How Did Martin Luther King Impact The World

There were hundreds of people in the world who have made some kind of impact on it. Some of those people are remembered for leaving a positive effect on the world while others were remembered for their negative effects. The two people I will be talking about are, Marting Luther King Jr. and Adolf Hitler. Both powerful men who were and always will be remembered for their impacts they left behind. Martin Luther King Jr. was Baptist Minister and a Social Activist who led the civil rights movement for almost twenty years until his asasination at age 39. Martin fought for equal rights and to end racial segregation among the population of african-american and white people. One of Martin’s first acts upon this was the Bus Boycott. The Bus Boycott was when Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat to a group of white men and was charged $14 in a thirty minute court hearing (equivalent to $140 today). This was a thirteen month mass protest that ended with the supreme court ruling out segregation on public buses. Although this did help aid out racial segregation on buses, there was still an enormous amount of work to be done to end it all for good. …show more content…

He lead over 200,000 people to the Lincoln Memorial overlooking the Washington Monument. The main goal of this march was to gain civil and economic equality for African-Americans. It was organized and thought out by not only King, but his groups of civil rights, labor and religious organizations. One of Martin’s most famous speeches was his “I Have a Dream” speech which was done during this march of greatness. This march was extremely important in helping to get rid of several big things such as religion, color, gender and the Civil Rights
