How does Global Warming change the land in Alberta?
GW changes land by making polluting our land by killing plants and animals and making our air very unsafe to breath in calgary and alberta. Soon (if global warming keeps on happening) the water will be undrinkable, the land will be polluted with garbage, And worst of all the animals will be extinct and our race will be threatened of extinction. Also Floods will happen (example: calgary flood in 2013) and also northern alberta which had lots of fires because it’s too dry there.
What is Global Warming?
Global Warming is a type of physical reaction from man’s pollution and because of that it has a very big effect on the world. People are starting to feel the effect’s, such

This how they create pollution, factories that are operated by humans are producing fumes that are harmful to the earth and us. We create pollution by littering the ground with garbage and operating planes, machines and other pollution producing things. Another thing that is impacted is the photosynthesis, I we don’t have clean and healthy air to breath so we would soon become extinct and also the animals too.
What is impacted?
There are a lot of things that are impacted such as farming, it is affected by global warming because GW (short for Global Warming)will shrink the amount of water in lakes and then a flash flood will happen and kill the crops that we need to eat to survive. Another thing is acidic rain, it also can be dangerous to the crops by using the pollution that is picked up in the clouds when the rain is coming down. It also impacts industry’s because the industry’s resources will soon be gone and we will all become poor and hungry. Also The glaciers are going to melt and cause flash floods.
What can we do about
Climate change is a change in regional weather patterns which occur over time. Climate change causes are pollution, deforestation, and the burning of fossil fuels. An area which has already been affected by climate change is Alberta. Alberta has been dealing with quite a few problems now due to climate change, but the three main points that affect Alberta the most are increasing temperatures, water levels rising, and seasonal changes of agriculture including irrigation decrease.
Global warming is the increase of the Earth’s surface temperature, due to the excessive amount of greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere. Most parts of the world are and will be affected by the effects of global warming, Canada is not an exception. Canada has been affected both positively and negatively. But most of its effects are negative; it is up to our government to fix the problems that global warming caused.
Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment and the consequences of it has caused: glaciers to shrink, ice on rivers and lakes are breaking up earlier, increase of drought and flood increases, stronger storms and storm damage, economic losses, heat related illnesses and diseases plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner.
Climate change will create a number of health problems in the near future and become a top social issue. Climate will create more smog which will lead to higher rates of and other heat related illness.” Montreal currently has approximately 70 annual heat related deaths, while Toronto has 20. According to the (World health organization,2015). The statistic shows why this has become a social issue because people are dying every year affecting our society. Climate change also affects our world economy. The country is spending a lot of money trying to combat the issue as the country is losing natural resources as well as expected natural disasters are taking place. In 2013 there was an increase in floodings in the Toronto and Vancouver area due to unexpected weather. The clean-up bill came to $1.9 billion — the single most costly disaster in Canadian history — and 90 per cent of it was on the federal tab because Canadians cannot buy flood insurance”(Moore,2015.) As you can see the impacts of climate change leave the government with having to pay massive amounts money when it could be used for other things like creating jobs but that money is often now lost. Climate change has an effect on the environment. The glaciers in the Antarctic are melting as a result of increased amounts of heat now we are losing a part of
In the article “Canada in 2050 looks hotter, wetter, more extreme: experts”, it mentions the climate change likely to occur in Canada if emissions levels remain the same. To be specific, the predicted summertime average is about two degrees, and about five percent wetter. While this slight change seems like no harm, there is now more likelihood of drought or more likelihood of wet periods. These changes will ultimately require large adaptation, especially for farmers as they solely rely on climate to grow and produce crops. In addition, current forests, such as the boreal forest, will likely become brand-new prairies due to the record high amounts of wildfires and dying trees. Along with drought, a rising concern for water source is becoming
Canadian citizens are witnessing the devastating effects of climate change on our world. These major impacts are a result of human behavior and will get worse without any actions taken. Most of how Canadian’s produce greenhouse gas emissions is through Home energy, food/shopping, and cars/transport as this strategy of living can cause polar ice caps to melt in the northern and southern hemisphere causing habitat loss, sea levels rising/decreasing, temperature change, and El Niño. This global warming issue has taken a huge effect in Canada as finding alternative ways to reduce consumption of transportation, clothing, food, and shopping is required.
