If an average person was asked to explain how the Internet worked, what would be their response? They would most likely have no idea how to explain it. However, it had to have been invented somehow, and Tim Berners-Lee is one of the inventors. He created a core part of the internet over countless hours of work. Born into a tech-loving family, he is privileged to be known as the inventor of the World Wide Web.
Tim Berners-Lee was interested in technology from the start. He was born in London in 1955. Inspired by his parents, he became hooked on computer science. He attended The Queen’s College at Oxford and received a 1st Class Bachelor of Arts degree in physics. Afterwards, he became an engineer in a telecommunications business. However, he wasn’t satisified with his career choice.

While working there, he created the Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol, or “HTTP”, in order to communicate information between researchers more easily. His job at CERN was a lot harder before he invented HTTP. 9 years later, he figured out how to combine HTTP and the Internet to form the World Wide Web; the first website was in turn created by him. At the time, it wasn’t very revolutionary or open to the public, but today the Internet’s impact on society is huge.
He was greatly honored for his work, receiving many awards. One such award was the Order of Merit, which is held by only 24 living people. He was also voted into becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society. In 2004, he was knighted and became a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. Today, he works with the UK government to make the Internet more widely accessible. The A4AI was formed in order to reach that goal, and Tim Berners-Lee is a major
He wrote the first web client and server in 1990. His specifications of URIs, HTTP and HTML were refined as Web technology spread. In 2004, Tim Berners-Lee was knighted when he was promoted to Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire for tremendous contributions towards the formation of the World Wide Web. He is also one of the few people who was in favor of Net Neutrality and has expressed the view that ISPs should supply connectivity without any restrictions.
Steve jobs once said, “if today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you 're about to do now? Steve Jobs today would be worth about $31.6 billion. He was a very smart person, becoming a very successful man. Jobs was born on February 24, 1955. His parents Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, gave him up for adoption. Steve Jobs 's father was very hard on him, saying he did everything wrong. This probably led to him being a perfectionist. He went to school at Homestead high school in California. When it came time to go to college, he went for one semesters at Reed College in Portland, Oregon , and dropped out. After college, Jobs met Chrisann Brennan. They ended up having a child together, Lisa, but Steve Jobs claimed she wasn’t his.Jobs experimented with different pursuits, before starting Apple. Later, Steve jobs became the Co-founder of Apple computers. Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple, and was a leader for new technology; his legacy was leading the innovation of the computer and other technologies, which are user friendly and market leaders.
The beginning of the Internet is well known. It was a United States Defense research program named ARPANET. The internal structure of ARPA that reared the network development during its first years is not as well known. Inventing the Internet explains how the little agency was created in 1958 to respond to the Soviets' successful launch of the world's first artificial satellite. ARPA did not own a laboratory.
In the 1990’s, an invention was created that is now used in everyday life, The World Wide Web also known as the WWW. In the year of 1990, Tim Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web.It was invented in the United States and was later released to the public in 1991. The World Wide Web has become very important and people could not imagine a life without it. Overall, the World Wide Web has become very important to the world (Tim Berners-Lee).
Steve Jobs was the founder of Apple, he created a lot of our technology. Without the technology that he has created life today might have been different, like we might not be as technologically advanced. He has influenced many cultural and social views that has both benefited and restricted him in many ways. Steve Jobs is an entrepreneur and inventor he was also co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple. As a result to his success Steve Jobs has both benefited and has been restricted by social cultural views because of his innovation, the demand for his product, and by the working environment he created while establishing his corporation.
