15 December 2014 How could the Holocaust happen? In 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany. Before 1934 ended, Hitler proclaimed himself Fuhrer and Reichskanzler. Before the Holocaust ended, Adolf Hitler annexes Austria, Belgium, Holland and France. In October, 17,000 Jews were expelled from Germany. By May 1940, 10 Concentration Camps were established. The Kristallnacht, Economic crisis of Germany, and prejudice are reasons for the Holocaust. These events make up the time period known as the Holocaust. This time period is known for anti-Semitism, prejudice against Jews. The Germans were prejudice toward the Jews. Hitler easily gained respect over the German population. Alfon Heck confesses in a biography,’’ Hitler’s hatred of the Jews didn’t dampen his image in most people’s minds” (Ayer 26). In a rally Hitler threatens,’’ Jews abandon all hope! (Ayer 26). German women blames Jews for everything. Heck also recalls,’’ The murder of 11 million people in the Holocaust began simply with prejudice, minor harassment’’ (Ayer 27). The Germans were cruel toward the Jews. Arnold

Fritz confesses in his Historical Account, “the countries wartime finances had depended less on taxation and much more on loans and bonds” (Roth 46). The economic crisis overwhelmed Germany. Fritz preached, “The war harmed Germany’s industrial capacity” (Roth 46). As Germany economic problem rises, the paper money depreciated. Roth states,’’ As quickly as the paper money was printed its value depreciated’’ (Roth 46). As the Holocaust ends, Germany’s wartime increased. Roth explains,’’ At the inflectional peak, a liter of milk or a loaf of bread could cost you billions of marks’’ (Roth 46). The wartime continued into 1950. According to Amos,” (The gas and sealed cattle cars are still 2 years away)” (Neufeld 28). Germany was overwhelmed with economic
The holocaust began in January 1933 and ended in May 1945. Hitler that started all this chaos disliked the Jews, so he started doing concentration camps where he put the Jewish people to work. The Jewish people did not have a voice, they would know how they felt. Hitler used lots of euphemisms
The holocaust was a tragic time for Jews.Germans tortured Jews because they were different and had a different religion. The holocaust lasted through January 30, 1933 - May 8, 1945. Six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.Jews were starved and suffered. The word Holocaust came from a greek word meaning “Sacrifice by fire”. Art Speigelman wrote the book Maus to explain the events from the holocaust.
By the end of the war, the amount of currency in circulation had increased 400%. Although one might expect the price level to have increased by about the same amount, it was actually only about 140% higher than it was at the beginning of the war. This was due to the fact that, at first, people thought price increases were due to shortages and were waiting for prices to fall to make purchases. However, as soon as they realized the rise in prices was due not only to goods being less available, but also to inflation of the money supply, they began to spend at faster and faster rates.
The Jewish Holocaust was a troubling period filled with despair and anguish amongst the Jewish people. The Holocaust happened when a dictator named Adolf Hitler rose to power. Adolf Hitler rose to power in 1933 during Germany’s dark days. Hitler became a powerful force after his release from jail. His speeches were inspiring because his speeches enthused people and caused a sense of belief.
The holocaust was a terrible historic event that took place in World War II and during Hitler’s rule over Germany. They took Jewish people, opposers and whoever was different in a lot of ways. So, how did the holocaust happen? Why did the countrymen let innocent people die? The answers are Fear, blame and reasoning. The Germans let it happen because of these reasons. It was Hitler’s plan that terribly unfolded.