Global warming has become a world wide issue and an issue that is causing great controversy. It is an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution (Dictionary). Global warming is a natural process, but because of increase in certain activities this process is taking a faster and more dangerous route creating global problems. Global warming was first theorized in 1894 by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier a French mathematician, who noticed the earth was gradually increasing in temperature. He came to the conclusion that the earth’s atmosphere was trapping solar radiation caused by the sun and reflecting this radiation back to
First, as I explained above, Earth's water systems will be thrown off balance, that would then alter natural habitats, which will then add various burdens on people and society. Climate change is also a major threat to agriculture; the price that climate change takes on agriculture is nearly infinite and unpredictable, and as a result, our food security is at risk. All over the globe, farmers are struggling to keep up with the constantly changing weather and increasingly unstable water supplies. Along with agricultural loss, warmer and polluted air affects our health and increases smog – a commonly known lung irritant and a main cause of asthma attacks. Severe summer heat will also mean more deaths during heat waves. Infrastructure and transportation are also at risk; because intense weather damages: infrastructure, puts heavy burdens on electrical supplies, and disrupts how we travel and commute.
Concluding that their differences are unmistakeable but a sense of pride and unity over comes their contrasts and brings them together in a sense. While Martin Luther King Jr. writes “Letter from Birmingham Jail” to encourage desegregation and inspire harmony and equality among all Americans, with no stratifications conceding to racial disparity. With similar beliefs as King, in Barbara Kingsolver’s essay “And Our Flag Was Still There” she analyzes the terrorist attacks the U.S suffered in 2001 and how it affected patriotism in a positive manner because of pride in the flag, unity in the community, and enrollment in the armed forces. Even though there were positive outcomes that came with the terrorist attacks many negative outcomes came about
Global Warming is an increase in the Earth’s temperature and attribute that increase to the greenhouse effect. Both of these are impact to the human life.
Climate change affects many things, including the environments, food sources, temperature, and population. If all the ice caps melt, then every coastal city in the world would flood (logos). People will lose their
global warming is causing many conflicts around the world. Conflicts like melting ice glaciers, which causes rising sea levels. If the sea levels rises it can cause floods all around the world. If the sea levels keep rising some island will disappear. Heat waves are getting more and more common and will cause droughts. Cloud forest like true ecological kings of the jungle are dying off rapidly because of roads are being built, and farm settlement. The ecosystem is shifting in many parts of the globe, growing seasons is 2 weeks longer, animals are endangered, hibernation and migration is getting affected because of All of these has increased rapidly over the years.
Global warming is an increase in the temperature of the earth's weather. Global warming is also known as the green house effect. Global warming is a very serious world issue. Most humans are trying to do as much as they can to help stop global warming. Global warming has caused many problems to the earth in addition to the humans that live here on the earth. A problem caused by global warming is very hot summers. Some summers have had days that the temperature had reached 30*C. Another Problem that global warming has caused is the melting of polar ice caps. Global warming caused the polar ice caps to melt which will cause the ice to break free as well as melt in the sea, sea levels all over the world will rise. Lastly,
The effects of global warming touch every human, animal, plant, ocean, landmass, and atmosphere level on this planet. The numerous effects of global warming are mixes of "good" and "bad" results, depending on how your definition of "good" results and "bad" results are. A "good" effect, a person could say, would be for regions with normally cold temperatures to receive warmer temperatures for their normal. Yet, there are more "bad" effects that seem to out weight the "good" effects. Some of the effects would include increases of flooding, severe storm systems, and rising sea-levels. One major consequence would be an increase of temperature globally. This would
If global warming isn’t stopped horrible catastrophes will happen. Even today, the beginnings of these terrible disasters can be seen all around the world. The sea levels are rising, food shortages are popping up, the global temperature is rising, and much more. As the base temperature of the Earth starts to rise, the polar ice caps are melting. This is causing the sea level to rise. Although this may not seem like a problem, it would cause the sea level to rise 70 meters or 230 feet and would destroy our large coastal cities causing mass destruction. Sea levels rising would also cause widespread flooding. As the globe heats up, tropical storms will become more intense. This will only aid in the mass flooding that will plague the Earth. Food shortages are expected to pop up. This is because as water evaporates from the rising temperatures, plants and animals will not be able to
