In the classic novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Pip experiences three life-altering stages of friendship, greed and remorse. Throughout these influential stages, Joe has played a pivotal role in Pip’s growth to manhood. When Pip was a young boy, he instantly connected to Joe Gargery who was a father-figure to him and taught him many important lessons such as friendship.
