How do you feel about Christmas? In the story of “A Christmas Carol”, Ebenezer Scrooge is lost inside the world of christmas. The Scrooge believes that money is more important than the relationships he must grow. During the story, the Scrooge shows viciousness, greediness and malcontent. Even as a young child, the young Scrooge was obsessed with money. Later in life, scrooge is visited by the ghost of his departed co-worker, Marley. Marley visits Scrooge because the ghost wanted to give his friend a chance at redemption. The scrooge is vicious, malcontent and greedy in the story of “A Christmas Carol”, however he transformed himself into a better person over the course of the play because of the effect of seeing himself in a new way.

Throughout the play, he is changed by the visits from The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The most significant events that changed him are when the Ghost of Christmas Past showed Scrooge when his was only a young boy, when present shared that Tiny Tim was sick, and when Future had taken Scrooge to see what was going to happen when he died.

The Ghost Of Christmas Yet to come represents consequence and the slippery slope of the path that Scrooge is in if he is still living in the same path and making the same decisions. The Ghost Of Christmas Yet To Come also represents heaven and hell and overall symbolizes death and shows Scrooge the consequence of his action and the repercussion he'll have if he's still living in the same wrong path. After the spirits visit Scrooge he feels guilty, so Scrooge changes his ways and his view of the holidays to better himself.
A Christmas Carol though is about someone that thought the opposite. Scrooge was a wealthy man and only thought about money but one day 3 spirits changed his mind. Through Scrooge’s experiences and character development, Dickens shows the reader that he believes the “business” of being human is to treat others as you would want to be treated.
