The Iron Act may have been started for a number of reasonings But the main one was the colonists making their own iron. The iron act made it so that colonists couldn’t make iron they had to buy it from England. They had to send natural resources to England and buy iron back. Which made the colonists very mad, and didn't end well for England and the colonists. The Iron Act started something that would end very badly.
Way before the Iron Act the colonists were buying iron bars from England to make things. They would send England natural resources then England would make things for them. But then, the colonists realized that they could just make there own iron. So, the colonists started getting the natural resources than making iron products

Then, England would manufacture goods for the colonists. But then the colonists realized they could just make manufactured goods themselves. So, the colonists started making their own manufactured goods, and eventually had a place for manufacturing in every town. But then, the parliament realized that people were going out of work because England was manufacturing the goods anymore. So, the Parliament decided to pass the iron act. This act inforced that the colonists couldn’t make pig iron in the Americas, they to send the materials to England. Which Cause a huge outrage. This act might have even caused the American Revolutionary war, because 5 years later the war started, ending the iron …show more content…
The reason for that is because it took away a lot of saved money and jobs. While England got more money and jobs. The act made it so that the colors couldn't manufacture iron. Which caused them to have to send all the materials to England and get manufactured tools from them. Which wasted a lot of money, jobs, and iron mills.
This was important to the colonists because they affected the way they lived. This act made it so that the colonists couldn’t make iron themselves. They had to send the materials back to England to manufacture. This act made it so they wasted a lot of money they could save. Which caused major outrage in the colonies. Which eventually lead to the American Revolutionary War.
This was very important for England for one, main thing money. England was losing money when the colonists made their own iron. England wouldn’t get as much taxes from the imports/exports. Also, England was losing jobs because they didn’t need people to make iron for them. So England decided to pass the iron act so they could get more money and jobs. This act was great for England but terrible for the
The Act of 1764, also known as The Sugar Act, lowered the taxes on molasses but also it had more ways to enforce the tax. In addition to the tax on molasses they taxed things such as silks, wines, and potash. The Americans were outraged with this new law. The colonists did whatever they could to ignore this new law. The British passed the Quartering Act which basically said that the American colonists have to house and feed British forces who were serving in North America. This inflamed the
The events leading up to the Sugar act and needing the troops for protection, was the French and Indian War. The war also known as the Seven Years war lasted from 1756 to 1763. This war was fought between the British and France. Therefore Britain was national debt so they taxed the colonists 3% on foreign molasses.
In Document 2A, it talks about the “Sugar Act of 1764”. I believe that this helped in the process of making the Revolutionary War inevitable. This was required by the Colonies to pay tax on molasses. A recorded six pence per gallon of molasses. This was an effort to gain revenue off of the Colonies. The British needed the funds to make up for the debt made in the French and Indian War. This was also an effort to end the smuggling trade in sugar as well as make money back from the debt. Resulting in boycotts of British goods and protests
The American Revolution was not just a war over independence but a political revolution that led to the separation between the colonies and Great Britain. The colonies were exhausted with all with acts that taxed them. Like the Revenue Act placed goods such as wool and hides, which had been previously trade freely with other European countries but now the trade had to go through England ending with high prices on the goods (Fonor 173). Moreover this created more issues one of them was not being able to buy from other cheaper trading goods companies and just relying on the high price on England goods an issue that was discussed in class on July 13. The revolution brought new changes to what has been a monarchical style of government over the
One reason that the Coercive/Intolerable Acts led to the revolutionary war was because, one, the colonists were already angered by the taxes, laws, and acts. The reason they were already angered was because before the French and Indian war, the colonies were mostly untouched/ never really bothered by Great Britain. But after the war, the British needed to pay off its massive debts
Albeit that this was not the first act between Britain and the colonies, it created plenty of uproar amongst the colonies. Two provisions of the Sugar Act attracted the most colonial opposition. The first provision allowed the validity of seizures of ships and goods to be determined in a
The Sugar Act of 1764 was a tax on imported sugar that the English parliament used to cover the debt piled up by the French and Indian war and to help offset the costs of running the colonies and new territories. Also in 1764 there was the Currency Act, which restricted the colonists from issuing any sort of legal tender money. This currency Act threatened both the industrial north and agricultural south economy. The colonists were angry about this destabilizing threat of the entire economy. To make the colonist more pissed the English parliament passes the Stamp Act in March of 1765.
The American Revolution was about economic rights. After many things the colonists finally decided to rebel after these main things. Taxation without representation, Britain forbad the them to settle west of the Apache Mountains, and the colonists were forced to give the British soldiers supplies and shelters out of their own pockets, even though they did not want the soldiers there. Britain found herself in a large amount of debt, and one way to leave that debt is start making the colonies pay high duties.
As citizens of Britain, colonists had the right to have a seat in the British Parliament to decide on bills. Britain passed unconstitutional taxes on the colonists in order to get out of debt, but they did it without the consent of the colonists who didn’t have a voice in the British Parliament. The acts of rebellion on the behalf of colonists influenced on the development of the American Revolution. The Colonists boycotted and hurt the British Government which hurt them financially. Lastly, the the last component to the American Revolution was the enforcement by Britain which triggered massacres, threats, violation of right and fear to the Colonists which once considered themselves Englishmen. Unconstitutional decisions and behavior, acts of rebellion, and enforcement lead to the American Revolution leading to a future creation of the United States of America. 300 years later we still see third world countries everywhere evolving because of these three components which can revolutionize the
It was not until 1764 when Britain started to interfere with the colonies. The colonies had some independence so they were not used to being told what to do. Because the British government had gone in debt fighting France, they decided that the colonies had to help pay for their own defense. To raise this money, parliament made a new law, sugar act. It required payment of a tariff on imported items such as molasses, sugar, coffee and certain wines. During this time, tariffs were used to regulate trade; however, the colonist felt this was just
First off, the Embargo Act of 1807 which banned trade between Napoleonic war countries. At this time many American sailors were being captured and forced to serve for the British army. This was only happening because of Napoleon's army which Britain was constantly fighting against. So, Thomas Jefferson created the Embargo act of 1807 which banned trade to European countries. This angered British quite a lot. The Embargo act of 1807 hurt many economies flaring some anger within these nations.
This angered many Americans because they felt that the land was their birthright, but this document was not drawn up to oppress the colonies, but it was made to work out the
The American Revolution began, before the battles had even started. A lot lead to the revolution, and the economic problems were the main reason. In 1651, the English Parliament passed the Navigation acts which told the colonists that any product not produced by England itself (cotton, tobacco, and sugar) were to be shipped from the colonies only to England.
Britain established a series of acts to control the colonies and this became the main cause of the revolution. These acts enabled
The Intolerable act closed off the Boston Port, which closed off the center of economic prosperity (trading) of New England. England was also limiting the colonists to raw material production, which hindered the colonists' economic prosperity. The main reason for the revolution was economic. Their are many other reasons that do not support the economic theory but support the political
