Numerous events take place throughout the book which lead to a tragic ending. He begins with presenting Macbeth as a noble man who want to do good deeds but Lady Macbeth turns his husband into the exact opposite. Macbeth begins to have strong ambitions, causing him to make tragic decisions: Some which he may have never imagined he would do. The tragic results of the Macbeths actions lead to inevitable tragedy of nature.

Not everything is explained by the author, and many times, the reader has to determine things for themselves. For example, who was the real killer of King Duncan? Initially called “noble” and a “[minion of valour]” Macbeth in the end is called a “tyrant” and is perceived as despicable scum by the people that once adored him. The opening scene in Macbeth is highly effective as it captures the readers and sets an eerie atmosphere. Before any speech is spoken this eerie atmosphere is cast through the stage directions where it states “Thunder and lightning. Enter three Witches” (I,i,0). The aspect of thunder and lightning highlights that is a dark and stormy night allowing the reader to feel anxious as storms often bring chaos and destruction. Also the mention of witches makes the rider quiver and excited because witches during the Jacobean era where known for causing bad events and other horrible ideas.

Macbeth is a very ambitious and courageous person who lets three main things turn him into a violent individual. Two of the points, which most greatly contribute to Macbeth’s fall, are the prophecy, which were told to him by the witches, and how Lady Macbeth influenced and manipulated Macbeth's judgment. These two factors along with his tremendous ambition to be king is what caused him to fall from a noble man who was loyal to his king to a violent man who would kill his king to become king!

Despite the fact that Macbeth commits evil and is drawn to the successes he thinks evil can provide him, one can tell he has goodness in him.
