How Did Tom Sawyer Change

The definition of change is the act or instance of making or becoming different. Throughout the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, the main character Tom Sawyer had to go through a lot of change. From being self centered and mischievous he became more caring and trustworthy. During the seventh grade year I have also experienced a fair amount of change as well from controlling my emotions to making new friends. Tom Sawyer had changed from a mischievous child to a mature teen who realizes the effects of his actions. I have also changed from a highly over-confident individual to someone who knows their limits. Tom was a mischievous prankster at the start of the book who slowly became a more caring person. In chapter one Tom had stole jam from aunt polly and made a run for it. He also had gone swimming and skipped school. When he had witnessed the murder of Doc Barker and the town had accused Muff Potter, Tom didn’t do anything to help him. After a while Tom had shown up to the murder trial to defend the innocent Muff. Later when Tom and Becky get lost in the cave Tom comforts Becky and tries to find a way out. …show more content…

At the beginning of the 7th grade year I was overly confident and that had led me to be unprepared, but now I have found my strengths and my limits so that I can be prepared.