The first Internet introduced to the world is the Arpanet. Arpanet also known as The Advanced Research Projects Agency Network was a early packet switching network and the first network to use the protocol suite TCP/IP. Both technologies became the foundation of the Internet. The Arpanet inventors were Lick Licklider and Lawrence Roberts but they can't take all the credit because they worked for the Arpanet was originally created by the IPTO and went through censorship by DARPA. DARPA was planned by Lick Licklider and Lawrence Roberts. The Arpanet used the geographic location to send files and other thing to other locations. This was used by scientists and government officials. “The Arpanet was also considered as the first prototype of the Internet. On a cold war kind of day in 1969 work began on ARPAnet, the grandfather to the Internet. Designed as a computer version of the nuclear bomb shelter,
Steve Wozniak did many things to contribute to the internet. Steve Wozniak founded the Apple Computer. Wozniak Co-founded The Apple Company with Steve Jobs. In 1971 Wozniak and Jobs invented
Overall, the book tells us about the people involved the making of the Internet. Through the efforts of these geniuses, we see that the work on the "Arpanet" and Internet, as in the rest of the field of computing, was a team effort, with contributions from many individuals and organizations. And, as stated earlier, this effort also had much government support. Thus, many people and institutions were responsible in the making of this incredible instrument of computer technology.
Our world of technology today is what the world is run by. Technology is much different than what it was thirty years ago. We would not have the technology we have today if it weren’t for Steve Jobs. We wouldn’t have any of the Apple products that half of America uses if it weren’t for Steve Jobs work. Steve Jobs was a very intelligent person. He created many of ideas and objects. Some people would consider him a god to the technology world because of everything he created.
Steve Jobs was one of the most well known computer marketers of all time. From helping to shape the way today’s computers work, to coming up with great new marketing strategies, he has left a big impact on the world. Steve Jobs created several unique ways to market computers, innovated new interfaces to make electronics easier to use, and impacted the world by making the straightforward electronics widely available. One of the smart ways he created to market computers was to give them “flavors” such as blue raspberry and lime to go along with the company’s name of “apple”.(LINK1) These color options were for the iMac g3, which is no longer in production, however, the idea of different colored electronics is still used today, and not only by apple!
Steve Jobs was the man responsible for kickstarting the Digital Revolution. From his Apple 1 computer in 1976, to the newest MacBook, Steve Jobs brought the personal computer from only hobbyists and people experienced in the field of technology, to the average person’s household. With his burning desire to create something amazing, Jobs created a company dedicated to improving everyone's quality of life with state of the art technologies. Steve Jobs has greatly impacted U.S. technology by launching the age of the personal computer and creating user friendly technology that is found in everyone’s daily life.
Considered a pioneer in the design and development of the desktop computer, Jobs has been able to build his company from the ground up. His company, Apple, is now one of the top businesses in the world, making over $200 billion a year. As a revolutionary figure, nearly changing all of the technology we have today; Jobs is truly one for the history books. Dropping out of college is no problem for Steve Jobs, from his company alone he has became a billionaire. As a student for Reed College, Jobs decided to major in Physics for the short amount of time he was there.
The man who built the internet from the ground up and who is known as the father of the internet is Vinton Grey Cerf. Cerf was born on June 23, 1943 in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1965 Cerf was presented with a bachelor’s
Perhaps one of the greatest inventions of out time is the Internet. Without a doubt, the net has had a profound effect on almost every aspect of our lives. The formation of the Internet has changed the way we do business, communicate, entertain, retrieve information, and even educate ourselves. Nevertheless, the Internet might have never materialized if it had not been for some innovated thinkers from the Advanced Research Project Agency, who created "ARPANET." In collaboration with several educational and research institutions, the agency created the packet-switching technologies that form the basis of the Internet today.
It is important to know the history of the internet. The internet is a worldwide network of computer systems that are connected to each other by cables (Howe, 2012). The internet first started out as a military experiment. In 1957, the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) was created by the United States department of Defense (Computer History Museum, 2004). The project was started after the Russians launched a satellite into space for communication reasons. The satellite was called SPUTNIK (Computer History Museum, 2004). It was rumored that President Eisenhower got worried and decided to get the United States to launch its own satellite. They recruited Dr. Joseph C. Licklider of MIT, was made head of the Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO)(Computer History Museum, 2004). Their purpose of the project was to focus on improving the military use of computer information.
