid of what most kids only source of exercise is. The movie stated that 400,000 people die of obesity every year. Just by keeping PE and health some of those lives can be saved. Sixty percent of Americans don’t get exercise at all. Most habits are formed early on, and if frequent exercise is a habit formed, this can promote a healthy lifestyle. Budget cuts can be solved in ways other than eliminating exercise for kids and teenagers who desperately need it. …show more content…

I also disagree with this plan of action because many teens and kids struggle with weight, and putting soda at easier access is a bad idea. Yes this would raise money for the school, but why soda? Why not water or freshly delivered fruits and veggies? Even packages of dried fruit and nuts would be better than soda. Obesity is the second leading cause of preventable death, and putting soda at a closer grasp for bored students may make it the first leading cause
