The war of 1812 had many impacts on groups and individuals. Since it was a very large and impactful war on colonization, and peace, there were many negative, and positive influences after and during the war. this included treaty’s, ownership of land, alliances, and other conflicts. In addition, people who fought in this war were affected both mentally and physically, many suffered trauma from the war, and others had lost limbs, and suffered from many scars and broken bones. Soldiers fought in very harsh conditions which brought them deadly diseases including measles, malaria, and smallpox, which were very tough to cure at the time. this led to may soldiers fleeing war in upper and lower Canada. The first nations were very impactful to the British and were a major component in their victories as they participated in many of the battles that took place. Many of the victories of land that the British had won were because of the first nations. The first nations had thought that the British and them would share land However, they had suffered the greatest during this war. They lost main parts of there land, that was taken over by both the French and there allies the British. In addition, they suffered many losses, and had less people to fought with during the war, and after when they settled from the war. After the war had ended, the British broke thee alliances with he first nations, which caused many disputes among the two groups, and British began to take over their land. When the treaty of Ghent was signed there were no first nation representatives during the negotiation. British tried to negotiate with the Americans however they refused and when the treaty was signed they lost military and economic