Unemployment was skyrocketing, and the country was continuing to fall into a depression . To keep up with reparation payments, the German government kept printing more money which resulted in super inflation . This took a major toll on the socioeconomic situation and the peoples quality of living. In October of 1923, a woman named Betty Scholem writes to her child about how bad the inflation is and its effect on her family. In her letter, Scholem states, “Conditions have taken a catastrophic turn here. Notice that this letter cost 15 million cash; it will be 30 million beginning the day after tomorrow—and this price will most likely last a mere two days at most. Now you can get things done only with billions” . This letter paints a picture of how desperate the economic situation is in Germany in 1923. Morgan Philips Price, a British politician, also speaks on the conditions the people of Germany are experiencing in October of 1923 due to the economic situation. Price states, “In Germany today there is a complete breakdown of the capitalist mechanism of distribution and exchange, and there is no sign yet that any of the would-be dictators are in a position to set up any state machinery which can do what the Communist Party did for Russia in 1917–18 – namely, hold the nation together by making everyone bear the same burden to achieve a common end” . During this time,
Why did the holocaust happen? Them, meaning the nazis, believed that all the jews needed to be removed because they were a problem. So, pretty much, jewish kids could no longer own a bike, have pets, or even go to school because of something that they couldn’t change. People
“Hitler used the Jews as a scapegoat, blaming them for Germany's economic and social problems,” (“Background: Life Before”). Germany during Hitler’s rise was desperate for change and hope. When Hitler brought the German people up from economic troubles that came from World War 1 they were more than willing to agree and do nearly anything Hitler said. Hitler took his antisemitism to the extreme with the help of his people were able to conduct one of the worst mass killings known to man. Anti Semitism may have existed beforehand but it was never on the scale of what the Holocaust
The Holocaust slowly evolved between 1933 and 1945.The event took place during World War II. This occurred because of the discrimination against Jews and also because Hitler blamed the Jews for the downfall of the economy and were the reason Germany lost the war. The Jews were taken from their homes, persecuted and finally murdered. In 1941 there was 11 million Jews in Europe, the Nazis killed 6 million of them and 1.5 million were children. They also killed and enslaved the mental or physical disabilities, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Trade unionists, political opponents, poles and soviets prisoner of war and Romas (Gypsies). This event a occurred because Hitler and the Nazis wanted to get rid of the rich and diverse culture.
Many know about the Holocaust and maybe what had occurred during it, but not everyone knows why it began. Lots of conflicts helped lead up to the Holocaust. After World War I Germany was pretty wound-up. There were many conflicts around either due to man or nature. For example there was the wreckage from World War I as well as debts from it as well. Other conflicts that led up to the Holocaust were those between the German and Jewish people. One event that caused conflict between German and Jewish people was racial anti- Semitism, along with propaganda. Another was through political cartoons and lastly with racial laws that were put in place.
The Holocaust started in the 1933, when the Nazis and Adolf Hitler took power in Germany. The Holocaust from the Greek words “holos” (whole) and “kaustos” (burned) cause chaos and tragedy for Jewish people. At this time Germany was a nation with a Jewish population of 566,000 people. Nazis thought that they were the most inferior race and no other race was better than the Aryan race. This cause a lot of discrimination and hate against other people based on their beliefs and looks. The Nazis provoked the outbreak of World War II, when they invaded Poland. The Holocaust lasted 12 years and it end it on May of 1945.
The Holocaust was the murder and persecution of approximately 6 million Jews and many others by the Nazi regime and its collaborators. The Nazis came to power in Germany in January of 1933. The Nazis thought that the “inferior” Jews were a threat to the “racially superior” German racial community. The death camps were operated from 1941 to 1945, and many people lost their lives or were forced to work in concentration camps during these years. The story leading up to the Holocaust, how the terrible event affected people’s lives, and how it came to and end are all topics that make this historic event worth learning about.
The Holocaust was a disturbing event that happened years ago. It started January 30th 1933 and ended in May 8th 1945. Adolf Hitler was the person to blame for it because he had power over the germans because he became the dictator. It occured because Adolf Hitler didn’t like jewish people.
During January 30, 1933 – May 8, 1945 the Holocaust occurred . The Holocaust is a time period where German Nazis, policemen, Stormtroopers, Gestapo, and the SS Police attempted Jewish genocide. The German Nazis, policemen, Stormtroopers, Gestapo, and the SS Police would do anything possible to get rid of the Jewish population such as killing, threatening, humiliating, burning Jewish property, and harming Jews. There are some reason why the Holocaust happened, some reasons are that as these actions committed by the German Nazis, policemen, Stormtroopers, Gestapo, and the SS Police, most of the German citizens were bystanders that saw what was happening but did nothing to stop it, even if they disagreed Germans citizens would let it happen.
After World War One, Germany was thrown into downward spiral. They were left with a monstrous amount of
