How did the Gold Rush shape Australian history?
The Australian gold rush began in May 1851, when Edward Hargraves claimed that he had discovered gold near Bathurst. After the Australians had heard this news, most of them packed up their belongings and left to go to Bathurst and mine for gold, hoping to get rich and wealthy.
When the Australian Gold Rush began, many immigrates came to Australia, all of whom contributed their own cultural influences. This was the start of multiculturalism. The Chinese came and mostly all of them stayed in Australia and built businesses in the towns, once the main gold deposits were mined out.
There was a huge increase in the population. In 1851, Australia's population was 437,655. By the end of the gold rush, 1861, Australia's population was doubled. But sadly after the gold rush, many of the new towns that were famous for the amount of gold that they held, shrank to towns that no one lived

The richness of this architecture can still be seen today in most of the buildings.
There was a huge influence of people to the Victorian goldfields, but businessmen, tradesmen, labourers - the very backbone of Australia, together with many of the state's own administrators abandoned their jobs to go and mine for gold. This caused many people to lose their jobs, and no one could fill them in. The Gold Rush also brought on the capital of Australia today, ACT which stands for Australian Capital Territory. Victoria and NSW argued back and forth for the capitol. When they settled at a city which was equal distance from where NSW state capitol is and Victoria state Capitol
The gold rush of the 1850’s had a major and lasting impact on Australia and changed it forever. Before gold was discovered Australia was a lawless prison colony. Less than fifty years after gold was discovered, Australia had been transformed into an independent country. The gold rush helped increase the population, which helped bring social, cultural development and democratic government.
The gold rush was located along the Klondike river thats why people have many names for the gold rush because there were many places where it took place and the Klondike river was one of those places where hundreds or thousands of people went to find gold. Like I said before the Gold rush was called lots of things people even call it the disappointment of the generation or like the luckiest thing on earth but they usually call the gold rush the Klondike gold rush. There are many many people who go up there and search for gold in the book I was reading they said there are up to one hundred thousand people plus up there looking for gold and about 3/4 came out lucky and the other ¼ either came out with nothing or even died trying to get gold
Gold was discovered by a man by the name of James W. Marshall on January 1,1848 in California. While James was in the construction site he saw a shiny object on the ground and found that the shiny object is gold. 1890 to 1914 – Canada had a rapid growth of mining and manufacturing. In Aug of 1896, the was the “Klondike Gold Rush,” a large mining of gold. The gold rush was hot news that spread quickly and produced a pull factor, drawing the attention of many immigrants and explorers.
The gold rush was a big event that took place in July of 1897. It wasn’t a simple event, there was many hardships faced by the miners. Gold Rush is one of the significant event in the history. In this project, I will introduce what is the major effects of the Gold Rush in the California. And how did that change the people, economic, political and environmental effects. The Gold Rush is a rapid movement of people to a newly discovered Goldfield. Humans are thought to have arrived in Australia around sixty five thousand years ago. The original inhabitants, who have descendants to this day, are known as aborigines. These aborigines settled for primarily a well-watered costal area. But they aren’t the only population who wanted this land. The period of European discovery and settlement began on August 23rd, 1770, when James Cook took position of the eastern coast of Australia reported the fertile lands back to Britain. But Britain used the land based off of a strategic move in the late 18th century and the early 19th centuries once European wars broke out. A historical rivalry resumed during the American War of Independence, and both nations were seriously weakened by their involvement.
They searched for gold along the river and creek beds without any destination with their pans, axes, and shovels. The miners used a method called “placer” mining. They used their pans to collect the gold that washed down from the hillsides and settled in the bottom of the rivers. Other miners would use flatboats to shift the current to find better locations with more gold deposits. Many of them were very successful and collected numerous amount of gold dust with their pans. After a while it was more difficult to find gold that had washed down from the mountains and the hills into the streams. The California Gold rush of 1849 start the first big boom for the west. It extract so many people of different backgrounds to come and tried to find gold. Soon after there were other places in the west were gold and silver was found. This led to the start of the mining business which boom from the 1860s to 1890s. Gold and Silver were found areas such as Denver, Nevada, And the Dakota area. When people heard about these finding thousands upon thousands flock to the towns turning regular mining camps into cities. Many of these miners were irresponsible with their money and didn’t think long term. They would just spend their money on beers and prostitutes. The smart miners would save their money to buy better equipment and place to live to keep thriving in the industry. They would eventually start buying up mines and become rich from the business to were they longer had to mine. Once mine was flat out and no more resource was available the town died off. People who didn’t save their money were left broke and working under terrible conditions. Working the mining industry was very danger and remains one of the most dangerous jobs in the United

According to the article, "Another gold rush" the gold mining become more common. Since, mining is hard work and dangerous, young people are not interested in doing mining. Also miners said the mining equipment is expensive for them and most of them didn’t get wealth by doing mining. The article also said the gold prices keep rising.
Gold in California was incidental discovered near an American stream that would change the young creating state. All finished America, youthful colleagues settled on the decision to go to California. People started from Europe, Asia, and South America searching for minute wealth. The new American dream was to get rich, and to make a fortune quickly. (Mill operator 151)
