Original PoemYou saved me.Do you know how much you changed my life? Before you there was so much mayhem in my life with nobody to help sort itout.I was abandoned by everyone, left alone with only strife. But you took that all that negativity and showed me what love was about. You saved me from a life full of misery and confusion.I am now free to be the woman I choose to be.As free as the bottled letter in the wide open sea, with a beautiful message toshare. You saved meYou have seen the hidden Gem stone everyone kept stepping on. In the sand as the shore crashed against the sand, you saw its glimmer, picked it up and made it shine brighter than ever.I use to hear the walls whisper with of my loneliness in the night. Now those whispers cease to exist,You
This poem demonstrates that when one is vulnerable and open-minded, love has the opportunity to flourish
“Early evening light slants over the mountains..The crows have disappeared...I am no longer cold...In the distance, I hear the sound of
In the poem First Poem for You by Kim Addonizio, Addonizio demonstrates what love is, with a short poem of acceptance. The poem gives the readers a sense of fear for love. The man has been through so much in his life. The woman uses tattoos as a way of symbolization on accepting his heritage, in other ways, where he has come from and been through. His tattoos are just a way of accepting unconditional love.
Maybe some of the most important lines in which the speaker states she has a feeling of loneliness are lines 3-5. In these lines the author writes, "But the rain/Is full of ghosts tonight, that tap and sigh/Upon the glass and listen for reply" (line 3-5). In this first stanza the speaker tries to remember what it is like to lay in bed with another. While remembering she thinks about how empty she feels, and compares this feeling to ghosts who are outside her window waiting for her to reply to their empty

Your life is coated in gold, You are a precious metal to me, As you can see you are the corner stone my life, You blend in well with the wildlife, You strengthen me in times of mental weakness, And guide me on the right track in times of bitterness, You are a courageous woman always wanting the best for me, Sometimes I struggle to see how much you care about me, Your life is in a bubble floating high up in the clouds,
Kinsley was born on September 17, 2015 at 9:24pm. She was born prematurely and four and a half pounds under weight. Due to this, Kinsley needed a few days of neonatal care to deal with jaundice and to ensure that Kinsley could regulate her body temperature. After just a few days of treatment Kinsley’s Apgar score increased by two points growing from a six to an eight, And my partner and I were able to bring her home. Because, of Kinsleys premature birth my partner and I were a bit worried about her and were consistently caring for her. This consistent caring led to a strong bond of attachment being built between Kinsley and I. I acted as Kinsley primary feeder, and because of this the attachment theory argues Kinslaey is greater attached
You allow me to rest and you are my personal tour guide who guides me through my life. In spite of trouble in my life, I do not have to stress because I know that you are always there to guide me. You have continually blessed me and treated me like a guest in your home when I am unworthy.
The poem “First Poem for You” is a sonnet about tattoos. Two people are involved in this but the gender is unknown and the person is speaking from a first-person point of view. I would like to think it is a woman talking to a man about the tattoos on his body. The line “I like to touch your tattoos in complete darkness, when I can’t see them.” Makes me believe that she is afraid of tattoos. She says that she knows where the tattoos are by heart which means they know each other very well and it is not the first time this is happening. The way she describes the tattoo, “lines of lighting pulsing just above your nipple, the blue swirls of water on your shoulder where a serpent twists, facing a dragon” provides the reader imagery. She knows what,
When my sky is dark I look to you for the light... I can look up to you for almost anything Nonnie. Therefore, you light up my life by being comical, showing me what being strong means, and what being kind appears to be.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I knew that little things are special things.
Below in the distance, nestled in the trees a darkened house stares out to the woods, silently waiting, wishing. There is a sense of peace, serenity, but also desperation and loneliness.
Famous for more of his upbeat and popular songs, Paul Simon explores a more serious aspect in his song “The sound of Silence.” Isolation can be felt by many different types of people, even if they live in a large city. To send a message to the evolving society on its flaws, Simon writes about the lost of communication and the lost of connection with nature through a man experiencing it in his dream. The speaker of the poem starts off talking to his old friend, the darkness, about the dream still planted in his mind.
Through the years, I know there were times I took you for granted; even so, you didn't return the same to me. You never cared for me differently under any circumstances. To the contrary, you were always there waiting when I returned, willing to play second fiddle. You never shamed me for taking a break from you; oh how I paid when I went too long! Your discipline taught me to stay the course in whatever I commit myself to.
The two poems by Chen Chen, “Popular Street” and “Second Thoughts on a Winter Afternoon,” share a similar concept: the complexity of love between the author and his mother. The poems convey through language the changing the relationship with the mother, as the poet grew up; he lost stability with love from his mother. Both poems contain multiple uses of pronouns “I” and “you” as Chen converses with someone in the poem. The main contrast between these two poems is the tone; the author employs the same themes to convey his conflicted emotional meanings throughout the poem. “Popular Street” uses a playful and humorous voice while “Second Thoughts on a Winter Afternoon” carries a deep sadness through
