How Did Martin Luther King Impact Society

Dr. Martin Luther King Junior was able to captivate many people during a time where African Americans were considered inferior. He stood up for himself and others and vowed to make a change in his community and around the country. The words he were extremely powerful and are still remembered today. Some of his words aroused people and caused them to want to make a change (pathos), and others appealed to reason and used evidence (logos). Dr. King used pathos more frequently in his I Have a Dream speech and used logos more prominently in the Letter from Birmingham Jail letter.

and his speech, “ I Have A Dream”, he help take a big step in breaking the racial barrier. In his speech, King talks about how everyone should be treated equally despite their race or how he states it, the color of their skin. Then the famous part “I have a dream…”, in these segment he states of different ways he dreamed on how Black and Whites would get along peacefully in the future. Not only is it his most famous speech but it is important to the history of the United States. Without it racism wouldn't be close to being over.

King makes the reader feel the frustration of those moments when his community was told to wait for a better, more convenient time. He makes the reader feel the sorrow of the moments when his daughter asks to go to a park but they are not allowed because it is for whites only, or when his son asks why they are treated different for their skin color. He makes a person feel the horror that must have been felt watching families get hurt or killed by angry mobs or policemen. It is through this use of pathos that King continues to inspire humanity to do better.

Martin luther king was born on January 15, 1929. I don't know where but the point is that he was born and that he was a good kid and he was really close with his siblings and they were like three peas in a pod they got along really well. We also know that martin luther king was a great leader and impacted the world in a positive way and forever changed this world we live in.

In his speech he says, “/ […]/ Negro / […]/ finds himself in exile in his own land.” Not only does that phrase show his sympathy on Negros and their unfair treatment, but it acknowledges his audience’s emotions and leads them to have compassion towards those that do not have equality. Another example of pathos that he uses in his speech is to have emotional words to capture the hearts of his listeners such as, “shameful” “sadly crippled” “chains of discrimination” “guilty” and “hatred.” Dr. King uses these words in his speech to motivate and inspire his audience to have their voices heard in order to stop segregation. Like Gandhi once wrote "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the brave men to do something about segregation, and getting civil rights. Along with Dr. King was the other blacks that helped and marched with him in a non violent manner. Dr.King never wanted to hurt anyone through violence. All he wanted was to get his point out across the world, and allow all blacks to finally have freedom and rights.

There are many leaders throughout history and many of them had made tremendous impacts on our lives. Many leaders inspired for the better but some have inspired for the worse. Martin Luther King has inspired for the better and has allowed the way society views on racism and diversity to change. He, along with others, made and shaped the way the world is today.

Andrew Young once said, “There's no problem on the planet that can't be solved without violence. That's the lesson of the civil rights movement.” This era was full of injustice towards colored people of America. The Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s was when colored people fought for their rights in various ways. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X were two civil rights leaders who had incredibly different techniques in achieving these goals. Dr. King’s philosophy included using non-violent approaches to gain rights for blacks; Malcolm X’s beliefs were for colored people to make their own communities and protect themselves by “any means necessary”. When I was looking back at the civil right movement, Martin Luther King Jr was probably one of the best leaders that they could of had ever. He is one of the biggest influences in society today.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a large aid to the civil rights movement, yet he was not the only one that made large changes to the government during the civil rights movement.

Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. had a huge impact in America. They were both fighting for African Americans civil rights as well as rights for other ethnicities, to be treated equally, and granted with same rights and with the same respect and morals they deserved. Even though both Americans faced complicated hardships during their childhood they managed to put them aside and fought for their community until the end, which ended up taking their lives away.

Martin Luther King Jr once said,“The time Is always right to do what Is right (Christian Animal Ethics, 2017).” He used that when he halted segregation laws. He was known for being a Civil Right Leader. Plus people had picked Martin Luther King Jr to be a leader of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Martin Luther King Jr Is an Influential person because of his hard working life, him as a Civil Right Leader, his Presidential Medal of Freedom, and leader of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

If you had a different skin color, would you discriminate others? Based upon modern society, skin color has been an obstacle that has caused discrimination for years. Martin Luther King Jr has positively benefitted modern society by not discriminating one another for our differences and creating a world wide perfect vision of how the world should be between one another.
