Purchasing my first truck has been my greatest achievement so far. Working for almost 1 year, I had the ability to save enough money, to get myself astounding 2010 Ford edge. Through the journey of this, I learned how to manage my money properly but I build the trust of my parents and co-workers. My soon to be achievement will be graduating from Lopez ECHS and attending college at TSC, for me it will be a significant circumstance tome but also my family. Being the first generation in my family to go to college, high expectation are there to fulfill. Just as my older brother has giving me an example.
Anyone who knows me, will most likely know that I am a car nut. I can name a very wide variety of cars, from American cars to import cars, junkers to supercars. I am also really into trucks also. It is funny, because I used to despise it when people lowered them, Now I wonder why?
The most outstanding moment of my life so far is when i got my first car.It was a cool March morning in Pensacola Florida.I had my drivers test at eight thirty in the morning at the DMV on W street. As i got to the DMV ,we checked in for my appointment we had made.Soon the instructor came out and told me it was my turn.As nervous but as ready as i could be,i followed him out to my car. After he checked to make sure all safety requirement were checked,i began my test. All i could remember was what my parents had told me.¨If you pass your drivers test you will get a car.¨.When i finished my test,i had only missed 9 points. So i went back into the DMV and took my picture for my license. On my way back home my mom said ¨we have something for you.¨.As
During our first run Taylor and I noticed that the car was turning way to the left. So in order to fix this we started our car as far to the right of the track as possible. After our first trials we realized that we needed to fix our string. We needed to cut the string we had attached off of our car and make a new one. When we made a new one me made it a little bit longer than the car and only hot glued it to the hook, not to the frame. Our new string had a loop in the end of it so we could put that on the toothpick. So now we understood that the toothpick did have a real purpose and we couldn’t glue the string to the mousetrap. After we made these changes we ran our car three more times.
I was born Dennis Laverne Horn Jr. on November 19th, 1978 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. I was supposed to be a New Year’s baby, but decided to arrive two months early, and came in at a whopping three pounds! My mother and Father had just returned from a week long run in the semi when mom started having a stomach ache. My father likes to remind me that they had stork instead of turkey that Thanksgiving, and thus began my journey in life and who I am today.
studying but the only thing he enjoy was driver his brand new Camaro when he was in high school. My mother also enjoy going to school and studying but she wouldn't study that much because she was always with her friends. My mother would spend her free time going to movie theatres with were friends while my father would go to parties and played soccer. But what they both enjoy doing was going out and play bowling ball with each other.
My grandpa got the deal of a lifetime on his truck. He only payed $ 800 it doesn't have a motor in it. My grandpa, my uncle Jack, and I worked on the truck
When reading this prompt I immediately thought of my first day moving into the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My parents never had the chance to go to college and when they helped me move in it was a moment that I knew I would remember the rest of my life. For many it is special but, it wasn’t necessarily that I was at college it was more about how I got out of my comfort zone and made it happen. I was never really pushed by my family to pursue further education. I am the first in my family to go to college and it’s honestly a blessing to be able to have the opportunity that others don’t have. I plan on also being the first to graduate in my family from a University. I’m really hoping that I influence my fellow peers and family
For my Senior project, I've been working on a custom restoration of a 1977 dodge power wagon d150 while expanding my knowledge of mechanical work. I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without my amazing father who has immensely helped throughout the project and taught me new skills. The ultimate goal is to improve on the truck and its general qualities while also enhancing its off-roading capabilities.
I started up my car, just like any other normal day. Just a normal day I told myself, a normal day. I forgot the gift I bought for Lindsey, which I had been meaning to give her, but she hadn’t been to work for a couple days. I quickly hopped out and grabbed it. It was a T-Shirt of her favorite band, Green Day. As the traffic sauntered along at the normal traffic jam pace, acting like they had nowhere to be, my hands grew sweaty and my stomach twisted into knots. My hand slipped as I was turning and I almost lost control of the car. Just a normal day. I tried looking in the glove compartment for a couple smokes before work, but found my gun. The power such a small thing contained. The ability to take someone’s life, silence them forever. It felt too powerful. That’s why I have to carry one. We all carry one, but so do they.
My greatest success is graduating high school and becoming a volunteer in the Cullman County Rescue Squad. I see graduating as a success because I came from a family where most had dropped out. I was one of the first grandchildren on my dad's side to graduate. My grandparent's were one of my many reasons to keep on pushing. They always wanted to see their grandchildren succeed in life. Volunteering is another success to me because I come from a family where there was many hours spent volunteering their time. I see this as a calling in life where I have had the pleasure of knowing that I have helped someone in my community that needed me in a time of need. As long in life that I helped just one person I will count that
This year was a major stepping stone as i have began transitioning into a more independent adult, one my proudest achievements. In my second semester of junior year, I was given the task of taking the SAT and to start thinking about where I should further my education after high school. Another important milestone for me this year was finally passing my road test and receiving my driver's license. Despite the heavy amount of stress these tasks put on me, I was definitely pushed as an individual to complete them on my own, teaching me self
I couldn’t imagine my automobile being stolen. It was an ordinary vehicle without glamour. Even though, I experienced problems, the vehicle was mine. Consequently, I felt a sense of hurt and disbelief without a vehicle. Who would have imagine to be placed in this situation.
My first vehicle is an 2001 Toyota Prius, a well loved car that is almost always dirty inside. My Prius holds a dear spot in my heart and I believe the car is the reason hybrids mean so much to me. My interest on hybrids began when my father once told me that one must think of hybrids as a computer with four wheels. Anytime my car broke down, the first thing I would do is turn the car off and back on. This simple troubleshooting could be the easy solution to fix the issue. But as I have aged, my thoughts have turned to how hybrids change the environment, instead of just being intrigued with the mechanisms of how they work. During this course, I want to explore how the environment is changing due to the creation and use of hybrids.
Racing 150 miles per hour through the streets of California in 80 thousand dollar cars; that’s my life and ill take you through the beginning. It all started when I was in high school one day after school I seen my friend Jake with a 1994 Toyota Supra. I swear that car had everything done to it, it easily could have had 80 thousand dollars worth of parts in that car. I was amazed and was so curious how he got the money for that car. He told me to meet him at the body shop on North Avenue at 9 o’clock. He picked me up there and we went to this street where tons of amazing cars were lined up. We drove up next to this Mazda and then everyone started cheering and going wild. Jake looked at me, smiled, then asked “are you ready?”. Then this girl
From then on, my homeboys and I had in our heads that we had to work hard to get what we want, whether it be receiving a reward for honor roll, being recognized by others for events, or just having the ability to know that we can go to the next level at something in life . This message has never gone out of my head since that day. My main focus, goals and priorities have just changed, though slightly over time. It used to be the biggest race, now it's getting into college to further my future, and later it will be landing a stable job in my field of work. There are a lot of different types of success, though; success doesn't always have to lead to a good, well-paying jobs, it goes way beyond that in many ways. Growing up around a very successful family and also friend its kind of hard to fall out of line because you want to keep up the good work most of all at the end of the day you don’t want to fail and be a disappointment. Achievement and success can bring a lot of stress and pressure and can also make people do stuff they do want to do under certain measures. Success and achievement do not come easy by any means it all takes patience and dedication, but at the end of the day hard work gets you there self motivation
